Just a perfect place for exploring the Borders and the coast. For us as astronomers is was a perfect place for stargazing as the property was in a real dark-sky spot. We'll certainly recommend this place for small groups of astro-lovers. We had three clear nights and made a lot of images of the universe. We visited Vindolanda, Edinburgh, Rosllyn, LRead moreindisfarne, St. Abbs head (great walks!), the Cheviot Hills. Had a great time! Hide

A very relaxing victorian farmhouse with mod cons and plenty of cooking equipment. Nicely decorated. Comfy beds. Warm and cosy lounge and snug. Plenty of space indoors and a garden. Added optional bonus of caring for some hens and eating their eggs. Lovely setting and fantastic opportunities for star gazing Good ideas for days out.
Valerie
We all loved the location, felt very relaxing. Enjoyed the hot tub. Also enjoyed the contact with the hens.

Really enjoyed our family holiday, in your home, thank you. The chickens were a great hit. The farmhouse was relaxed, spacious and comfortable, enough room for everyone and it was so quiet outside! As the sun shone, the beaches were an ideal way to spend the day. Heatherslaw Railway and Paxton House were a bonus too.

Just back after a weeks stay in Blackburn for Hogmanay in the Scottish Borders. This house is set in a truly lovely setting close to Chirnside village which is perfect for any essentials needed for your stay. As there were 10 adults and 2 dogs, there is plenty of comfortable space for all. There are 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, dinin g room and a fabulous kitchen for cooking. It was great to spend some quality time with friends that all haven't been together for a few years.

I would highly recommend this beautiful property to people who like a 5 bedroom house. This was our second visit to Blackburn Cottage, and we all loved it the first time and again on our last stay. Absolutely perfect. We have stayed in a lot of lovely holiday homes, but this is definitely my perfect holiday house, and so looking forward to coming b ack. Fabulous. Thank you, Marion.

Absolutely excellent for multi-generation family gatherings and if you have a dog. Very comfortable homely accommodation with plenty of space. The kitchen is very well stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots and pans etc Location is ideal for visiting the surrounding area and further afield.
David
Terrific property in good location. Remote enough to be peaceful but not too far by car to "civilisation". Excellent facilities throughout and enclosed garden great for dogs and children. The hot tub is an added bonus even although we couldn't use it on the days that it rained. Hope to be back again for another holiday.
Anita
Blackburn is a home that has everything you need. We stayed there for a family holiday and to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was in a beautiful setting away from it all. The chickens were a focus for the grandchildren and they took total charge of them. The soft play area was a great hit with our 3 year old grandson. The hot tub was a great place t o unwind at the end of busy days exploring the beaches, zoo, Holy Island and more. If you want a quiet stunning place to stay this is it.
Lynn
A lovely house, comfortable and spacious enough for 10 adults. The hot tub was wonderful! We enjoyed watching the house martins feeding their chicks outside our bedroom windows. The kitchen was well-equipped and there were plenty of glasses, mugs, etc. wed go again!
Jeremy
Very comfortable and well equipped. We loved the hot tub and the two sitting rooms with good TVs. Lovely countryside, lots of birds around (and some hares), and a good base for the region from Lindisfarne to St Abb's Head and beyond. We had a great week with an extended family group aged 13 to 88.
Samantha
The farm house was a perfect base for our family holiday, located in a beautiful quiet and tranquil spot, yet not too far from civilisation, places to go and things to do. Spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, ideal for all ages. Sitting out in the hot tub listening the birds, and watching the sun go down is just idyllic. Watching the swallows building their nests, feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs. We would definitely recommend the farm house.
Julie
Well appointed house which was lovely and warm. Very peaceful location yet only 15 minutes from Berwick.
Mark
This is a really well look after property, in a fantastic location. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning
Sven
A spacious and very comfortable place to relax and enjoy the piece and quiet. Perfect for four couples and also convenient for trips to the likes of Eyemouth and Berwick. Would certainly recommend to other groups or families.
Constance
Very spacious and homely house. Well equipped and quiet. Hot tub and play area was a great hit for the family
Karan
The house was perfect for our family get together. Very comfortable, clean and extremely well equipped with everything we needed. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the surrounding area for walks with the dog. We visited the nearby towns and went to a boat trip. No dolphins to see unfortunately that day. Maybe next time.

With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
