The Old Coach House Reviews

Wonderful holiday thank you X
Kayleigh
The old coach house is stunning we were a family of 12 staying. There was something for everyone and devon it's self is beautiful.
Lesley
The house is beautiful, and just as shown in the photos. We were a party of 8 adults, 3 young children and 2 babies, and there was plenty of room for us all to never feel crowded. The house was immaculate and there were some kind touches for when we arrived eg. provisions, wine and flowers. Also the children were so excited to find the chocolate coins in the safe! Parking was no problem as we were able to fit 3 cars on the drive and there was always parking space just across the road for our other car. One would have to be extremely picky to find fault with this house. The only things which might have helped us a little would be a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs and the fastening on the hot tub cover to be repaired we were always a little worried one of the children might be able to open it All in all a superb house. Thank you.
Stunning property exactly as described. Owner so helpful and friendly. Area was great and everything within walking distance or busable. We'll definitely come back one day!
A perfect property for friends and family to gather for a 60th birthday celebration. Renovated to a very high specification, the Old Coach House provided space and comfort for everyone. The hot tub was also much appreciated! We would not hesitate to return.
The old Coach house was perfect for our stay. We were three families and the property layout worked really well. The children loved the Hot Tub even in October! The owners wete very friendly and welcoming.
My family and I have just had a wonderful week at The Old Coachhouse, Braunton, North Devon where we celebrated my 80th birthday. There were 11 of us and with 6 spacious bedrooms and 6 bathrooms all had their own privacy. All the accommodation was perfect, kitchen, dining room and lounge were all large and very well equipped. We hired a chef to cook for us on my birthday who was fantastic, wonderful food and service second to none. In fact one of the best experiences of my life. The owners, Paul and Allison, who live nearby, couldnt be more nicer and helpful, they even put together a welcome pack for us on arrival. I would highly recommend this holiday home.
We had a lovely stay. Very comfortable.
Stayed at the old coach house for a week as a family 13 7 adults, 5 kids, 1 baby for my father in laws 70th birthday. What an absolutely stunning property! It was everything and more that we could have wished for! There was ample room for us all, the beds were super comfy, the living room was big enough for us all to sit and relax, the crab shack and hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed by the adults and the kids! We honestly couldnt have found a more perfect place, my father in law was absolutely over the moon! Having the separate dining room worked perfectly for the night we hired a private chef as a surprise, the food and service was incredible and Id highly recommend doing it for a special occasion! The only thing that would have also been great was having a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs as well as the top just because we had 2 very adventurous little boys that love climbing lol! But it was no problem, there were enough eyes on them to stop them going up! Overall a perfect stay and wouldnt hesitate to return!
From a family of 12infant. A really lovely well equipped house. Comfortable large beds and all with bathrooms! Kitchen great with a good range of cooking equipment. Large dining room so all the family can fit in and move around. There is a basic BBQ in the garden for those who are lucky enough to have good weather to use it. Now parking, we fitted 3 SUVs and a VW large van on the drive but don't be fooled by the picture you only have half the drive. Beaches not far away and you can walk to the shops. You will be thoroughly spoilt with this holiday home, so enjoy it. Thank you Lisa and Paul for the wine, juice and milk etc. A lovely thought. A truly lovely house.
Beautiful property in a great location. We had a lovely week here. Highly recommended.
Great property that had recently been renovated and provided everything we were hoping for. Lovely location in a small town with several pubs and restaurants. Very clean, tidy and enjoyed the hot tub.
This property was everything we had hoped for and more! We were a party of 6 adults and 3 children, ages 8 twins and 12 and we were celebrating my 70th birthday. Everything was perfect and we especially liked the quirky touches, especially in the Crab Shack and ET overlooking the hot tub which had plenty of use! The owners live next door and are friendly and helpful but never intrusive. Our Grandson loved the Xbox. The bedrooms were lovely, and the number of bathrooms meant we were all able to shower and get ready at our leisure. The weather was very kind for the beginning of April and we were able to visit beaches at Saunton, Woolacombe and Puttsborough which are all nearby plus trips to Lynton & Lynmouth and beautiful Clovelly. This property is superb and the owners should be very proud of what they have achieved in renovating this wonderful house.
Really enjoyed our stay in a fabulous property. Very well equipped, lots of room and good quality decor and furnishings. Comfortable beds. All lovely and everything to a very high standard. The friendly owner who lives next door chatted to us and made us feel welcome. Would thoroughly recommend. One tiny suggestion robe hooks on the bathroom doors would be great.
We were a party of ten, staying for a 60th Birthday, found The Old Coach House to be an amazing place to stay, beautifully furnished, very clean and comfortable, with good faclities. Really did not want to leave!
We had an amazing time in this cottage and was perfect for what we needed. Our group does a similar trip every year and this was best house we have stayed in with plenty of room to sit down to eat at the table together and watch the tv together usually it is all a bit cramped. Also amazing that every room had an ensuite and the crab shack was a lovely addition to the house! We got some great recommendations for a takeaway to watch the rugby on Saturday evening from the host and also had a lovely roast at The Rock Inn would really recommend.
This is indeed a quite superb property ideally situated, immaculately clean with all the comforts of home . ...plus much more ! We were made up of 4 couples 1 with differing taste, I guess, on style and design ....yet the hosts Allison and Paul have 'pulled together' a very tasteful and quirky array of furniture & additions making it so comfortable, unique and fun. The outdoor space coupled with the spacious rooms easily accommodated us all, noting all bedrooms were indeed on the large side. The kitchen is worthy of special praise with designer units, worktops and all facilities required. The property is located within easy walking distance of the Town so the ample car parking space saw all our cars safely parked away for the long weekend. The hosts have done a fantastic job in making this a quite superb place to stay and enjoy. Having some experience in the hospitality field I can only be in awe of what has been achieved here.
The property was certainly worth five stars. Our group was three generations of family and the accommodation catered for everyone. It had a very well equipped kitchen and a utility room, and all the rooms, including the bedrooms, were very spacious. It was also a bonus that all bedrooms had en suites, thus saving queuing for the bathroom! We loved the hot tub and the younger generation the Crab Shack table football and darts. We had in expectantly good weather for the time of the year so did a lot of walking and rock climbing on the beaches and, of course, paddling! Highly recommend this lovely house and hope to return!
Outstanding accommodation with everything you need for a great holiday. The kitchen was fabulous, superb lounge, large dining room and hot tub was great. The beds were comfortable and a great size....
We have just returned from a week's stay at this beautiful house. There were 8 of us in our family group 6 adults plus a 14yr old teenager and a 5 yr old child. We were absolutely delighted when we arrived to find an immaculately clean and beautifully presented house with loads of space inside and a lovely area outside for everyone to enjoy. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless and everyone had plenty of room to relax with no worries about queuing for bathrooms or taking turns in showers. Although my husband and I don't like to use hottubs, the rest of the family loved it and it certainly looked super clean and well maintained as was the whole property. The furniture was plentiful for our large group and the decor was lovely with some quirky touches around! We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a family holiday. The communication with the owners couldn't have been better any questions were quickly answered and they were most helpful. We had 3 large cars between us and there was no problem fitting them all onto the driveway the lane outside though is quite narrow! We walked into the small town most nights where there were plenty of shops, bars etc. Squires fish and chips must be sampled! We were also very lucky with the weather 7 days of sunshine and we went to the nearest 3 beaches Saunton Sands, Croyde and Woolacombe all delightful apart from too many dogs on Saunton Beach! It was all just fabulous and, if you are considering making a booking here, then don't hesitate it's perfect and you'll LOVE it!
Excellent location and facilities. The children in our party particularly liked the Crab Shack.
We had a fabulous family holiday at the Old Coach House in Braunton. The property is beautiful lots of room and really well resourced the owners have thought of everything. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the Crab Shack. Its in a great spot with easy access to the amazing beaches, shops and cafesrestaurants. Squires the very popular local fish & chip shop does a click & collect if you order online no queuing! Good communication from the owners and Lisa the housekeeper was so very helpful.
I booked this property for a family gettogether, and I wasn't disappointed. The house was tastefully furnished and very clean. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped, and the Grandchildren enjoyed the Crab Shack, Hot Tub and xbox games, as did the adults. The house is a short walk from the Centre of Braunton which has pubs, a variety of shops, including a Coop and nice Fish & Chip shop, and a large Tesco supermarket nearby. Saunton Sands, only a few miles away, is ideal for surfing, has a large car park and some tasty food outlets. Croyde, Woolacombe Barricane Beach and Ilfracombe are also worth a visit. We all enjoyed our stay at The Old Coach House and were sorry when our holiday came to an end.
Fantastic house plenty of space for a holiday for a large family group. Great living spaces, wonderful outdoor areas and the crab shack was a treat for kids and adults! Well located for a quick whizz down to Saunton and Croyde, whilst being an easy stroll into Braunton with all amenities.
Rachael
We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Lots of space for 3 families and the court yard is perfect for kids to run around safely. We liked it so much we will come back. great location by Saunton Sands and Braunton is a lovely little town with great cafes. One thing that would make it even better is a BBQ
Great family holiday at the Old Coach House in Braunton. Our group of eleven ranged from 25 years old to 88 years old and the property catered for us all fantastically well right from the lovely welcome pack in the Kitchen to the well stocked fridge in the bar
Everything was ideal, really first class. What was missing, was the teapot!!
Callum
Absolutely beautiful rental home with so much space. Lots of kids entertainment such as football table, darts, hot tub and board games, Xbox etc. The bedrooms are all fantastic and super comfortable all with en suites. We loved this place and will be definitely coming back thats for sure. 5 stars
Rosemary
We found everything was perfect for our stay. It was very clean, plenty of room for all of us, beautiful house x
We were delighted with our stay at the Old Coach House and everyone was excited as we explored on our arrival. The whole family appreciated the Crab Shack facilities, the bar being put to good use. The Hot Tub proved very popular, particularly with those who had enjoyed the days surfing at the nearby beaches. Altogether a wonderful holiday together.
Theresa
We had a fabulous stay. The property was very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. The bedrooms were lovely and each has it's own bathroom, and we loved the spacious living areas. The owners had left fresh flowers and a basket of easter eggs which was a lovely touch. The whole place felt comfortable and luxurious. Would definitely recommend.
Richard
The Old Coach House was excellent. The whole family enjoyed our stay there from our grandchildren 6,6,9 & 10 and their parents to myself and my wife. The house was extremely comfortable, it had just about everything we could wish to have. There were plenty of cups, crockery and cutlery for all twelve of us. we didn't use the laundry room, so I can't comment on that but the kitchen was great two large ovens, brilliant induction hob, gas wok ring, large sink and a surprising instant hot water tap. The garden area contained a hot tub that was used daily and a large picnic table for twelve when the weather is warmer. Also the 'Crab Shack' was a great surprise, i'll say no more. The drive was big enough to get 4 cars on. Ok there may have been a bit of shuffling of cars at times but no one found it to be a problem. We chatted with the owners next door who were friendly and helpful. I can't recommend The Old Coach House highly enough.
Very nice house. We had not realised from the photo that it was so close to other houses. The parking bit difficult. As such a big house catering for so many, one would expect a few cars. Only room for 3 and have to shunt around a lot to get out. Otherwise all good!
Doreen
The Owners were friendly and helpful. The house is so well appointed and the owners have really thought about what the guest might need. We loved the location. Lots of lovely things to do and places to see just a short drive away. The hot tub was a real plus too! Thank you for making our stay so lovely. We would love to stay again.
Jennifer
A lovely comfortable modern house with the added amenity of the hot tub. The property was enjoyed by all especially as it was a last minute choice. It's close proximity to the coast was ideal, along with country walks in all directions. A highly recommendable property and welcoming owners. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful house, really well equipped, lots of lovely personal touches and fantastic location!
Rachel
We had a lovely holiday, the house was bigger than it looked in the photos and works really well, our hosts were really helpful with tips on where to go and what see. Would definitely recommend!
Accurate listing and very well equipped house in an amazing location. Could do with a hand blender and mixer for cookingmaking soup but otherwise spot on! Nice to have owners next door who were v helpful. We had a fantastic happy 60th Birthday celebration hols.
The facilities and space were fantastic but I've downgraded because of the dishes and glasses. The plates and bowls were extremely heavy we could only carry 3 or 4 at a time. The wine glasses were too tall to fit in the dishwasher and I think should be replaced for conventional size glasses. I also recommend that you suggest approaching the house from the west end of the road as the shorter route from the east is very narrow and blocks easily. Apart from these issues the house exceeded expectations.
We had an amazing time, the house was excellent, perfect location for town. Only suggestion would be to have some loungersdeckchairs for casual seating in the garden. Such a lovely space to relax in.
