Milton Green Farm Reviews

Michael
Great house for a large family gathering. Well equipped especially in the kitchen. Being an old house there are a few bits and pieces not quite working right, like lots of light bulbs off and the heating system coming on and off at at weird times, but an accommodating owner and masses of room made up for all that! It would have been good to be able to let the dogs roam outside but the gates are not working so the dogs had to remain on leads. Overall we had a great time and would recommend this house for large family groups. We were six adults and two children under five plus two dogs.
Penelope
The owner Nigel is very nice and very helpful. The property is lovely and spacious. Quiet and well situated. Warm and well furnished. Beds clean and comfortable. My only suggestion for improvement would be that the kitchen needs to be better equipped with fresh pans and trays of better quality and cleaner kitchen equipment. A pint of milk on arrival would have been nice, for that all important cup of tea after a long drive, but prosecco was left which was kind! I hope that this is helpful. It is a lovely place to stay would recommend.
A fantastic property that was able to accommodate a large family holiday, greatly equipped kitchen, and lots of spaces to sit and relax and the hot tub a bonus. Lots of wildlife to watch whilst at the dining table all in a lovely setting
Our family of 11 enjoyed our stay. The house is quiet and clean, a bit gloomy its an old house so the windows are small but it has every facility you could wish for. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms and showers were very modern and efficient. The hot tub was used daily as was the games room the spiders!!. The welcome gifts of Prosecco and cake were a nice touch. There is a superb fishing facility right next door, and a pleasant county walk across the fields and footpaths. The only cons were the oven if you want to cook e.g. frozen chips for a large family you should allow way more time than usual, even on the highest setting. You should also be aware that the house is landlocked there are no pavements if you want to walk to the village, so you need a car to go anywhere, and the village shop prices are skyhigh, so make sure you do a big shop at the nearest supermarket in Chester. Overall however, it is a pleasant place to stay for a relaxing holiday.
Susanne
Wonderful big farmhouse with enough space for our party of 10 adults and a dog. All the home comforts you could ask for and gates on the garden so our four legged friend could potter around on his own. Fantastic location near Chester, Wrexham and Welsh beaches. Added bonus for us was having calves and lambs as neighbours in the adjoining field.
Caroline
This was a really lovely holiday let. We were walking the Sandstone Trail and the position was great. Very comfortable and spacious. Comfy beds. We loved the hot tub! Big kitchen reasonably well equipped. Very reasonably priced.
Christine
We had a great time at the house nicer than the photos appears fantastic bedrooms & bathrooms very clean & well maintained house in general Beds werent the most o comfortable soft saggy mattresses ! But overall we loved it lots for everyone with two tv rooms table tennis etc would suggest a small slide or something for the smaller children though
Michelle

A lovely farmhouse which seemed to be in the middle of nowhere but had very easy access to Chester. Thank you Nigel for coming back to explain the heating to us.
Spencer
A very nice relaxing stay 2nd time weve been to this property. Everything you want or need is provided for. A great location for us. A visit to Chester is a must walled city shops, Liverpool is within easy reach too.
Lovely little farm cottage was spacious, homely, kept to a clean standard inside the cottage and outside on the grounds. As we were two families with 7 children of various ages from 6 weeks old to 16 years old, all children were entertained and loved their stay. Theres a little entertainment area outside with a mini pool table and table tennis which the kids enjoyed and went outside to play with regularly. We spent 2 days out and visited Knowsley Safari Park 45 mins away and the Ice Cream Farm 10 minutes away a lovely little establishment for families with young children and would highly recommend visiting. We really couldnt fault the farm cottage as it had all the amenities needed to enjoy our stay and be home from home, so the only little critique I would suggest to make the accommodation more family friendly is I would love to see a little park area outside for the little ones to go on and let off steam for when the adults just want to stay at the cottage to chill and relax as that wouldve helped to keep the kids entertained a little morebut apart from that, we really couldnt fault our staycation and would highly recommend to friends and family. Weve always believed on visiting different places to explore and enjoy but we would come back here as we loved it that much.
Lovely property with ample space for us all. The owner lives next door and was very helpful and friendly throughout our visit although the property is very private and the owners did not impose themselves on us. Great to have the hot tub to unwind in each day. Loads of dog friendly places to eat nearby. A visit to Rhyl miniature railway and marine crabbing lake recommended if you have small children. Chester zoo and Chester were lovely places to visit. Snowdon is about an hour and a half away. Go well prepared if you're climbing. Wrexham cinema 5 a ticket! Amazing value. Applegate antiques just up the road also has Harrybows dog friendly cafe. Great breakfast and amazing cakes! Lillys cafe a short drive away, also dog friendly and some lovely toasties. A short walk to the river Dee and iron bridge from the cafe. Cheshire Cat, good pub grub and dog friendly. We were 10 adults, 2 young children, 3 babies and 2 dogs and we enjoyed the property and surrounding area.
Yvonne
A beautiful very well appointed house. The photos dont actually do it justice! The bathrooms are spectacular and all the bedrooms have lovely curtains and linens. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The whole house is immaculate and very well equipped. We were unlucky enough to have a power outage on our first night but the owner, who is really helpful and friendly, brought candles and torches when we alerted him to the issue. The power problem also meant that the hot tub wasnt usable for the first 24 hours, as it hadnt heated sufficiently before the power went off at 9pm, and didnt reach temperature until mid afternoon on our 2nd day, which was very disappointing for our grandchildren. The owner however offered us an additional night but we werent able to take advantage of the offer due to school and work commitments. We had a wonderful family time overall though and would definitely recommend this lovely house.
Michael
All ten of us had a great time. Lovely friendly owners. Would recommend. Warm welcome and a stunning property.
Michelle
This is a beautiful property. We had a fabulous week in comfort and tranquility. Highly recommended. Very well furnished and equipped and very comfortable and clean. We were gutted to have to leave.
What a lovely home for a family break. It is so peaceful and comfortable. Everyone loved Milton Green Farm and the hot tub was very popularn
Alison
This is a superb property for a family holiday. The grandchildren absolutely loved the hottub and the games room. The location is also excellent, 20 minutes from Chester zoo and 10 minutes from the Park and Ride for Chester city centre. Thank you for everything!
Fantastic stay at Milton Green Farm. Everything was as advertised or better. So much space, lovely views and perfectly clean. Kids loved seeing all the animals in the surrounding fields. Great courtyard that we could close gates to so the dogs were contained. Hot tub lovely and a great size. Owners next door were really friendly and helpful even giving us fresh eggs from the hens! We will definitely love to return. Thanks for a great stay.
Property was amazing. ...clean and ideal for all the age groups we had to accommodate. Owners were on call and nearby for any help we needed. Would definitely recommend for any large group get together celebration. We had a memorable time.
Great place, beautiful, clean, owners very helpful, short drive to Chester and ... Great place, beautiful, clean, owners very helpful, short drive to Chester and lots of lovely pubs, would definitely book again
Franciscus
An amazing house with everything you need. Will recommend a stay for everyone
It would have been helpful to have been able to hv some contact with the owner keyholder we tried many times to make contact to establish what we were meant to do with all the recycling glass paper plastic tin et cetera and also what to di with towels and linen A lovely property but absolutely ridiculously inadequate small fridge for 12 adults and to have only one pathetic weak shower for four bedrooms is simply not acceptable ! ! The two very fancy baths Look lovely but are not remotely practical please ask the owner to put a shower in the second bathroom as a priority
We loved the property and all guests loved the hot tub and games room. Great proximity to Chester and local attractions. Thank you for the welcome pack, which included homemade cake. It was nice seeing the local wildlife including rabbits and hens. Safe place for the grandchildren in the courtyard with the gates securing the area. Very quiet at night. Thanks to the owners for a lovely presented property.
Kushlan
Very nice clean place, owner was very friendly helpful got fresh laid eggs.
Russell
We had an amazing stay. Best holiday we have ever had! Can't wait to go back. So comfortable and clean, great surroundings. Plenty of walks for the dog. Shops nearby. Nigel, the farmer, and his wife made us so welcome and even brought us fresh eggs to eat. So peaceful and we had such a relaxing stay. Some of us went to Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks and the Ice cream Farm. Would definitely recommend!!!!
Caroline
Lovely weekend stay with family in this property. Clean, comfortable, good accommodation for large family group. Good amenities in kitchen. Sadly didnt get to use games room. Hot tub always ready, clean and easy to remove cover. Lovely gardens and outdoor furniture for when the weather is good.
The property was ideal for our needs group cycling Our hosts, next door were friendly helpful and generous
Came here for a weekend away with my family. The size of this place is amazing! Having such big rooms, and so many bathrooms is a real plus when staying away with so many people 11 in total. We loved the hot tub, which is always ready to go, so no waiting around for it to warm up. The beds were really comfy and showers were lovely and hot. The kitchen and dining room is such a good size and a great place for socialising. The kitchen had literally everything you need. We loved our welcome package when we arrived, that was a really nice touch and means so much that the hosts thought about the small details. We took our dog and 3 children and they absolutely loved seeing all the animals so close everyday. The only thing I would say is if your dog is quite young, make sure to shut the gate closest to the games room. Leading onto the games room, this was a hit for all the family and kept us occupied for hours. The location was great, close to Chester and many other places, but far enough that you get the peace and quiet of the countryside. We really loved our stay here and would definitely recommend!
A beautiful, airy, spacious house that feels like home from home. Great location for visiting Chester, Delamere Forest, Bewilder Wood etc. Great to have sheep and cattle as your neighbours in the adjoining fields and the occasion chickens strutting past your door and rabbits on the front lawn in the evening. The Hot tub was a big hit with children and adults alike. A lovely place to stay.
We had a great weekend at Milton Green Farm. The history of the cottage is amazing, the facilities were great and each bedroom and bathroom was clean and contemporary. The owner was fantastic, nothing too much and helped us without question. Looking forward to come back!
Beverly
Fabulous 3 night stay between Christmas & New Year. Beautiful, comfortable and well equipped farmhouse. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time in the Milton Green house. The property is very spacious, clean and comfortable. The spa and games room were much appreciated and it was ideal for our family gettogether

Fantastic weekend in this cottage, lovely and comfortable, nice and clean, well ... Fantastic weekend in this cottage, lovely and comfortable, nice and clean, well equipped kitchen, friendly owner and lovely welcome pack and cake
Had a great week in the spacious & well kept accommodation. The kids loved the fact that the cottage is on a working farm & owner encouraged their interaction with the farm animals. Easy driven access to a number of decent country pubs & Chester attractions.
Great stay at a lovely big farmhouse for all the family. Nigel was an excellent host helping resolve issues when required with no fuss. The location was used for a daytrip to Liverpool, climbing Snowdon in the mist & rain and a day out in the Peak District at Bakewell and Monsal Dale. Lots of nearby attractions, things to do, etc. The 2 kids lover the Ice Cream Farm just down the road it's NOT an ice cream farm . . . it's a theme park for young children ! Would definitely recommend. Thanks to Sykes & Nigel
Absolutely beautiful house and location. Well equipped and furnished. Six adults and 2 dogs had a fabulous week and enjoyed all the area had to offer.
Spencer
A fantastic place to stay, warm, clean & cosy. It was so relaxing we wish we had a longer vacation. We will definitely look at booking again next year. It was also a great location to travel out from, with Cheshire Oaks only a short distance away.
Melany
The property was lovely, clean very comfortable. Very well stocked kitchen with cooking equipment. Hosts most helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed the area, places to visit, try the ice cream farm. The farm views were very nice. Hot tub is a nice 6 seater and very powerful jets but adjustable if you like less.
Spacious property in a great location for a family holiday. Lovely rural area but with plenty of places to visit nearby. Hot tub and games room great , hosts very helpful.
