Mountain View Reviews

We had a lovely stay here, loved the pod and added bonus was the hot top, although we struggled to make it hot, felt only luke warm. We also couldnt get channels on the TV. Aside from those minor issues, we would definitely recommend.
We had a few niggling issues with the property but it did not detract much from a lovely break. . the bottom locking bold on the front door was snapped so wouldn't lock. The screws on the door handle mechanism were hanging out as too we're the bottom door hinge screes making the door difficult to lock and Insecure. Only half of the fout slice toaster worked. There were no channels on the newly installed television . I had to figure out how to install them. The aerial was an indoor type and gave poor reception after I had managed to find the channels. Only half the jets on the hot tub worked. . We were there for for nights and had only two towels to use after the hot tub or shower. We asked for fresh towels in reception but never got any. We also reported the door the television and the hot tub issues.and were told they would let the owner know..wedont ever complain and these are only attention to detail problems. The views and local walks are stunning
The whole complex was beautiful, the hobit huts looked especially nice but not pet friendly which is a real shame. My pod was comfortable, but unfortunately the weather was not kind so I checked out 3 days early as the wind and rain was too much. Nothing to do with the complex but I couldn't keep the dogs dry when coming back into the pod. I would like to return but in the summer.

I surprised my partner with a week get away for his birthday in November. We both absolutely loved our stay. Although some minor signs of wear and tear it did not detract from the cabins charm and beauty and we had an extremely comfortable stay. The cabin was immaculate and excellent use of space making th area feel cosyand romatic. We loved the hot tub once we figured out how to use it and get it warm. Fresh and clean and one of the staff came and discreetly checked it most days. There was only a 2 ring induction hob and microwave to cook with, but I was aware of this prior to booking, so took an air fryer with us to help cook meals. We loved that there was a wide range of pamphlets in one of the draws, of places to visit in the area and upon our arrival, there was a pint of milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, hot chocolate thoughtfully provided, which was very welcome after a long drive. The Local village and major supermarket were only a short drive away, as well as some local sights to see. Overall we felt the cabin was well situated to be a beautiful romantic escape, with lots of things to do and we have both said we would love to visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everyone, our only very slight negative was we struggled getting in and out of the bed being of an older generation and needing to get up for the loo many times in a night

Beautiful place very clean

A beautiful place, so peaceful and the Highland cattle were absolutely gorgeous! Lovely pod with everything you need for your stay. Bed a little difficult to get in and out of but very comfortable. Was lovely to be able to star gaze from the hot tub with a glass of wine. All in all a fabulous break and place to stay, will definatley recommend and will be visiting again.

Fantastic little accommodation with an amazing view. Very clean and tidy. Great little shed at the entrance where you can buy fresh eggs and cakes. Did not realise it didn't have an oven! Lovely large garden space but the dog could get out under the gate. Clean and inviting hot tub. Very close to Elan Valley, Rhayader and the kite feeding. You do need a car to get around.

I was really impressed with the property and the little details you added such as the bottle of milk, and the little jars of coffee, tea and sugar. Gemma was also extremely helpful when I had a query. And the views was just incredible! My only critique would be in regards to the directions as phone reception up to the location wasnt great, I would recommend amended the what3words as I used that and it took me about 2 miles further away from where you were. And I would also recommend maybe a mini site map as it took me about 5 minutes to find the cabin only because there were no signs. But overall was a great stay. Now I know where it is, definitely booking it again!
Had a great couple of nights, the property was perfect and with it being completely fenced off we could let our puppy run around in confidence that he would not escape. Will definitely return
Joshua
An all round amazing place to stay with stunning views. Me and my wife had a great time. The only issue we had was finding the place as the postcode takes you somewhere else and the directions could be better but apart from that everything else was great!

Very relaxing, clean and quiet. Bed was so comfy and hot tub was well kept.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here at Mountain View for 2 nights on Easter bank holiday 2021. It was the first time we had been away on a holiday since November 2019, before the world became engulfed by Covid19. On arrival, there weren't any signposts for the site itself, nor was there any to indicate where our particular pod was. But it didn't take us long to drive around a little before we managed to find it. The hot tub was heated ready for our arrival and was beautiful to sit in with a glass of prosecco watching the sun go down over the mountains. The pod was clean and comfortable and had a hand sanitiser attached to the wall outside which was handy. The patiogarden area was really spacious and would be lovely for BBQ season at summertime! The only 23 negatives about our pod was that the shower was scorching hot and we couldn't stay in there for more than 3 minutes because it was so hot and the bathroom door didn't shut properly and didn't have a lock. Also there were no instructions on how to switch on the outdoor lights and we couldnt figure out how to turn them on this didn't really matter much as the hot tub had lights so we put those on but would have been nice to have the outdoor lights on too. We didn't mind these issues so much as they were only minor it didn't affect our enjoyment of the stay. It was peaceful, no traffic, everyone who was on site was quiet and the pods are spaced out generously. On our full day there, we went for a long walk along the resoirvoir at Elan Valley and that is an absolute must see!! I wish I could post a photo to show you the views it was beautiful!! Also the little town of Rhayader which is the oldest town in Mid Wales is literally a 4 minute drive away with good access for parking. It was an amazing few days away and it was the most relaxed we had felt in a longggg time, since before Covid19! Thank you for a lovely weekend and we are already looking to book again!
Brittany
Beautiful place, and the lodge was lovely. However, there was no hot water for 2 nights, and it was 0 degrees over the weekend. We contacted the owners, they sent someone out Saturday afternoon, said theyd fixed it but when we came back it was still freezing. So another man was sent out and he was also unable to fix the water even after trying for 45 minutes. By this time it was 78pm. We were offered a shower but our two nights were pretty much over by that point. We had a lack of correspondence with the owner throughout the week especially when it came down to refunds, didnt hear from them for 4 days. And then when they did, they said Id have to go through Sykes for a refund anyway. 325 and not hot water in the middle of winter, just is very inconvenient.
Stacey
We particularly loved the enclosed garden for our dog, as we could allow to roam around freely. Plus the hot tub was amazing. the hut was super cozy and warm! Which I wasnt expecting!
We had a fantastic couple of nights, a much needed break away. The pod was so cute and surprisingly more spacious than expected which was great! Plenty of room for the two of us without feeling cramped. The hot tub was fantastic and particularly great after our 21k hike on our full day there. Views were stunning and we felt very safe staying there in this strange Covid world today. We were gutted that we could not write in the visitor book as we didnt bring a pen with us on the holiday! The only thing I can think of for improvement would be some basic instructions on use of the electrics eg. Hob, heater and exterior lights. Needless to say we will definitely be back for longer next time. Thank you for a much needed and lovely stay.
Great location if you have pets, just left alone to enjoy yourself
Lovely, peaceful place. Great people. Carnt wait to go back again
Abigail
Lovely mini break for my partners 30th birthday. A home away from home. The pod was very clean, surprisingly spacious and had breathtaking views. The hot in is a massive added bonus which we used every night. The town is a small drive away with a lovely tea room the old swan. Me and my partner had a lovely time and will definitely be going back!
It couldnt have been better. We had the most amazing time and will definitely be going there again!
We absolutely loved staying in Mountain view. We will definitely be staying again. Such beautiful views.

The cabin was really nice, warm when we arrived and cosy to be in. There was some lovely farm made refreshments there for us on arrival. The scenery was beautiful. So peaceful and quiet. The hot tub was amazing. The location of the cabin was great, the town down the road was very nice and every person we met were pleasant. Highly recommend it to anybody looking to escape the city for a weekend!
Rebecca
It was a wonderful seasonal break away from home.
Brilliant holiday to mid wales! Perfect location and very welcoming, lovely owners!
Had a really good time at this location. The views where lovely and the lodge was cosy with ample outside space for our dog. We spent lots of time using the hot tub located outside the lodge even in minus temperatures whilst it was snowing. The owners are very nice and was always a call away if we needed anything. However, the only feedback for improvements would be 1. Better directions provided viable signs at the location. 2. The induction hob was very difficult to use at times with the touch screen controls not functioning well and food sticking to the pans and then burning. 3. Hot water within the property was not hot, it was just warm. Apart from the feedback, this is an absolutely amazing place to stay and we have recommended to many of our family and friends already. We look forward to returning again soon!

The sensational views from just outside our little pod, and the hot tub top the holiday off. Staff were on hand to help With anything we needed

Absolutely fantastic location with breathtaking views, lodge was very clean and well presented,it would benefit from an extractor system when cooking and the toilet seat was broken but none of these bothered us,we will definately be using the lodge again
Gareth
Mountain view was a beautiful place and so peaceful a perfect place for anyone to visit the surrounding area was perfect for long scenic walks and a small town five minutes away fo all the essentials.
Jessica
The map of where the cabin I am staying is needs updating as it is actually on the opposite side of the road. Also arrived to find other people in our cabin who had been advised by Sykes the day before to move into that cabin. I was then on hold for approx 25 mins waiting to get through to someone who didnt know what had happened and said that they would try to call the owner and then they would get back to me to update me. Thankfully the owner called me after about 15 mins to say that we had been swapped to another cabin and that Sykes has been made aware of this the day before. I didnt receive a call back from Sykes to update me for another 2 hours when they asked whether we still couldnt get into our property. We should have been notified before we arrived that our lodge has been swapped and the communications at Sykes really needs improving. After a 5 hour drive this is not what you want to start your holiday, very disappointing.
Claire
It was so much better than expected, more than enough space for the 2 of us, clean and so comfortable. Hot tub was incredible and such a good extra! The location is ideal for a quiet and peaceful break, it was close enough to the local town and theres lots to do around the area. Garden was well maintained, and fenced off making it private. Because of the space between the other huts, you couldnt hear any noise from other people. Super peaceful at night, on clear nights we could sit in the hot tub and look at the stars... lush! 2 hobs and a microwave was more than enough to cook on for a few days, dishwasher was useful but an oven might be more useful. Have already recommended it to friends and family and are looking at rebooking next year!
Absolutely gorgeous pod with high quality furniture and finishings. Very clean on arrival. Hot tub a lovely relaxing touch. Perfectly quiet and tranquil area. Loved the sheep in the field and watching the red kites fly overhead. Will definitely book here again.
Absolutely amazing! The owners have this site 100 perfect! Probably one of the best holidays that we have ever been on!! We will definitely be back soon!
Rachel
Fantastic pod in a peaceful location, only negative is no oven I would swop ... Fantastic pod in a peaceful location, only negative is no oven I would swop the dishwasher for an oven as that's not really needed for a party of 2

We stayed here in June. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommend. Beautiful surrounding. Hot tub was a little dirty with stones and not all jets worked and wasnt on when we arrived so we had to wait 24 hours to go in other than that we cannot fault it. Will Definatly return.
Fab site, stunning views all excellent!
Was a realy nice 2 nights away, was nice and clean n beautiful views! Only down fall was the hot tub was broken so only half the jets worked and it wasnt clean but apart from that was realy nice
Georgia
This was our first cabinhot tub holiday and WOW! we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and so did our boxer pup it was a beautiful place with amazing views. 1010 and we would definitely come back.
Incredible place in a great location. I would swap the dish washer for an oven, but its a tiny point. My dog loved running around the garden and we had some amazing times on the premises and around the area. Highly recommended.
Absolutely perfect! Location was stunning for views and very peaceful. It was also within good reach of the town itself which had plenty of facilities such as shops, tea rooms and pubs. The accommodation was clean and had everything you needed. Will definitely be returning!
