The Schoolhouse Brewhouse Reviews

Siobhan
Everything was as listed. Very comfortable plenty of space, all one level, parking, kitchen and bathrooms very good.
The holiday cottage was lovely. Adrian came to meet us on our arrival. He told us about the village and the places to eat and drink. We went to the open market which they hold once a year. Fantastic. The hot tub was the big bonus we used it every day smashing. Adrian checked on us and we said everything was fine. Would recommend this cottage to anyone. We are going back next year See you next year Adrian
Cant fault the flat and Adrian the is very knowledgable on the area. Everything from walks, cycle routes, shops and food. He seemed to appear if we had a question but equally never noticed him otherwise. Flat is quiet and private and everything easy too find and use and laid out very well. Highly recommend for cycling although always a bit of climb start and finish.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hot tub and garden are lovely and Adrian was a kind and helpful owner. We appreciated the electric car charger. Bishop's Castle is a great little town with lots of facilities.
Brooke
We had a lovely stay. The apartment is very family friendly. Little things such as childrens plastic plates and cutlery are a huge help. Access to a hose for cleaning walking boots, games and puzzles which we got stuck into! and an abundance of maps available for walking. Shops and eating amenities walking distance. The hot tub was fantastic after a big climb up the hills. Adrian was lovely and very helpful. No issues at all, would highly recommend and hope to visit again. EV charging out in the country was a huge attraction to us! It allowed us to explore further. The whole family loved this stay! Thank you
Kathryn
A lovely apartment with a fantastic picture window with the added bonus of a hot tub. We had a very comfortable week.
Raymond
The property was very comfortable and well equipped. The owner was readily available should we have had any problems or questions. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
Barbara
Excellent property and location could not find fault. It was as described on web site. Owner provided good information on house and the area. Some very good recommendations.
We have had a perfect stay at the cottage. On arrival, the owner greeted us and provided us with knowledgeable information about the area. The cottage is very spacious and homely with everything you need to hand. The vast selection of board games came in useful as unfortunately we had a lot of rain but still managed to make good use of the tennis courts and hot tub! Bishops Castle centre is a 2 minute walk and has an exceptional pub and hotel close where the serve very good food.
Lovely property and surrounding area. Owner very friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend and would hope to return in the future
Annette
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Owner met us at the property and went through everything with us. Lovely man and knowledgeable about the area. The property is very well equipped and spacious for us 4 adults 2 couples. Beds were very comfortable for us with spotlessly clean bedding and towels provided. Hot tub was amazing we made very good use of this! Welcoming local pubs serving foodwithin a few minutes walking distance. Private garden lovely to relax in and just listen to the birdsong. Overall, we had a lovely relaxing break and were very happy with everything. If there is one thing that could be improved upon then the shower cubicles need a bit of TLC around the bases i.e. the sealant around the trays needs to be replaced. The showers themselves were just fine its just a finer point perhaps to note for the future. We would certainly visit again
We had a lovely few days at the Schoolhouse Brewhouse. The owner was welcoming and helpful and the property had all we needed. The garden and hot tub provided a perfect place to relax after being out and about in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Bishops Castle is a delightful village with great pubs and cafes, interesting independent shops and an excellent base for exploring further afield. Perfect for a countryside holiday whatever your interests, this holiday home has something for everyone. I'd not hesitate to return.
Great property, very clean, very comfortable and everything you need for a comfy relaxing break. The owner was ovely, showed us everything around. We are considering coming back one of the better places we stayed at.
Russell
An absolutely thoroughly enjoyable and delightful little holiday, complimented by a genuine grade A host.
Excellent host. Great position for all amenities.
Michael
We had a brilliant cottage everything we needed was supplied the hot tub was outstanding constant hot water all day and night . the owners always on hand if there were any problems but there were none.
Lovely place and ideal for walking into bishops castle and nice walks from cottage. Lovely hot tub was a bonus. Adrian very friendly and helpful. Will return in future fir another visit
Apartment was lovely and central for exploring area, was very well equipped with everything you needed. Hot tub was fantastic. Owner made us feel most welcome.
Vincent
Needs a little TLC on the site. Awesome venue, amazing holiday.
Melanie
Spacious and comfortable accommodation, very well equipped. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The decor and furniture is rather dated, but that didnt detract from our really enjoyable experience and we would stay there again. It was lovely to have the garden, hot tub and tennis court which we used every day. The house is in a prime location and the village is lovely, with plenty of pubs serving good food. There is lots to see and do in the local area and there are some nice walks from the house. The house owner, Adrian is friendly and helpful.
The cottage is in a superb location close to the Three Tuns and Castle pubs in Bishop's Castle. There is a large window with a partial view of Long Mynd which was nice to stare at. Furnishings are ok if a little dated but beds are comfortable and the owner is friendly and helpful. He was very apologetic that the dishwasher broke down on the third day of our stay but that shouldn't be a problem for anyone else as he was going to replace it! Just unlucky for us! The whole area is superb for walking and touring round and we may well return!
Very good location with shops, pub and restaurants near by and a relaxed ... Very good location with shops, pub and restaurants near by and a relaxed atmosphere the owner was friendly and available had a nice week
Richard
Great stay And friendly landlord
Sykes were very helpful finding two adjacent properties for us as we had to social distance with our daughters who were visiting with us. Adrian, the owner, could not have been more helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much, particularly the hot tub!
Duncan
Cottage with great view to Long Mynd from the large window in the main room. Good sized accommodation for four with all facilities including hot tub in the garden. Only a hundred yards or so from the High Street including the excellent Castle hotel, Three Tuns pubbrewery and the take away. It was my third holiday in or by Bishop's Castle an historic small town in the wonderful Shropshire Hills. A deeply rural and scenic area. Easy also for midWales. Friendly owner of the property. A great corner of this fascinating town.
Anthony
Its always a pleasure to stay here. My wife and I have stayed here 4 times and it's never disappointed. There's pubs and restaurants takeaways within a couple of minutes walking distance or you can use the fully equipped kitchen to cook whatever you want. We like to put something in the oven the go and chill in the hot tub whilst its cooking. I honestly couldn't find a fault on any of ours stays
The cottage was fantastic. Very clean with everything you needed for a week's holiday. Within easy reach of the local town for pubs and local shop. Adrian the owner was excellent, friendly and helpful with information. Hot tub was brilliant.
Makaela
Fantastic cottage in great location with excellent facilities and very well equipped. The lovely garden with hot tub and tennis courts were a real bonus. Only a few minutes walk from Bishop Castle High street and lots of lovely walks from the door. Would definitely recommend.
It was like a home from home. Adrian, the owner was lovely and made us feel so welcome. It had everything you needed salt, pepper, slow cooker, toastie maker, washing up liquid, games and jigsaws. I've been to other lodges and never had the amount of equipment or little extras that this place had. We had the sun loungers out in the garden, played tennis on the tennis courts and enjoyed the hot tub. The area around was a bit hilly but was fine to us. There's also a big childrens park at the bottom of the hill if it's a dry day. We loved our stay here! Well done Adrian!
Apartment was lovely and very comfortable everything you needed but the garden was a bit of a disappointment the garden furniture had seen better days the summer house seemed to be a dumping ground for old garden furniture so was not for purpose also balcony furniture was unusable could not comment on hot tub as we did not use it .
Good welcome from owner, lots of local knowledge. Very convenient to walk into town but open views to countryside. Plenty to do in town especially with the festival events
The owners were welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in a lovely location.
A great place for a relaxing holiday. Has everything you need and more. My teenage son and his friends loved the hot tub and tennis courts. Would definitely stay here again.
Gaynor
The environment is gorgeous, with such ease of access to so many wonderful places of interest, cycle rides and walks. Our accommodation was superb, we had absolutely everything we needed, with the bonus of a hot tub to ease ourselves at the end of a busy day. Our host was so attentive and helpful, and Bishops Castle is an undiscovered gem.
Lovely cozy cottage in an excellent location. Lovely, spacious and very clean. Some lovely walks from the doorstep, pubs and shops in walking distance. Lots of useful information in the cottage. The hot tub is a wonderful treat and well maintained. The owner is very friendly and helpful. My only recommendation would be a few basic condiments would be helpful and some lights near hot tub. This was my second stay here and Ill definitely be returning.
Fabulous location. Accommodation was perfect for our long weekend away with our 8 month old baby. High chair and travel cot available at the cottage. Adrian recommended a walk up Bury Ditches which was a lovely walk we even managed to take the pram up there, stunning views once we reached the top. Would definitely stay here again.
Michael
The cottage is very well maintained and clean. The bedrooms are of a good size, both en suite with showers. The garden is small but enclosed and includes a hot tub which is quite big. The surrounding area is very picturesque and we had a lovely week visiting the local sites of interest. Bishops Castle is an old quaint village with a good supply of shops. But beware it is very hilly and quite a climb from the cottage to the top of the village. However persevere and it will be worth it. The Three Tuns is worth a visit for food and the brewery next door which provides the ale!
For anyone with mobility issues the town is hilly and the cottage is at the bottom of a steep hill, this was not a problem for us but maybe for other visitors.
Elaine
Very clean and spacious property and the hot tub was just great. Only reason we would not book it again is because we like going to different places
