The Funky Flat Reviews

We had the best time staying at the funky flat! The whole place has been decorated in such a unique and beautiful way by Diane, it felt like we had been transported to some kind of magical wonderland! The furniture in the living room was so comfy we spent many night with a glass of wine watching TV on the sky glass. The projector in the bedroom was awesome too, great for movies! Diane and Jonny were lovely when we met them, Diane kindly showed us around a newly created holiday property next to the funky flat called Circus Circus it was awesome and definitely worth a look if you are after something a bit different. Jonny very generously treated us to our tea at their chip shop right under the flat and let me tell you they were probably the best chips we have ever had! Diane left us lots of goodies in the fridge which we were bowled over by! We have stayed in lots of Sykes properties over the years but non where the owners put so much love and care into the happiness of their guests so thank you Diane and Jonny! Parking was easy right at the back of the flat and it is free! We double checked with the traffic warden there is a pay and display section at the top If there isnt any room on the free section but we never had any issues finding a space. Whilst staying we visited the market cross pub a few times for a drink and something to eat! Great little family pub and really cheap, the staff were all friendly! Also Coco sweets and chocolate just around the corner from the flat was a lovely little sweet shop which has a great selection of chocolates and sweets! Marmalade coffee shop was a great place for breakfast and a coffee! The cakes also looked amazing but we never got round to trying them out. Tesco right across the road from the flat means you can easily pop over for supplies! Little bus station at the top of the road was great you could get the bus to Chester or Rhyl Im sure there are many other stops but they were the ones we got! I would recommend the funky flat to anyone seeking a relaxing holiday with a difference! We hope to book to come back again soon.
This is a lovely place. Pictures doesnt do it justice. The decor is amazing. Home from home everything you need. The area has everything you could ask for. A few pubs, takeaways and supermarket. A twenty minute drive to Prestatyn. Would recommend
The funky flat is one of the nicest places not only a short trip from where I live anyway, but anywhere I've ever stayed whenever I've been on Holiday abroad. Me and my girlfriend stayed for 3 nights with our 2 dogs, I'd booked it as a surprise, as two of her friends were coming to stay aswell being a Birthday surprise and it all went off without a hitch. The hottub is perfect, kitchen stocked full of goodies when we got there, central heating worked a treat and the area itself is just nice and chilled, with a big tesco within a minute's walking distance. Would highly recommened it for anyone from young groups to the elderly that dont mind walking upstairs. We will definitely be back. 5 STARS!
This apartment was great fun. The owners had put a lot of work into making it different and it certainly was. A magical wonderland!
Andrew
Our family had a brilliant holiday at the Funky Flat. The flat is absolutely brilliant with loads of chatacter and home comforts. Jonny and Diane are excellent hosts who are extremely creative. We loved the generous welcome pack and the provision of those things that really make a difference ie coffee, tea, salt and pepper, toilet roll etc... We would recommend this holiday flat!
The Flat was exactly as listed funky! A really cool place, very comfortable inside and the outside space and hot tub were amazing. We met our hosts several times, they were very friendly and welcoming. We had an issue with the lock on the door, mentioned it to Diane, went out for an hour and it had been checked and the lock changed when we came back. Great service. Would recommend.
A beautiful place! Owners were very tentative, even gave us a lift to the pub. Lots of attention to detail in the property. Extras of wine, fizzy pop and breakfast was a nice touch. A really lovely stay x

The flat was spotless, a fridge full of goodies when we arrived including milk so we could get a brew straight away, in the middle of a lovely little town with everything you need pubs, takeaways and newsagents. Great terrace to chill out on with hot tub and BBQ. Hosts only a phone call away if need anything,
I have been working in and around north Wales for the past 5 months this is the best property we have stayed in great place fantastic host! looking forward to visiting again

This was our first UK holiday with our dog and we were quite worried that dog friendly wouldnt be all that friendly. Turns out, we neednt have worried at all. Dianne and Jonny were so welcoming, helpful, and went out of their way to answer our questions they even set up a little dog pool for our lad. The facilities were great, had literally everything we needed, and all of the bedding, towels, and soft furnishings felt new and lovely quality. Decor was amazing, kooky but stunning and we had everything we needed. Oh and the hot tub and gas BBQ amazing additions!! The welcome pack treats for us and the dog was such a lovely added touch, as was the handwritten card. If we are ever in the area again, well be staying here!! Only thing to be aware of and the owners warned us about this the garden area floor can get very hot if you get a sunny day! A little runner to lay out might be helpful and keep feet and paws safe.

Great little flat. It's right on the high street and you enter from the rear so really easy in terms of bringing up bags etc. There are metal steps up to the flat through a secure door. Really clean and decorated beautifully as the pics show! The bedding & towels smelt AMAZING! Only thing missing is maybe some fluteswine glasses but tesco is literally across the rd. Gorgeous welcome pack on arrival, plenty of things like toilet roll, blue roll, washing up liquid etc. Carpets are really soft and rugs are beautiful. Beds comfy and blackout curtains in bedrooms help with a great night's sleep! Terrace is a little suntrap! All in all, would definitely recommend. Met the hosts too as they were decorating another property nearby, they were lovely and friendly & really to put effort and thought into the properties. Thanks for a great stay!
We've stayed at the Funky Cottage over the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May. The pictures does not give a true account of how funky the flat is. From the moment we stepped in it felt like home The decor is amazing, the house was clean and tidy and very spacious. Even though there is no allocated parking spaced it was not a problem at all there was always a few empty spaces. There is plenty to do and go around the area. Kids enjoyed it a lot, specially finding all the games in the treasure chest. The hot tub is a bonus! Definitely recommend!
We really liked the Funky Flat. Its in the heart of Holywell with both Tesco's and the Greenfield Valley a short walk away. The flat is a funky oasis with all we needed. We did have some problems with the hot water system but the owner was really responsive and helpful in getting it sorted out.

Lovely and quirky flat Really enjoyed our stay Lots of home comforts Loved the hot tub
We loved staying at the funky flat. It was very cosy with lots of space. The owners had put a lot of thought and love into the home and everything was well equipped. We spent alot of time in the home and was a great place to chill out with the hot tub and bbq made it and we went in Feb so can only imagine how good the flat would be in the summer. Thanks for the lovely stay.

The funky flat Apartment, we went for a week, the flat was nicely made as the name suggests its funky and lovely to stay. The owner lives close by so any problems or doubts we had they were a call away. She was very helpful and kind. They are locals so suggested where to go etc. overall it was nice cozy clean and thoughtful property. Everything works within property. Location is on high street so food grocery are sorted. We would recommend to go for a week.

The flat is definitely funky! . The decor is great and very quirky with large rooms and comfortable beds. The main bedroom is huge and we enjoyed cosying up in the lounge in the evenings on comfortable sofas and Sky Glass TV. Location is good with plenty of shops, takeaways and pubs. It is easier to park at the rear of the flat where the entrance is and costs only 1.70 per day. We visited nearby Chester which has a great town centre and the local Green Heritage Walk was lovely with our dog. This would be an amazing base in the summer as there is a large terrace, hot tub, bbq and sun loungers.
Where do I start? Arrived last night to a fabulous property. The decor is quirky, classy and right up my street! Couldn't get a more central and has everything you need. Diane left us a handwritten note, a lovely welcome pack containing savoury goodies, water, cola and a chippy meal
