A lovely place for a little break from it all!
Had a wonderful stay for 4 nights at crossgate. Was surprised by the size and comfort of the lodge. Beautiful location with great views and well placed for some lovely walks nearby. Hosts had some great touches like fresh eggs and milk. Highly recommended!
Oh my god the stay was incredible, the lodge was equipped with everything you needed with complimentary eggs milk and Prosecco as well things such as instructions for tv heater fan ect were available which came in handy. It was also extremely clean and decorated gorgeously. The hosts were nothing but kind and attentive to any needs you may have. The full property and surrounding area was gorgeous already looking at rebooking cant fault!!
Benjamin
We had an amazing time. It will be our go to place when staying in the Lake District.

We had the best break and very much needed down time! It was perfect and the hot tub was a great success after a day of hiking. Host is fantastic and just had to drop a little message and she was happy to help. Have already recommended it to our family and friends and we cant wait to come back!!
Thomas
It was an excellent stay. Everything was perfect apart from the rain on Sunday which was solved by the hot tub
An amazing luxury pod with everything you could need for a cosy break in a stunning location. The hot tub is a wonderful addition and the milk, Prosecco, eggs, biscuits hot drinks, robes and slippers were lovely finishing touches.. Walks from the door, a fab pub 1 mile walk and the beautiful brothers water, hayeswater and ullswater all within east reach for a wild swim or water sports cruises
Amazing place! Absolutely beautiful! The pod was warm, cosy, and well equipped. The hosts were lovely and helpful. I wish we could stay longer and we are planning to visit this place again.
We stayed in one of your pods, the stag from the 10th to the 13th, it was our 25th wedding anniversary. The only thing I regret is not booking longer, 3 days went to fast, the pod was clean and tidy, peaceful, we had no hot water and that was sorted immediately. The views were amazing, a different world compared to the city, and the hot tub and fire pit were used, roasted marshmallows are yummy, and the wine, milk and eggs that were left for us on arrival were appreciated. We are thinking of coming back next year. Thank you.
Exceeded our expectations, definitely enough to do around the cabin, very child and dog friendly. Dog blankets provided and Prosecco was a lovely touch. Used the hot tub every day. Great access to Derwant and Ullswater. Would recommend without a doubt and hope to visit again
Sophie
We had such a great time at this pod. The location is amazing with views everywhere you turn! The pods have everything you need for your stay. The hot tub was such a lovely extra after a tough day walking. As there are only 4 other surrounding pods they are all spaced out and its very quiet which was perfect! I am already looking at dates to return!! Fab place and the owners are lovely lovely people!
The stag is perfectly equipped with all the essentials you would need for a comfy stay. Its very modern and extremely clean and the host was on hand and very helpful during our stay. The hot tub was an amazing addition to our stay, it was maintained daily so after a long cold walk it was the perfect way to unwind. If there was one thing I could suggest that would of made our stay better, as there was 4 of us and the weather was not great, it would be to have hooks inside The Stag so you could hang things up, as apart from a few draws there is no storage at all. Many thanks Carla Berger
A beautiful lodge in a beautiful location! Kitchen was well equiped and everything spotlessly clean. The firepit was useful as the nights got colder although a bag of logs alongside the kindling wouldn't of gone a miss we had to purchase some from Brotherswater but would of happily bought them from yourselves if available. The only other thing we had to purchase was ice also from Brotherswater I think a couple of ice cube trays in the freezer compartment would be a good idea, just to make the gins even colder while sitting in the hot tub! Would i come back? You bet! Thanks for an amazing weekend and experience
A fantastic stay, we had the perfect week away with yourself where we could completely relax and not have to worry. Every effort is made to make you feel comfortable, there may not be an oven but even for a week away it was not needed. Would 100 stay again.
Lovely place to relax and chill after a fun day out, enjoy the vies and hotub as well as the comfy bed
The site is absolutely stunning and the stag absolutely delivered. Inside is beautiful and the decor is on point. Absolutely had the best time here with my wife for our 14th anniversary. The only things we were disappointed about were No oven to cook meat in , no wardrobe for clothing and the shower size possibly the smallest shower inclosure ive ever been in and the water pressure to shower was very poor. The step out side by the entrance to the stag was a little bit dangerous when you had a few drinks as you just could not see it . It could have done with a little marking out maybe or some sort of feature Mat to give it a little definition. Apart from that you will not be disappointed as it is truly amazing and you will enjoy your stay. Thanks so much team Crossgates. We really had the most amazing time and will cherish our stay here forever
Benjamin
Such an amazing stay for me and my girlfriends first trip away together. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and an amazing place to stay. Its clear alot of thought has gone into everything they've done and we would definitely stay again. An amazing time!
Rachael
We absolutely loved our stay in the Stag! The accommodation had everything we needed and more aswell as being in the perfect location for exploring.
Nicholas
Had a wondeful time at crossgate glamping site in the stag, as soon as we arrived we were greeted by flowers, a bottle of fizz along with fresh eggs & milk, all wonderful little extras we did not expect. We really didnt want to leave! Thank you again for an amazing weekend.
Beautifully presented in an amazing location with some lovely extras left in the pod for our arrival. The property was very clean and comfortable and really made our stay in the Lake District.
A lovely place to stay in stunning surroundings. The pod was fab and the hottub is a great addition, particularly as the sky is so clear at night hot tub under the stars! Little extras were provided like prosecco and fresh farm eggs which was a lovely touch. Great, safe place for the kids to run around with lots of lovely walking paths right outside. Would highly recommend!
Matthew
Had a lovely Easter weekend at The Stag. The location and pod were both stunning and extremely well equipped with everything you should need. The hot tub and fire pit were fabulous. The hosts are extremely thoughtful with their extra touches. The Easter eggs and prosecco were very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend and return ourselves. Thank you!
We stayed at The Stag luxury clamping pod for our honeymoon. Its in the most beautiful location in the mountains with Brotherswater nearby. Youre literally surrounded by mountains in the hot tub! The pod is kitted out to a very high standard, the bed is comfortable, it has every amenity you could imagine needing & more. We were blown away. The added extras from the host make the stay even better. Wonderful holiday and would 100 recommend to anybody looking to stay in the lakes as the best way to do it.

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 2 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 17 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 22 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 25 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 26 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 29 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
