For us the main add on feature we look for is a covered area outside the lodge where we can sit if weather is not great and these lodges do have this. We are less interested in hot tub and sauna.

Rosehill Lodges are fantastic holiday homes. We had a perfect week in July. We arrived and the sun was shining, it was like a arriving in a tropical paradise. Everything was perfect, the accommodation is of a very high standard. The location is perfect. We enjoyed the five minute stroll to the Porthtowan beach every day. Firstly, the upgrade is good . The staff where helpful and pleasant. However, reference Wheal Mary, the television was not working on arrival. During the week particular late afternoons evenings no working tv channels. The radiator was loose in the on suite. Not enough kitchen work surface to prepare meals. No compost bin. No book to review how to Read moreuse the equipment. Finally, the shower and bath runs cold if the person has taken a shower in the on suite. Overall, the enhancement good. Hide

Beautifully newly renovated lodge, stayed with our dog, porch area with hot tub was very thoughtfully put together with a gate so we could relax knowing our dog was safe while we relaxed. All the rooms were very comfortable, clean & warm. Really appreciated all the quality appliances and fittings in the kitchen than made the odd eating in night reaRead morelly easy going. Apparently Saunas are in the process of being installed for each lodge which will be an excellent addition. Hope to stay again! Hide

The Rock Gardens Caves and Nursery have an amazing setting in the old Palace Quarry. The gardens offer an abundance of trees, plants and floral displays including a very grand 80ft Elm Tree and a stunning Weeping Ash. The site also offers a large carp pond, a breathtaking illuminated cave and a tea room serving tasty local produce.
Paradise Park - TR27 4HY

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. The inhabitants include some typical UK creatures including Otters, and Red Squirrels as well as some more unusual and rare animals including Red Pandas. Younger children will enjoy meeting the friendly animals in the farm area. The site has recently been extended and now also has a fantastic Jungle Barn where kids can let of steam.

The award winning Newquay Zoo makes a fun family day out in North Cornwall.  With over 130 different species of animals to see and plenty of fun activities for the kids this attraction is ideal.  Recent additions to the zoo include the African Savanna and the Madagascan Walkthrough exhibit.  Kids will love the play area, face painting, tarzan trail and animal encounters.  Different events tale place throughout the year such as the Halloween Zoo Boo family fun event on 31st October.
Dairyland Farm World - TR8 5AA
about 12 Miles
Open from end March to end October this is a lovely attraction suited to families with kids of all ages.  You don't need to worry about the weather either as this is an all weather attraction with the addition of soft play areas and a ball pool for the little ones.  Some of the highlights include the Bull Pen indoor play area, the Raging Bulls Ride, Pat-aPet and the Mini tractors.  Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close to the farm animals and try some bottle feeding.

A fantastic attraction with something for everyone.  Combining rides, activities and exhibitions it's all here in the one place. Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website.  Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001.  The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.
Springfields Fun Park & Pony Centre - PL15 8EU

If the weather is good then children can take advantage of the vast open space to run around and play, enjoy pony rides, train rides, trampolines and Go-Karts and explore the nature trails.
