Park the cars and walk up the steps to the sleek black and wood-clad lodge. Inside, the open-plan layout embraces a studio-style design, seamlessly blending modern aesthetics with natural materials.

The space is thoughtfully arranged, allowing for a harmonious flow between the living, dining, and sleeping areas. Upon entering this single-storey abode, you will be greeted by a spacious king-size bed, promising a rejuvenating sleep after a day of exploration.

Slide open the doors to freshen up in the sleek shower room, boasting a walk-in shower, basin, and WC. The open-plan living area houses a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for conjuring up romantic meals for two and a dining room with seating for two guests.

Enjoy your morning coffee at the breakfast bar, taking in the stunning views through the window. The sitting room, complete with a TV and a toasty woodburning stove, is the perfect spot to curl up with a good book or catch up on your favourite shows.

This National Trust site is one of the finest in Wales. The stunning castle was once a medieval fortress and has been remodelled several times over the last 400 years. The Great Hall is home to some amazing collections of paintings as well as sculptures and tapestries. The gardens are world famous with stunning areas of French and Italian style as well as a gorgeous orangery. Children's activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas.

The area is abundant with wildlife and you can see how many species you can spot while enjoying the nature trails. The park also has a large children play area and a licensed café. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.
