We travelled here with friends and our dogs. The location is excellent , never too far away from a good beach which the dogs loved as did we. We supported local business and used the local pubs and restaurants plus the sweet shop and butchers all were excellent. The bed in the downstairs bedroom has to be one of the most comfortable that I have sle pt in. The owners were extremely helpful and kept in touch during our stay. We would not hesitate in recommending this property thoroughly enjoyed it.
Carl

Excellent location, clean and comfortable property. There is no washing machine in the property just to note and also no grass for dogs if you were taking them.
Christopher
Nice compact property with private outdoor space and centrally located for many places to visit
Neil
House was comfortable and secure. Hot tub was fabulous. Location not good for us as on a busy road and we had mobility scooter. Traffic very busy and paths narrow. Unfortunately a lot of selfish drivers who would park on paths so couldnt get past. No crossing in the village. Eateries were nice with good good and friendly.
Pamela

It is only a 10 min drive away to Guisborough Forest, Roseberry Toppings and Kildale Waterfall and a 20 min drive to Saltburn Beach and Tees Barrage. All lovely places and dog friendly.

Lovely, comfortable, modern cottage. Ideally situated to being able to get out and about to many, many lovely places near by to visit. Good walks for the dogs and plenty of dog friendly eateries in the area and surrounding area.

The only fault is that we found it to be noisy in the morning due to the traffic
Jacqui

Jonathan
Lovely cottage in very nice location. Village very friendly and plenty of local attractions, drinking and eating places. Overall excellent cottage and location
Philip
Lovely comfortable house in a great location in great ayton which is a lovely friendly village with dog friendly pubs and cafe's. The house has a nice private hot tub and the property is very secure ideal if you have a dog, there aren't many self catering accommodations I would definitely return to but this is one I will certainly be returning to i n the future.
Jill
The cottage was well laid out providing a good spot for the dog to sleep whilst being contained. She could have access to the garden and we didn't have to worry about her. We were close to the centre of the village which was useful for the shops. The only downside was the noise from passing traffic which starts early in the morning. Probably not a problem unless you're a light sleeper though.
Jackie
A beautiful house with a quality finish throughout and a large covered hot tub just outside the back door (robes and towels provided). The village of Great Ayton has lots of places to eat and drink all within walking distance and has a lovely friendly 'village' feel. Fabulous butchers and bakeries and a well-stocked C0-0P. Plenty of walks from the village and a train station to get on to the Esk Valley railway to Whitby. Good contact with Laura and Josh the before, during and after our stay.
Carole
We loved the cottage and are already thinking of returning. The furnishings were luxurious and the hot tub accessories very welcome. (bath robes and towels). A lovely touch was a bowl of fresh water for the dog and a jar of dog treats.

Big Sheep - EX39 5AP

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 23 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Yorkshire Lavender - YO60 6PB

Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip. The onsite shops sells Lavender products such as bath and body treats, skincare, medicine and herbal remedies.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 26 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA
about 27 Miles
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
