We stayed in this charming little cabin and loved how it really felt like a true escape to the countryside. The private woods are perfect for wandering and exploringand there's absolutely no light pollution-just stunning starry nights and the occasional hoot of an owl. The hosts were lovely, making us feel really welcomed and offering help when needed. It’s a perfect spot to unwind and disconnect. We had a fantastic few days and definitely hope to come back soon!

Beautiful spot close to Devon’s main sights. Very dog-friendly with a nice enclosed garden. The place is cosy and has everything we needed for a comfy stay. Just a bit of cleaning could make it perfect, but overall, it’s a top location!

This gorgeous wooden lodge is nestled in its own private ancient woodland, offering everything needed for a comfy stay. The lovely suspended decking and private hot tub make you feel like you’re among the trees, plus there’s a roofed area to enjoy even when it rains. If you’re after peace and quiet, with just the sounds of nature, this is the place. The owners are friendly and so helpful!
Mark
We couldn't wish for a more peaceful and relaxing spot! The owners were fantastic, the cabin was just brilliantand the woodland was truly beautiful.

The location is absolutely fabulous if you enjoy being away from it all. There’s no traffic, just the lovely sounds of birdsong — we really loved it! You can walk to the nearest pub, but just a heads up, the journey back is all up hill. We managed it in our mid 60s and we're reasonably fit, but we don’t think everyone would handle it as easily.
Emily
We absolutely loved this beautiful cottage. Mery and John are super hosts and really welcoming. The cottage has everything you could need. It’s well thought out and practical for dog owners. Our labrador enjoyed her own private little enclosed garden and loved having the run of the woods right outside the front door. Honestly, if we could live here, we would! Our evenings were spent watching shooting stars and seeing bats and owls fly overhead. It’s a truly special place. We can’t recommend it enough.
Simon
What a lovely setting in an ancient woodland forest! There are several walks right from the door with our doggies. The cafe, pubs, shop, garage and railway station are all within easy reach. We had a wonderful time.
Oliver
We can’t recommend this place enough! Honestly, we’re already planning to book again for next year. The cabin is stunning and has so much charm in a wonderfully private setting. Everything was immaculate and super comfortable, plus it has all the amenities you could ever need. The owners are really lovely and helpful, but they give you your space so it’s just you and the trees! There are beautiful walks, local villages, pubs and great food around. This was an incredible holiday getawayand we miss it loads! It could not be better.
Clara
Owls Roost is such a lovely, relaxing lodge! It’s nestled by a forest with great walks for our dog. The hot tub was just perfect for unwinding in the evening, with no noise apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. The owners are super friendlyand the lodge is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We loved it so much that we’re going back next year!
Emma
We had a fantastic week’s stay! We didn’t realise how noisy city life is until we came home from Owls Roost. Would definitely recommend the cabin and we will most definatly be back. Our dog Teddy also loved it—the garden is secure and the private woods are a nice, peaceful place for walks. There are lovely places to visit if you don’t mind driving.
