Resting on the outskirts of Failand, Somerset is Manor Farm House, a lovely, Grade II listed, stone-fronted home. Enjoying pretty gardens, a private swimming pond, an indulgent hot tub, and plenty of well-appointed living spaces, Manor Farm House also rests near a hub of amenities, attractions and the coast, making it a wonderful choice for a family of seven and their four-legged friend.

Park up on the private driveway, taking in the grandeur of your new abode. Step indoors to be greeted by an inviting sitting room, complete with plush seating and a rustling woodburning stove to light on cooler evenings.

The living/dining room also offers a welcoming space to unwind as a family, well-positioned near the fully-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can prepare meals and dine together. Bask in your surroundings by lighting the barbecue and setting the table located on the decked area, where you'll also find the hot tub and sweeping pond, perfect for a freshwater dip, or spend your afternoons strolling along the lawned areas, brimming with wild blooms and mature shrubs.

End the evening with a film night in the second-floor games room, where you can also enjoy a competition of table tennis, before sloping off to sleep in one of four bedrooms. Select between a grand super-king-size with en-suite, a king-size, a twin, and a single with trundle, all serviced by a bathroom and two handy shower rooms.

Awaken to a coffee in the garden before preparing to tour the area, with the National Trust grounds of Tyntesfield nearby to discover, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, ideal for all of the family, and the National Trust Cadbury Camp Nature Reserve offering the perfect landscape for wildlife watching. Manor Farm House Reviews

Great property with a real family home feel. Everything was clean and working so it was very relaxing. The place is very quiet and it was nice to have the chickens and horses out the back. As this is in a village, you have to drive most places, but there is a great pub 20mins walk away that serves good food and we were made to feel very welcome. We were able to get taxis into Bristol when we didn't want to take the car and this is only a few miles so isn't expensive. I would highly recommend this as a place to get away for a few days.

We were a family of 3 generations and had a great week at the house. The gardens are gorgeous and the rooms are all beautifully furnished and the upstairs games room was priceless as it kept the two youngest very happy for hours on end playing ping pong and watching TV. Our favourite thing however hands down, was the swimming pond and we went in it almost daily, come rain or shine. It was also lovely just to sit next to it and watch the reflections of the clouds in the water, the swallows dive into it by day and the bats flutter around it by night. The children made full use of the hot tub, and we loved having the horses behind the house and enjoyed the eggs we were given from the chickens. The house is in a fantastic location with so many places to see within a short drive. We managed trips to Clifton, Tyntesfield House, Ashton Court not that exciting in itself but the cafe is worth visiting, Bath, Symonds Yat and a coastal walk near Weston Super Mere. We also visited the local village shop Honey & Ginger and the Failand Inn pub for a meal. Waitrose and Tesco were only about a 10 minute drive away in Nailsea, I would definitely recommend staying here and I've already had a couple of friends ask for the details to the house.

The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.

This wonderful attraction in Gloucestershire will appeal to animal lovers as you will have the chance to see the fantastic work going on and meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. This place is funded entirely through public donations and they rely on these vital funds. Kids will love the play barn and straw den where they can run off some energy. New for 2010 is the Aerial Runway with Jungle Climber.

Come rain or shine this place is perfect for families and children can really let of steam while adults have some time to relax. There are also educational shows to see including Milking Show and the twice daily Bottle Feeding Show.

The very unique Seaquarium in Western Super Mare is a fantastic site based on a beach surrounded by 3 miles of sand offering an educational and fun experience for the whole family. The site is packed with marine life from all over the world and has an amazing Underwater tunnel where visitors can view Sharks and Sting Rays There are also several open top displays allowing closer inspection of the elegant Rays as well as other creatures. Special events take place throughout the year in high season including talks and crafting sessions.

Brean Leisure Park - TA8 2QY

Brean Leisure Park in Somerset is the place to head for family fun. The site has over 130 rides and attractions with something for all ages and abilities. Adults and children alike will love the more traditional fairground rides which include waltzes, roller coasters and of course dodgems! Older kids and teenagers on the hunt for white knuckle attractions can try out the terrifying 'XTreme' ride - 130ft of exciting twists turns and drops. For younger children the Canoe River is one of the most popular rides and the whole family can team up to enjoy the Laser Quest. Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.

Longleat Safari and Adventure Park - BA12 7NW

about 25 Miles

You may have seen this amazing attraction on the BBC1 Animal Park programme. This is actually the first safari park outside of Africa where you can get close to the animals from the comfort of your own car. Some of the highlights include the zebras, the wallabies in wallaby wood and the sea lion escorted cruise to Gorilla Island. And of course the magnificent lions and tigers are a must see. This really is an animal experience with a difference and you can save money by booking your tickets online. This attraction is open until the end of October.
