The Cottage Reviews

The cottage itself was absolutely lovely nice and clean lovely welcome gift as it was Christmas, what really let it down was that you had to park on a grass verge which is not good in the winter and also for a dog friendly cottage until we got there the back garden was completely open so could not let dog off of lead which I feel should be in the cottage description this is the first dog friendly cottage we have had over the last 10 years with Sykes that you can't let your dog out on its own
Richard
Lovely cottage with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Owners greeted us and explained everything we needed to know, most importantly how to get the log burner going and how to work the hot tub
Annette
The carpet in the lounge had lots of hair possibly dog on it and as we had a toddler with us it wasnt ideal. The hot tub appears to be 2 gardens away which is at the back of the owners home, therefore not giving you total privacy. There was no light to the hot tub in the dark and there is a small step as you walk along the path to which I stumbled off. The location is lovely and quiet and central for visiting other locations.
Lovely owners, great place
Lovely cosy cottage, hot tub was hot and roomy, comfortable beds, wood burner was perfect, could do with some trays for the oven and a chest of drawers in the bedrooms would have been better as nowhere to put anything, bedside cabinets not ample enough, other than that cannot fault the property and landlordlady, would definitely recommend.
We had a lovely stay here for a week as a family of four. The cottage was clean and comfortable, parking was easy and the location was excellent for exploring the local area. The kids enjoyed using the hot tub and the owners are friendly and on hand being just next door. Only a couple of minor improvements would make this cottage better it's own dedicated WiFi rather than sharing from next door which has patchy coverage and is quite slow, and also some extra coat hangers in the wardrobes as there is limited storage upstairs. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would be happy to return
Lovely cottage which suited our needs. Being clean and comfortable and close to the coast supported our chilled and relaxed holiday. The hot tub was fantastic. The bee hive in the insecure garden were both issues for my young dog, but I really should have checked garden security before booking. Tim and Sam were excellent hosts, proving everything we needed whiist remaining unobtrusive. The lovely dog friendly village pub provides meals and is a short walk away. A lovely stay in a quiet and peaceful location.
We spent a lovely relaxing weekend here, the hosts were very accomodating without being intrusive and the hot tub was the biggest I've been in. Beds were comfy and location was excellent for visiting the surrounding coastal resorts. Would highly recommend and would book again in the future.
A lovely little cottage, cosy and clean. The owners have ensured everything you may need is in the cottage. The hot tub is a great size. We will definitely be returning! Great stay
Loved the property. Clean, comfortable and great location for exploring neighbouring seaside towns. Hot tub was also an added bonus. Would definitely come back to this cottage again. Can also highly recommend the local pub in Kilham village.
Anthony
Superb cottage. Clean and nicely furnished. Log burning fire and hot tub a bonus. Hosts live next door but are unobtrusive but very nice people. Village attractive and can walk to pub in 8 mins. Drive to Nice beaches in 20 mins. Highly recommended.
Katherine
Lovely clean property with great hosts and the bonus of a hot tub, in beautiful Yorkshire.
Richard
Everything was spotless when we arrived. The cottage had everything we needed. The hot tub was great and having a real fire was a nice bonus which made the place lovely and cosy. Our hosts were easy to contact as they are just next door when we needed a couple of small things sorting.
Excellent cottage in lovely village. Great pub too. Only there for 3 nights but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pam was very warm and welcoming, letting us enjoy our stay in their lovely cottage with an amazing hot tub.
We've had a warm and comfortable stay. We were provided with everything that was needed and the host was very friendly and kind. Had a good time. Thank you very much
Robert
Very clean and comfortable cottage with a wood burning stove and the added extra of a hot tub for relaxing
Robert
Lovely cottage with excellent hot tub. Pam and Tim, the hosts were friendly and helpful and made sure cottage was spotless before we arrived, even fogging the premises to prevent any covid problems. The cottage is situated ideally for visiting coast and countryside. Unlike some cottages every utensil imaginable was provided in the kitchen. We all enjoyed ourselves especially my mother who celebrated her 88th birthday on the day of our arrival. Thanks again.
Enjoyable stay in a cozy cottage. Owners and locals very friendly. Nice local pub. Nice area and beaches to explore.
Owners are lovely and live next door. They leave a lovely arrival package of milk, tea, coffee. Wifi didnt work but it make a nice break from being on your phone and spending time with your familyfriends. Hot tub is amazing! The beds a super comfy and the whole cottage is thought out really well. I would definitely return if in the area.

Beautiful, well equipped and cosy cottage in an idyllic rural setting. 10 minutes walk to country pub which also served delicious food. Within easy reach of the coast and some lovely market towns. Hosts were extremely helpful yet unobtrusive. The hot tub was a lovely bonus. Overall we had an amazing week at The Cottage and hope to plan a return visit soon.
Wonderful location, wonderful hosts, fantastic cottage, plus a lovely hot tub to soak away the aches and pains acquired touring this beautiful part of the country.
Jennifer
Warm welcome. Clean, warm and comfortable cottage ideally located for visiting the east coast. Hot tub is spacious and despite Storm Dennis we managed to relax in daily after lots of walking. We left a pair of walking boots and owners contacted us to arrange collection thanks.
Isiasha
Absolutely amazing hosts, couldn't be more helpful. Wonderful people. Myself, the children and my pomeranian Bear had a great time. The cottage was cosy, clean and well equipped. The hottub was fun, well placed and a great added extra. The fire brung a real cosyness and the selection of games and dvds went down well with the children. We cooked every night and didnt fail to find anything we needed for food preparation. The kitchen had everything. We visited Scarborough, York, Filey, Bridlington and had some lovely scenic drives. 1010 Best cottage we have ever stayed in

Just got home from a 4 night break at the cottage you couldn't ask for more everything you need is in the cottage lovely wood burner when the nights are cold and the hot tub in the garden was huge and on dark nights the lights in it made it even more enjoyable there is a double bed which was lovely and comfortable and 2 singles in the other bedroom the cottage is on the edge of a lovely village and we ate in the local pub one night which we had a lovely meal and it's just less than 10 min walk from cottage the surrounding area is beautiful and it was a perfect base for exploring in the 4 days we visited Beverley ,Bridlington ,York ,Scarborough and Whitby also a plus is your able to take our dog the owners we're lovely and there just next door if you have a problem but otherwise they just leave you in peace we would definitely book this cottage again and we have recommended it to our family and friends to
What a wonderful place we had such a lovely weekend away. Came back home all chilled out beds where so comfortable spotlessly clean and fantastic welcome
Lovely cottage, lovely and quiet. Bed was a bit firm for us but we moved into the twin beds which were very comfortable. Hosts were fabulous very kind and helpful.
Lovely cottage great countryside location. Walking distance to lovely pub with great food and dog friendly beach was only circa 15 min drive. Really enjoyed the hot tub and garden was really nice for bbq. Owners lovely and nothing too much trouble. Even suggested local gym for my daughters to use.
Very good value for money
Fantastic break away! Lovely cottage and people
Kirsty
We loved our stay at the cottage. It was immaculately presented, very clean and had everything you would need for a stress free getaway including a baby monitor so we could enjoy the hot tub while our little man was in bed. It is also a really nice location with lots of places to visit only a short drive away. The owners were also really nice and helpful. Would definitely visit again
Amanda
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They were on hand to suggest day trips and offer advice on places of interest. They were also quick to react to our wasp problem and solved our issues straight away. They made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The area offered the perfect holiday for our family with our favourite place to visit being Fraisthorpe Beach.
Claire
The Cottage was absolutely fantastic. The owners were very nice and explained how to use things on our arrival. The Cottage is very well equipped, and a bit like home from home....The only difference is, at home I don't have a hot tub, which was absolutely incredible. I would definitely recommend this place, and would love to go back again. Our dog loved the massive extremely well kept back garden. It is so quiet and peaceful, lovely to hear birds chirping. Great place to stop, and isn't far from different attractions, depending on what you want to see. Definitely 5 stars from me and my family.
