This luxurious getaway for two is in a sought-after location with less than a mile's walk to Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the town's wide range of eateries.

This wonderful stone-built hideaway has been furnished to an extremely high standard and has everything you could need for a special retreat. After a day of exploring the National Park, discover the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and stretch out amidst cosy exposed stone walls, a spectacular lantern roof window, and wall-to-wall windows.

The kitchen is contemporary, matching the rest of the home, and has everything you could need to rustle up delicious dinners for two. It even boasts a washer/dryer, should you need to freshen up walking jackets and hats.

Enjoy your meal around the table, and when the weather is kind, throw open the doors to allow the fresh air to flow through, or even dine alfresco on the patio. Long soaks in the hot tub are highly recommended before climbing into the sumptuous super-king-size zip-and-link bed.

The room even has a walk-in closet and Smart TV. The stylish shower room rounds off the property.

Leave the car keys on the side and stroll into the centre of Alnwick, where you can visit the impressive structure of Alnwick Castle, wander the Alnwick Garden or catch a show at Alnwick Playhouse. There are many interesting shops to peruse too, including several bookstores for keen readers.

Exploring the coast is easy. Down the coast, Alnmouth (4.5 miles) has a wide, golden beach as well as a picturesque golf course, while to the north, Howick (6.5 miles) boasts a photogenic hall and gardens, which was once home to Earl Grey.

Thornbrae Studio Reviews

We had such a lovely stay! The place is beautifully renovated and really comfy. The big windows let in loads of sunshine, which made everything feel so bright. We didn’t try the hot tub, but it’s perfectly placed on the decking with a nice view of the garden. Would totally recommend!
James

We had a fantastic stay at this studio! The hosts went above and beyond, providing essentials like milk, butter, cheeseand crackers. The bed was really comfy with lovely beddingand the towels were top quality. The furniture was in great condition, especially the big sofa perfect for relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed, including good cutlery and crockery. There's also a local hotel nearby for meals. Definitely recommend booking this place, we loved it!
Emma

We really appreciated the warm welcome and all the little touches like tea, coffee, biscuitsand butter - perfect after a long drive. The apartment was beautifully furnished and super comfy. Honestly, we couldn't find a single thing to fault. Will definitely return!
Emma
Nice place, really comfortable and well worth it.

We spent a week in 'The Studio' and honestly, it was such a lovely surprise. The place is super modern, brightand spotlessly clean. Despite being right in Alnwick town centre, it feels like a peaceful retreat, thanks to the beautiful, well-kept gardens. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub on our private deck, especially at dusk with all the birds and squirrels about. The hosts are genuinely lovely and clearly take pride in what they do. Definitely a hidden treasure!

Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 0 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 10 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 27 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
