Primrose Lodge Reviews

We enjoyed our week at Primrose Lodge. It was clean and fairly comfortable. Shower was amazing and we enjoyed the hot tub when it was hot, it would have been nice to have more info about it as a couple of the evenings it was just warm. It would have been nice to have leaflets information regarding the local area ie places to visit walks etc. also bus timetables and places you could get to. The kitchen could do with more dishes cutlery so you don't have to put the dishwasher on every day. Also, the picture of the welcome pack on the website shows more than what you get. We ate at the The Royal Hotel in Runswick Bay twice which we would highly recommend, also the Cod and Lobster in Staithes, excellent pie. All in all we had a lovely week.

We had a wonderful stay at primrose lodge. Highly recommend for a relaxing get away. Perfect location for bay and coastal walks with a welcoming pub 1 minute walk away, serving homemade delicious food. We hope to be back soon.
I recently stayed at Primrose lodge for 4 nights. The lodge itself was perfect and in an excellent location, with great local amenities, including an excellent pub nearby. The pub also does most of its menu as takeout, which we found very convenient. I would recommend the lodge and it is already booked for 7 nights next year.

What can we say we had a wonderful family holiday in Primrose Lodge. Runswick bay is absolutely beautiful, and the location of these lodges is perfect for visiting the beach and exploring the coast. The lodge itself was beautifully presented, clean, and very well equipped. The only downside for us was the mattress we could feel every spring. After the first night we turned the mattress over, which was an improvement. We have booked again for next year and cant wait to come back.

Absolutely loved it really clean and perfect for the surrounding areas. Looking forward to coming again
A great holiday property, clean and tidy on arrival, plenty of hot water, great heating system and the hot tub is a really great addition. Great position alongside the Cleveland Way and so close to a hotel which has great food and is very dog friendly Close to Runswick Bay beach itself quite a steep walk there and back but there is a lower car park The area is beautiful, stunning cliff walks, quaint villages and lots of great eating places. Fantastic dog friendly property.
The lodge was lovely and clean, everything we needed, hot tub great for two of us. Bedding and towels very good. We had no hairdryer and had to request one , but didn't get it till Wednesday. On a nice quiet site.

A good location, excellent facilities, well maintained and very clean. We would recommend.

Property is immaculately presented, well equipped, clean and tidy, in a quiet but accessible location close to the sea There were a few challenges having travelled with elderly parents eg steps to the property are a struggle for anyone with mobility issues. A ramp alongside the property is something to consider. The twin beds were narrow Having said that we had a lovely time and I'd definitely book again in the future
I cant fault this accommodation at all. The lodge was immaculate and nothing was out of order. There were some complimentary nibbles upon arrival including a bottle of Prosecco. The lodges are new by the look of them and they all have hot tubs I think. The site itself is lovely, quiet and relaxing if you want that sort of holiday. Its in a great location for coastal walks. The site is situated just behind The Ruswick Bay Hotel and the food really is spot on. The Stables at Whitby is also another favourite if youre not familiar with the area. We will definitely stop here again. Good value for your money.
Really enjoyed our stay in this lodge. ..a really peaceful location and the hot tub is definitely a bonus...we will definitely be returning sometime next year.
Shirley
The lodge was very clean, bedding good quality, shower worked well. Hot tub was lovely and bed very comfy. Good welcome pack of biscuits, milk, coffee, teabags and prosecco. The site was well laid out, with parking space next to each lodge. We would stay there again.
Fabulous, modern lodge. It's spotlessly clean, well presented and very comfortable, with everything you need to have a great stay. We have just returned from a 5 day stay and had a lovely, peaceful break. The location is perfect for exploring the local resorts but far enough away to offer tranquility. The welcome gifts were a lovely touch. Would highly recommend and would like to return.
We had a fantastic holiday. The location, accommodation, facilities and service was excellent! The welcome gifts were a nice surprise and much appreciated. We would recommend a simple clothes airer for the towels and swim suits after enjoying the hot tub

The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 15 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 21 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.
Sea Life Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 21 Miles
Located in the Scalby Mills area of Scarborough this makes a fun family day out for those who are interested in marine life. The fantastic ocean tank is well worth seeing - it's been transformed into a Turtle Reef and you can see an amazing array of colourful reef fish and coral. You may also catch a glimpse of the tropical sharks and turtles. Offering good value for money this is a day out with a difference and an all weather attraction.
Peasholm Park - YO12 6QQ
about 21 Miles
This attraction is ideal for sunny days as the beautiful park is ideal for wandering out and taking in the scenery.  You can hire boats including rowing boats and canoes to enjoy the views from the water.  The pedalos with the dragon heads are always a popular choice too. Look out for special events including the Battle of Peasholm Park Naval Battle which has been described as a "must see".  You can also take a ride on the North Bay Railway which will delight children.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 22 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Betton Farm Visitor Centre - TF9 3PS
about 22 Miles
Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA
about 29 Miles
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
Yorkshire Lavender - YO60 6PB
about 29 Miles
Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip. The onsite shops sells Lavender products such as bath and body treats, skincare, medicine and herbal remedies.
