Homestar Reviews

Karen
Lovely little place to stay with the sea right on your doorstep. Great little garden for the doggies, really secure for them. Having the washer and dryer was great for us as we are cold water swimmers so had clothes to wash and dry. Hot tub was a lovely treat and very private. Overall a lovely little place with everything you need.
Ian

Excellent accommodation. Facilities very good too. Scones, jam and cream were delicious. Easy walking to the seafront and plenty of places to eat. You must try the local icecream! Visited Bideford, Appledore, Bude and Port Issac. Walked many miles on the coastal path too. Hot tube was a great extra after a long day exploring the area.

Lovely cottage and stunning location more dogs than people
Carol
The cottage was in the perfect position for a beach holiday. It was warm and comfortable with a pretty garden fully enclosed for our dogs. There was plenty of room for us and two dogs and I would definitely book again.

Homestar at Westward Ho! was very clean, warm and comfortable. Good parking and dog friendly. It is well placed for the beach and shops. The owners made it ready at short notice after we had to be moved from our original holiday home, we had a very chilled out week. Would definitely come back.
Nicola

Brigette
Great bungalow with an ideal location, short stroll to all shops and restaurants. Across the road a little walk and youre on the beach! Lovely indoors and out. We spent time outside having a barbecue & in the hot tub! The lounge & bedrooms were a great size for all 6 of us, with lots of extras in every room! Couldnt fault the accommodation, good al l round!
Sharon
Second year running staying at Homestar. Fantastic location, really lovely house. Very clean and well equipped. Very spacious, has everything you need for a stay in Devon. Would highly recommend this property and we will certainly be back again.
Jane
A really comfortable family house, just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Westward Ho. The hot tub is a great asset.
Lynn
Our 3rd visit in less than 2 years. A great base for us to visit family. There is a Tescos a short walk away, but recommend you go earlier in the day during busy periods as they do run out of essentials. The kitchen is well equipped but does not have essentials such as Tea, coffee etc. I would also suggest you take extra loo rolls. The hot tub is a bonus! The property is bigger than it looks from the outside and has ample space for a family.
Alistair
A lovely and spacious property, just a few minutes walk from amenities and beach. Space to sit out at front and rear of property was nice, plus bonus of hot tub. Would recommend Instow beach for dogs and Tarka trial if you fancy a lovely traffic free bike ride. Also visited Clovelly, Appledore and Bideford locally.
Michael
A great location to the beach and town, with a flat 5-10 minute walk. The bedroom upstairs worked really well for my parents to be away from the grand children. The kitchen was well equipped. There was plenty of living space for the 6 of us.
Donna
Lovely cottage, perfect location. Parking was tight for two large cars side by side but enough room to park one across the other. Please note there are three steps up to the front door. this was not something I had considered and caused a few problems for my blind dog with mobility problems. You also need to step over the door frame into the garden so just be aware if you are booking includes someone with similar issues. Great to be able to walk to the beach and town as its all flat.
Sally
We had a thoroughly brilliant time staying in Homestar. The cottage is beautiful, very well maintained and equipped; very spacious and in a perfect location. I can't fault the stay and look forward to going back again one day.
Ellie
Excellent location, lovely house to stay in with the added benefit of the hot tub. The best self catering facility, lots of equipment in the kitchen to make family meals and do laundry. Location is fantastic everything is within walking distance, a handy Tesco express is 3 minutes down the road. Very friendly place to visit, there is something for all ages and most places are dog friendly.
Matthew
Beautiful location, and a very well presented property. Everything that you need is there, the hottub and property was amazing. We will for sure be visiting again
Paul
Have stayed here a few years ago ideal location ,improvement made re parking and small secure garden excellent for the dog
Ben
You really cant go wrong with this accommodation. Its perfectly located in the village of Westward Ho! and the beach, which is just a short walk away. The property owners are super responsive and more than happy to assist in any questions you may have during your stay, making your holiday experience fantastic. The house has everything you need and plenty of space for large families like ours. This is the second year weve stayed here, and cant wait to book again! Thank you!
Sally
Lovely cottage. Close to the beach. Beautiful view from bedroom of sunsets. Enjoyed the scones and clotted cream on arrival - thank you.
Annette
Beautiful place to stay, everything you would need for a holiday. Close to the Westward Ho! Our husbands both have mobility issues, they managed the walk ( slowly)
Lynn
Faultless! Wonderful property situation a short walk from the Burrows in Westward Ho! Two downstairs bedrooms which would accomodate those less able bodied, also downstairs bathroom. Lovely double bedroom upstairs with en-suite. Ample parking space. Beautifully situated with a short car journey to Instow, Appledore, Saunton Sands and walking distan ce to Westward Ho! beach, where dogs are allowed to the far right and there is now a cafe there as well. We have already booked in for next year!
Pat
Lovely spacious cottage plenty of equipment and very friendly owner we had one or two issues when we arrived but they were sorted without a problem my only negative is the beds are very soft downstairs
Catherine
Really enjoyed our stay at Homestar. It felt like home from home with the added luxury of a big hot tub which the kids loved. The owners add little extras such as towels, cleaning products and toilet rolls which most places do not provide. Plus we arrived to scones and clotted cream. Westward Ho! Is a lovely small sea side town with the best beach I've been too. Its an excellent location for surfing and has a great surfing school.
Dawn
A lovely property, very close to the main sea front of Westward Ho. We have had a really fabulous week where we relaxed in the hot tub and had everything we needed at the house to unwind. We ate at some of the local restaurants and also had a Chinese takeaway. Our dogs loved the local beach and we also travelled to Appledore, Bideford, Bude and Wes tward Ho was great for when we didn't want to drive. Overall a lovely time had by all and we would return again.
Martin
The location is excellent, the cottage was very spacious for a family of 5. Maybe needs the bed frames tightening up to stop any noise but beds are comfy.
Sharon
Great location. Cosy and warm. Proper home from home. Would recommend.
Elizabeth
This property is very well kept, its light, bright and extremely well equipped. The car park space is really good and fits 2 cars easily. The upstairs bathroom is a little tight would benefit from a towel rail or an over the door hanger other than that its a wonderful place to stay. The hot tub is a wonderful bonus we really enjoyed. Its only a sho rt walk (about 12 minutes) to the shops, restaurants and beach. Its easier to drive in through Northam and reverse on the drive.
Bette
We had a great stay, very Happy.
Raymond
Good holiday cottage, well equipped. Only bad thing was mattresses are very soft which meant we slept badly. Easy walk to beech and coastal walks. Pubs are closed and those open not very good. So we had to drive to the Rock (40 mins) or the Hoops (20 mins) for drinks and food which was a shame.
Shaun
You could stay here without transport, shops and beach are a level walk, bus stop right outside does many of the big towns, very comfortable quiet holiday
