Superb Property in a beautiful position. The property has been beautifully converted and the hot tub and barbecue a real bonus. Loved the welcome pack and the welcome from the managers.

We stayed at Hazel Cottage at the beginning of May 2023. Its set in beautiful countryside and its wonderfully quiet. It was a beautiful cottage, really well equipped and comfortable. The quality of the decor and the furnishings were excellent. We had beautiful views over the estuary and the outside patio was was a lovely addition with the hot tub and barbecue. We used the wood burner once which provided good heat warmth. The welcome pack was so thoughtful and very much appreciated. We had a wonderful and very comfortable stay.

Had a lovely short weekend break with two other friends and my other half. The hot tub was lovely and hot on arrival, the cottage was filled with everything you need salt, pepper, sauces, butter plus lovely little extras such as bread and Prosecco! would definitely return here, and hope to at some point in the near future. Thanks again
We had a wonderful stay at Hazel cottage, everything was perfect, we will be back!
Outstanding. The pictures do not do the property justice. Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend. Perfect location for relaxing and exploring. Special thank you to Lynsey.
Excellent quality accommodation. Very comfortable beds and sofas. 2nd time we have stayed at Bigland Hall cottages and will definitely be back. 1010!
The most amazing cottage we have ever stayed in! Stunning views and equipped with everything you would need for your holiday.
The most amazing location and cottage! Will definitely be returning in the future!
There was a bit of an issue with the electricity in that if you had too much on at once the lights would trip. Other than that is was a lovely stay.
We really appreciated all the little touches like the welcoming basket when we arrived. Things like this make such a difference especially after a long day travelling. The hot tub was a real hit with the kids whereas the real log fire was my personal highlight. A truly beautiful cottage in even more beautiful surroundings, it was a pleasure to come home to this every evening after long walks.
Lovely cottage, excellent facilities, close to main Lake District attractions ... Lovely cottage, excellent facilities, close to main Lake District attractions but just far enough off the beaten track at the same time we will definitely go again
Utterly incredible. From booking to arriving it was the smoothest process. The cottage was so well presented. Very clean and had everything you could need. I love the welcome pack full of local goodies The bedding and towels were very clean and fresh, the cottage was incredibly clean. Would absolutely book with you again.
On arrival at Hazel Cottage, it really does take your breath away. The cottage is beautiful and the location is simply stunning with breath taking views. The cottage is like a home from home and has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. The little extras left by the owners ie fresh bread and lovely jams are such a thoughtful edition. I have been on quite alot of holidays and always struggle to get company in hotel beds. The beds at Hazel cottage are so comfortable i was really suprised. Everything about our stay was luxury we cannot wait to visit again.

Hazel Cottage is in a beautiful setting with amazing views. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the hot tub wonderful after a day out walking. Will definitely return.
We were just delighted with Hazel Cottage, the area was beautiful, the cottage was stunning and spotless, everything catered for, and the welcome pack waiting for us, plus the very friendly greeting was more than expected. Will return again. Thank you.
House needs a better WIFI connection and absolutely needs a radio or device for playing music. It was possible to stream through the tv but the connection was so poor it dropped out. Also the tv needs radio channels if the above is not actioned
Steven
The cottage was well presented and the welcome hamper was a lovely gesture. Sitting in the hot tub looking out to the tranquil country side was perfect. Absolutely amazing place for a break away from it all.
Stuart

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 8 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 10 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 12 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 14 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 20 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 29 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
