We love Somerset and decided on this place because it’s so central to spots like Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonburyand Haynes Museum. After browsing loads of options, Shepherds Lodge really stood out - and we’re so glad! It’s spotless, beautifully decoratedand in a peaceful setting surrounded by fields. Wow, what a lovely spot! The lodge was spotless and really well looked after, with plenty of towels provided. We felt super welcomed with the nice little pack they left. Say hi to Dolly and Dotty, Dan’s sheep - they’re quite the characters, loving all your scraps! The beds were comfy, so we had a really good sleep. There’s an Asda and Sainsbury’s just 15 minutes awayand Wookey Hole Caves is only half an hour. Western Super Mare’s nearby too. Dan suggested West Bayand it’s gorgeous. We’d definitely come back for more peaceful days here.

The Lodge was really comfortable and the equipment was excellent. It's in a great spot for nature reserves. The neighbours, the sheep, were quietly munching away in the next field. They were also hiding from the heat of the sun!

The hot tub was brilliant for relaxing after a long dayand there’s a pub just a 10-minute walk away that serves amazing homemade pub food. We really enjoyed it! We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub while watching the sunsets—what a treat! The owner is fantastic, always ready to help and never makes you feel like you’re a bother. There’s loads to do nearby, like exploring Glastonbury and Wookey Hole, plus so many other places. We loved it so much that we're heading back in October!

This is a great property! The view was just spectacularand the sunsets along with the night sky were amazing. It's an easy stroll to the pub, but you definitely burn it off walking back up that hill! The location is super convenient for the nature reserves, shopping in Streetand visiting Glastonbury and Wells. Plus, we really enjoyed making friends with the sheep.

The fantastic setting could hardly be better far activities such as Abseiling, Archery, Climbing, Caverning and Canoeing. The site also has a fantastic assault course. Family friendly activities include Raft Building and Nature Walks and environmental bush craft sessions.

The very unique Seaquarium in Western Super Mare is a fantastic site based on a beach surrounded by 3 miles of sand offering an educational and fun experience for the whole family. The site is packed with marine life from all over the world and has an amazing Underwater tunnel where visitors can view Sharks and Sting Rays There are also several open top displays  allowing closer inspection of the elegant Rays as well as other creatures. Special events take place throughout the year in high season including talks and crafting sessions.

This wonderful attraction in Gloucestershire will appeal to animal lovers as you will have the chance to see the fantastic work going on and meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys.  This place is funded entirely through public donations and they rely on these vital funds.  Kids will love the play barn and straw den where they can run off some energy.  New for 2010 is the Aerial Runway with Jungle Climber.
Bristol Aquarium - BS1 5TT

The Blue Reef Aquarium and IMAX 3D Cinema is located in Bristol and makes a great fun family day out.  The newest attraction in the region it's an experience not to be missed.  More than 7000 animals are resident in naturally themed habitats and you can enjoy wandering around looking at the 40 displays. Highlights include the giant octopus and the cute seahorses. The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.
Longleat Safari and Adventure Park - BA12 7NW
about 25 Miles
You may have seen this amazing attraction on the BBC1 Animal Park programme.  This is actually the first safari park outside of Africa where you can get close to the animals from the comfort of your own car. Some of the highlights include the zebras, the wallabies in wallaby wood and the sea lion escorted cruise to Gorilla Island.  And of course the magnificent lions and tigers are a must see.  This really is an animal experience with a difference and you can save money by booking your tickets online.  This attraction is open until the end of October.
