Located on the outskirts of Llanybydder, in West Wales, is this superb cottage, Field View. Internally, the owners have created a smart and warming retreat for couples seeking a rural escape to Wales.

Stepping inside, be welcomed into an open-plan living space with a sofa to curl up and unwind into the evening whilst catching up with your favourite shows. The kitchen has been fitted to a high-standard with delightful cream units and sleek wooden worktops providing all the necessary appliances needed to cook up some delicious meals.

Gather at the small breakfast bar to enjoy a hearty breakfast whilst planning the day's events. Once the evening draws to a close, retire to the king-size bedroom which benefits from its own balcony where you can take a cup of tea of a morning and delight in those stunning rural views, whilst the en-suite shower room provides deluxe fixtures and fittings for you to enjoy.

Take a refreshing beverage out to the enclosed garden area where you can dine alfresco, or take a dip in the private hot tub and let those bubbling jets work their magic on your tired muscles. There's also an enclosed dog exercise area, where your pets can run safely and freely.

The property is located right on the edge of the Llanllwni mountains, where keen walkers, cyclists and horse riders can enjoy the open countryside. You are close to many rivers and lakes for all manner of watersporting activities, particularly fishing and kayaking.

Further north is the Cambrian mountains, rich with wildlife and some of the most magnificent views imaginable. Also nearby are towns such as Lampeter for accessing some other traditional eateries and independent shops.

Make sure you visit the underground adventure of Dolaucothi gold mines, owned by the National Trust. The property also benefits from being a scenic car journey away from the west coast of Wales and its picturesque beaches for those quieter afternoons, as well as the ancient market town of Aberystwyth and Devil's Bridge for all manner of tourist attractions available.

Lovely stay in this perfect little cottage. The owners, Chris and Steph, are terrific and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The views from the cottage are spectacular and it is wonderfully quiet apart from the occasional passing car or farm vehicle. Although we didn't have time to use the hot tub it looks very inviting especially at night when, if it is clear, the stars are brilliant with no light pollution. Would thoroughly recommend for a very relaxing break.

Field View apartment was very quiet and peaceful. The deck overlooking the fields was a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The hottub was great to sooth muscles after a day of hiking to castles or through beautiful gardens a short drive away. A 15 minute drive took us to a great store so we could cook our own meals in the well supplied kitchen. We spent a wellrested 10 days at Field View, it's a great base from which to explore southwest Wales!

This was such a wonderful break to decompress and write! We both spent ages in the hot tub, reading on the sofa, sitting on the balcony writing. It was exactly what we needed. Watching bunnies hop around in the opposite field and cows graze while the sun set priceless.

This was our second visit to Field View and again a first class stay. New owners Chris and Steph were so welcoming...the perfect hosts. Field View the perfect place to get away from the routine of everyday life. Everything you need is there including the Hot Tub...morning noon and night. A good base for getting out and about by car or walking and local transport. We look forward to a return visit in 2025....still so many places we wish to find and visit. Amazing stay at field view cottage. The lovely cottage had everything that we needed. A nice balcony to have morning teacoffee and breakfast. A lot of cooking equipment which made our live easier. The cottage was very clean and owners are very accommodating and just generally nice people who want you to have an excellent time. The exercise area for our dog was perfect before bed and in the mornings and the hot tub was lovely. The bed was very cosy and comfortable and shower and taps all worked very well. Will definitely be back here to stay next year!

Steph and Chris made us feel very welcome were friendly and helpful. thanks for tea, coffee and Welsh cakes Kai our dog loved it he could not wait to go in enclosed dog field which was great for him. The cottage was clean, very comfortable and cosy. We enjoyed the views of the fields, the hot tub was amazing and very well maintained daily. It was so relaxing and surrounding area also lovely and about 30mins to the coast hope to return.

Chris and Steph very welcoming when we got there and made a fuss of Opal dog quickly showed around and left us to it telling us to knock on if had any questions. Lovely little cottage with everything you need including some great little extras tea coffee milk Welsh cakes robes and sliders for when using the hot tub. Very clean and well presented throughout had everything we needed. Well situated to go and see lots of places with a local shop. Would defo go back!

Nice cottage and hot tub in a good location for seeing Newquay, Aberaeron, Lampeter, Mwnt beach, Brechfa forest etc. Very friendly new owners Steph and Chris. Our dog Bella loved it too.

A little remote for us, could get internet so only had free view, weather horrible, out of anyones control! ! Would have liked some shelter over hot tub so could have used it whatever the weather. Everything you need inside for cooking etc & lovely & clean

We had a great time at Field View. The property had everything we needed and we felt very welcomed. Enjoyed beautiful walks during the day and relaxing evenings in the hot tub, was exactly the holiday we were looking for.

The cottage was really nice and clean with everything you needed for a great stay. The hot tub was amazing and the hosts were very friendly and accomadating. In close proximity to the cottages were many increadable beaches for paddle boarding, and swimming safely. we saw and swam close to the dolphins which was an amazing experience. We thorougly enjoyed our break in South Wales and woukld reccomend this venue to anyone wishing to visit this area. Paula John.

An enjoyable week in this cosy property, in spite of the typical 'Welsh' weather we had. The dog exercise area was appreciated and the local village was bigger than we expected ,with everything you could need, apart, maybe, from a chip shop. Very comfortable bed with adjacent ensuite and a lovely little balcony overlooking the nearby fields.

We had a lovely week here the cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The hot tub was a little added luxury. Its located in a great spot for exploring the south and west coast.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage. The cottage was clean, modern and private. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. We were left to our devices but knew the owners were there if we needed. The hot tub was warm 24 hours and well maintained. We did not take our dog in the end but had we done so there were good facilities for one. Definitely recommend.

Can't fault our stay at Field View, the owners were very friendly and accommodating and checked with us if there was anything we needed. The only thing I would say is I would have liked to have a Hoover to have cleaned before we left, but this may have been available on request as I didn't ask for one.

Aggie our Labrador loved the fenced off run around area staring at the bunnies through the fence. Hot tub really great even in the rain. Lovely little holiday home, in a really quaint area. Owners are more than helpful with any questions you may have. Even managed to leave my phone charger at the properly and they posted this back to me with no questions asked which was really lovely and they didnt need to do this. The only slight feedback I could give is maybe a new sofa as the one currently in the living room is not the comfiest of the largest. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay.

This was our 2nd holiday this year to Field View. As good as our 1st holiday. It's on the outskirts of a lovely Welsh village. The cottage was very clean and well equiped. The owners are lovely and friendly. Hot tub is lovely. Nice dog walking safe field to exercise our dog

Just got back from an amazing 5 days at Field View. Everything was perfect, from before I even arrived when I received an email asking for my choice of milk for a welcome pack greatly appreciated when I was travelling alone with my dog, and nipping to a shop isn't as easy!, through to a very informative and friendly Zohra meeting me and the equally informative welcome folder. The cottage was spotless and had everything you could imagine you would need and then more. I was a little unsure about it being right on a road beforehand but you really don't hear much at all, especially when you make use of the hot tub after a full days walking the beautiful area. You hear the sheep more than the cars which I loved! If you thinking about it definitely book you will not be disappointed.

Dinefwr Park and Castle is the perfect place to come if you like the great outdoors. These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.

Merlin Hill Centre - SA67 8BP

about 14 Miles

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!

National Botanic Garden of Wales - SA32 8HN

about 15 Miles

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs. They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn. With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience. You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
