The Boundary Annex Reviews

Angela
We had a fantastic time in this cottage which is so comfortable and warm. Very spacious , clean and tidy. The views are spectacular too. The owner and his daughter are very kind and caring people . The hot tub was fantastic and very relaxing every evening after a great day out.
Fantastic cottage in a very quite place. All you could need inc netflix .The bed is a superking so lots of room there.Shower is big and nice pressure for water.Cottage was nice and warm with underfloor heating.Constant hot water which was so nice. All the kitchen equipment you can need to cook most meals. The lounge has a great view from the front window ,2 sofas so lots of room to spread out, could possibly do with another small lamp as when the main light is off its a bit dark.Outside lovely area for dogs to run about all very safe .The hot tub is great ,so nice to sit in on a night and look at the stars as its a dark zone. What else can be said ? we will be going back !!

Very much a hidden gem. Luxury place to stay.
Another wonderful stay at The Boundary Annex. Weather was kind to us and we took advantage of the dry weather, spending so much time outdoors exploring the local area. Lots of walks and days out with our children and dog, topped off with evenings in the hot tub enjoying the peaceful countryside. Facilities and Gilbert were great, always on hand if we needed him. We will be back again.
This was our second stay at the Boundary Annex and prior to our visit really looking forward to another wonderful week. Such a beautiful home from home. Comfortable and spacious with everything you need. The views are superb from every angle and it soothes your spirit Gilbert is friendly and a wonderful host as is Emma. Our dog Bruno accompanied us again and was very safe in the enclosed areas next to the Annex and the raised patio area. Stunning sunsets and many places to visit close by including Bishops Castle, Clun and Montgomery. An absolute gem of a holiday home
Louise
The Annex is a hidden gem . We loved our stay . Everything was perfect . The hot tub an added bonus . Its so peaceful & we loved watching all the birds especially the Kites. The secure areas for our Labrador were great. We fell lucky with the weather & enjoyed relaxing days. Gilbert was great & friendly . We look forward to booking again .
The views are outstanding from the cottage with its big window and the garden on the hill. The cottage was a home from home feel, with all the bits you need, including kitchen roll, cling film, tin foil. Lovely and clean. A nice welcome pack on arrival. Great gas BBQ, and a welcomed hot tub after a long day walking. Nice and private with lovely discreet owners.
One of the best places we have stayed in for quite some time. Gilbert and Emma were the perfect hosts from initial arrival to departure. The bottle of prosecco and chocolates were a nice touch. The Boundary Annexe was spotless upon arrival, bed comfy and our cream retriever settled in immediately. Everything was there what you needed like home from home. The hot tub was amazing especially after long walks in the beautiful Shrooshire countryside. We will ve returning in the future. Look no further if you want a wonderful experience. Thank you both x
A lovely getaway from everything lovers are stay a week wasnt long enough lovely fire warm hot tub beautiful views

What an absolute gem of a holiday cottage. Booked it for my partners 50th birthday. Packed with everything you need for your stay including a bottle of bubbly, chocolates and milk. Gilbert & Emma were lovely and although Gilbert had to check the hot tub every morning you never knew he was there. The cottage was immaculate and so nicely decorated would love to live there including a christmas tree. Such beautiful scenary and so peaceful a great place to relax and recharge your batteries. Great secure areas for our 2 GSD's to stretch their legs. Would highly recommend 5, I will be recommending to all my friends those with and without dogs. Hoping to rebook in 2024. Thank you both for our great long weekend and have a lovely
Claire
Had a great stay. The owners were very helpful and friendly, but still felt very private. Beautiful location with lots of lovely walks. Outside tap a must with dogs as very muddy in November! Cottage was perfect lovely and warm and very comfortable. The hot tub was a bonus amd perfectly clean and well maintained. Don't think I have ever given 5s for all aspects, but would definitely return here.
The property is a great size, in a great location & Gilbert is very helpful. That said there were some elements which were not quite as described in the listing possibly Skye's errors. The owner's property being in close proximity actually means it is about 3mtrs away & the drive in the picture is their main access to their property. This means every time they come & go it is right in front of your windows & having the hot tub checked every morning means someone goes past the window & kitchen daily not making it very private. The Crown Inn is also in Wentnor, not Wetnor as per the listing and is also over 2 miles away we were disappointed to find we could not walk to it although it was fabulous!. The blue light in the bedroom for the heating controls was very bright at night & the shower area needed a good clean around the bottom. It is a shame as these things would have stopped us booking this property, we felt the listing misleading. That said the owner could not have more polite, friendly and welcoming. The hot tub was a lovely luxury but the dressing gowns and towel were only really ideal for very small people.
Adrian
Fantastic property in great setting. Everything we needed and the hot tub was lovely even in the rain ! Great walks from door and our spaniel was well catered for and loved it too. Welcome pack a nice touch. Thank you . Would definitely recommend this property.
Second stay at The Boundary Annex and once again we were not disappointed. Its a very unique place to stay in a breathtaking part of the UK. It has everything we needed for a family of four and our dog. We stayed local for exploring on some days and went further afield using it as a base on others. Gilbert is a lovely host and on hand for anything you need. The hot tub is one of the bonuses of the stay. We will return soon.
The Boundary Annex is an outstanding place for a break. A home from home, very comfortable and clean. The views from inside and outside the cottage are superb, unspoilt and constantly changing. It is very spacious inside and there is everything you need. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet there are many beautiful places to visit just a short drive away. Gilbert the owner was very kind and thoughtful and made us very welcome. We hope to book again when will be able to use the log burner. A wonderful holiday.
Louisa
Where to start! The Annex was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Gilbert was so helpful, cleaning the hut tub every day and being on hand for anything that we needed whilst also being unobtrusive. Fantastic area to stay with dogs as there are loads of local walks and ones to travel out too as well. The hot tub was out of this world, we done some star gazing and bubbly drinking while in there Tea, coffee, sugar, bubbly and milk all provided for our arrival so thoughtful. We all loved it and hopefully will be back! We ate at The Loopy Shrew in Shrewsbury great roast dinner and The Three Tuns in Bishop's Castle delicious food and lovely staff. We also visited Ludlow, Gregynog Hall great for walks and Bewdley on the Great Severn Railway from Bridgnorth. Lovely holiday, thanks to all at the Annex x
Michelle
Just back from my first visit at the Annex as a Solo Traveller and it was amazing, firstly I'd like to say The Boundary Annex will be all things to all people , for me it was a retreat. It's so peaceful, a million miles away from the rat race with the most amazing scenery. It was like staring at a painting. Set along a country lane with next to no traffic with cows, sheep and birds for neighbours. My day started with some morning yoga, afternoon bbq, hot tub , country walks, comfy sofa , amazing views ,fireplace and Netflix. My dogs loved it!, it's was secure for them I had no worries at all. There are places to explore, Shrewsbury, the Welsh border is 15 mins away There are idyllic country pubs 10ish min drive but for me this was about Wellbeing and switching off. The annex is adorable, everything you need. The lounge with its high beamed ceiling, fireplace, massive wet room, underfloor heating and windows that frame a view to die for.The hot tub is a lil gem and the bbq area is a perfect viewing point. You will not be disappointed! It will forever hold a place in my heart. Don't change a thing x Thank you Solo Traveller
A lovely property in a stunning location the views are incredible. Everything about this property and location makes you relax. Gilbert is the most wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble, and he really goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. A great location to explore the surrounding area. You will not be disappointed with a break in The Boundary Annex!
The annex was excellent. And surrounding s was breathtaking.will book again .this year.
Stuart
A beautiful location and immaculate cottage that was spotlessly clean with pretty much everything youd ever need for a cottage get away. The owners went out of their way to ensure you had all you needed for your stay and are extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely return for another stay in the Shropshire Hills.
Fantastic property, great location, well presented
Theresa
Clean, comfortable, warm and well looked after accommodation. Hot tub great, in secluded placement and checked every day. Host Gilbert both friendly and unobtrusive. Garden areas with good views and secure for dog and ours does test for this!. Great walking from the door. Cold water swim area at nearby Carding Mill reservoir, permitted by National Trust and with good access. We loved our stay and hope to go back next year. Many thanks to Gilbert.
A beautiful cottage, clean, well maintained, comfortable, great views and helpful welcoming hosts.
Friendly and helpful hosts
Jackie
Better than listing. Beautiful and relaxing. Hot tub checked daily. Logs replaced as needed, without asking. Scenery amazing. The most comfortable place we have stayed in self catering accommodation. Highly recommend.
Kimberley
This is now our holiday destination every year. Gilbert is amazing & we absolutely love the annex
Annette
Lovely relaxing spacious property which is a great base to explore Shropshire and even mid Wales. Stunning views from the lounge and BBQ area and lovely walks from the cottage. Really good that the decking area and separate BBQ area are completely secure for dogs. It was lovely to relax of an evening in the secluded hot tub or on the big comfy sofas. As previously mentioned the sky lights would benefit from a bit of work eg. blinds and ways to open, but that's a minor point. Gilbert and Emma are really helpful and friendly. Thank you for providing the vacuum cleaner so we could leave the property as we found it we refuse to do any other. All in all a great week and we very much enjoyed our stay.
Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful area. Well appointed and kept immaculate. Quiet and peaceful. Hot tub is fantastic to relax on an evening. Had a great week away and would definitely recommend
Robert
The cottage is in a lovely quite locations surround by farms. The hot tub is a lovely touch and it has a fire which would be perfect on the cold evening. The cottage has everything you would need for a lovely stay, a well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom and bedroom. The Addition of blinds and curtains in the bedroom would make it better as the sun wakes you up early in the morning. The local shops are around a 10 min drive away with a small selections of pubs and takeaways. Gilbert was there to meet us when we arrived which gave it a lovely touch. He answered any questions we had and had good knowledge of the local area.
Hilary
We were so lucky to chose a week of July sunshine for our stay and made the most of the fabulous outside space overlooking the glorious Shropshire countryside. Its such a peaceful place with the noisiest residents being cows in the fields across from the property. It was so hot that a couple of days we stayed at home and relaxed, eating outside and enjoying the hot tub late in the evening when heat of the day subsided. The property itself is superb and so much bigger inside than it looks from the photos. Its one of those places wed love to experience in the winter, especially for the dark skies and another go in the hot tub! Thank you to Gilbert and Emma for sharing your bit of Shropshire with us. We loved it.
Fabulous property set in beautiful countryside with stunning views. Spacious and comfortable with fully equipped kitchen, liked the hot tub and enclosed decking area and garden.
Kimberley
We absolutely loved our stay at the annex. The annex is stunning & all the garden area is so beautifully kept but still quite natural. The area is perfect for long walks. Gilbert was an absolute delight. Such a friendly & helpful man. We have booked to come back in November
Danielle
An absolute amazing holiday at The Boundary Annex. Gilbert, Emma and of course Toby the dog make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Beautiful part of the country and amazing scenery right on your doorstep. Would recommend to anyone
Patricia
A great location with stunning views. The accomodation is exactly as advertised and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to friends and family. So much to do in the area with highlights such as Shrewsbury Town walk and the Prison tour was really interesting, Ludlow Vaughan's hot pork sandwiches
Pamela
We had a great week Jan into Feb 2022. Warm, cosy and clean, spacious inside and everything is provided. A welcome pack was waiting for us, including a carton of milk in the fridge. The hot tub made the perfect week. Gilbert met us on arrival to welcome us to the annex he was the perfect host and friendly. Lovely walks and places to visit. We were not disappointed.
Nathaniel
The property was better than advertised. It was clean, comfortable, warm and in an idyllic location of the Shropshire countryside. Gilbert was there to greet us, and was more than accommodating throughout our visit. The hot tub is cleaned and treated regularly, and the log burner in the lounge combined with the view from the large windows made for a scenic stay.
Arlinda
The pictures do not do this place justice. Incredible views from the living room, clean, airy, modern yet very homely and cosy. Gilbert and Emma are very helpful and the area is just stunning. Cant wait to return
