Ash Tree Lodge Reviews

Sandra
The lodge was immaculate. It was really nice being tucked away in the corner with open grassed area so we were comfortable with the children playing outside. Really enjoyed our stay and kids have asked to come back.
Charles
My fiancee and I had booked another lodge about 30 mins from this one and due to it being wholly unsuitable for people to stay in we were forced to find somewhere else or go home. After couple of hours the team at sykes, who were amazing and bent over backwards to help us, had managed to contact the owners of Ash Tree Lodge. They agreed to allow us to stay 4 nights with 45 minutes notice. The lodge is set in the beautiful countryside on the outskirts of york, less than 30 mins drive from the very centre. There is everything you could want and need there for you with a coop 5 mins down the road. There is a local pub called The Three Cups and their service and food is second to none. We went twice! There was a power cut on our last night which was due to a thunderstorm, the owners did everything they could and kept us in the loop all the time. The Lodge itself is beautiful. Extremely spacious inside, superbly well equipped and spotlessly clean to boot. The crown jewel and what made our weekend perfect was the hot tub. This was set to the side of the lodge and it was perfectly secluded and private. You could make it as intimate an experience as you wanted to and not be disturbed. The view of the heavens in the late evening and night from the tub is breathtaking. This is definitely the place to book and we are seriously considering coming back here for our honeymoon.

Only problem was the leaking gutter right over the front door. Didn't affect our stay too much, just had to dodge the drips and avoid the ice on the decking.
The lodge was great we had everything we needed and more. It is really spacious and comfortable.
Malcolm
Very nice clean lodge cant fault it. Location is ln a field facing another lodge a reasonable distance away but no scenic views which some lodges we have been in have. The traffic noise could only be heard outside the lodge and was not bad at all. Access to york is very good with the park and ride just 5 miles away
Victoria
Really impressed with locationcabin itself. Will be back for another holiday in the future
This property 100 deserves it's outstanding rating. It has everything you could need or wish for, it's well appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable, very spacious but cosy at the same time. Great location to explore from, would not hesitate to recommend and hopefully will be returning in the future.
We have just stayed at this cabin for 3 nights. It is absolutely beautiful. It has everything you need for a lovely break away. The hot tub is amazing. The owner is lovely. I Was quite surprised at the size of the cabin it is a lot bigger than I expected! It is perfect. We will definitely come back here.
Samantha
This property was beautiful! ! It had gone through a refurb since the pictures and it was absolutely incredible. The host is lovely & I cant wait for the next stay!!
We enjoy our stay so much very clean and modern. Very welcoming by becky showing us to our cabin. The only thing I would like for next time is that my wife I visually impaired and the lighting outside the cabin wasnt very good.
The lodge was immaculate, super clean and just perfection. It's nicely set away from other lodges, which was a blessing for us with a toddler running round. Beautiful views to wake up to in the morning. The hot tub was also very relaxing. If I had to be super picky, my only suggestion would be abit of WD40 on the squeeky door handles it woke our toddler up but thats literally the only thing I could pick out. We will 100 be staying here again!
Lovely break, great lodge for a family! The only down side was the double bed was very small, Im 51 and could touch the bottom of it. But regardless very comfortable, perfectly located and everything you could possibly need was provided! X
It was a lovely quiet place , immaculate. The lodge was amazing and the bed so comfy. Would definitely go back.
Charlie
We have a wonderful week away with our toddler at Ashtree Lodge. The Lodge was extremely spacious and very well equipped. It feels very secluded and private with lots of land around the Lodge. The hot tub is very well taken care of and lovely to wind down after a long day. Would recommend this lodge to couple or families who are after a mix of relaxing and days exploring. We had lots of days out and it is perfect for visiting York, Scarborough, Bridlington and we even went to the Deep in Hull on a wet day. The owner Becky was fantastic and all the information you need provided on an online manual. Perfect October trip for us Thank you!!
We have had a fantastic holiday at Ash Tree Lodge. It was very clean, perfect quiet position on the site & well equipped with everything you would need for a perfect stay. This included plenty of kitchen equipment, washerdryer, dishwasher & of course the amazing hot tub. There is also plenty of storage space in the walk in wardrobes in the bedrooms. There was some road noise at night as stated in the site description, but it didn't bother us and we are used to a very quiet location at home. The hot tub was fantastic and well looked after & maintained during our stay. The area is beautiful with some amazing places to visit. In the little village of Stamford Bridge we enjoyed meals at the New Derwent Bistro and at the Three Cups. We also had great takeaways from Stamford Pizza and the Chinese. We have had wonderful days out at Bridlington Bird of Prey and Animal park make sure you stay for the 1pm bird show if you go there, Whitby, Scarborough, Flamingoland, York & many more. There is so much to see and do in the area you will not be bored. We would not hesitate to return to Ash Tree Lodge or the area. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
Nice spacious lodge with all the amenities that you need. Location is down to the individual on how close you want to be near York, it suited us. The only major negative for us was the leather settee wasnt very comfortable & could of done with more cosy furniture to relax in. Overall a fantastic lodge one of the best ones we have stayed in with a nice hot tub to use.
Fantastic to spend new year in this lovely spacious lodge, everything we needed ... Fantastic to spend new year in this lovely spacious lodge, everything we needed was there, adults & kids loved it, especially the hot tub, so relaxing, would definitely go back
Very tranquil settings. Peace and quiet even though the road was about 50yards away only a motorcycle was heard. Ash Tree Lodge was fantastic, the hot tub was wonderful for relaxing and easing from exploring York and the surrounding area. Will be going back again for sure. As York area has so many places to visit, that i have yet to discover. 10 out of 10 from myself.
Most relaxing holiday lovely lodge in a peaceful environment would definitely return
Shower head in main bedroom bathroom was damaged and was leaking a jet of water, the actual shower cubical was very small . The main bathroom no shower ... also the toilet was so close to the bath that you hit your knees on the side of the bath .
Anne-marie
Amazing accommodation. Lodge was extremely well equipped with everything you needed. Definitely home from home. Couldnt have improved it at all.
Hannah
The lodge was beautiful pictures dont do it justice. Its quiet and clean and just what me and my partner needed for a weekend away. The hot tub was also amazing. All in all everything exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be going back soon.
Darren
Very clean and spacious lodge. Loved the hot tub. Welcome pack was very much appreciated. A very relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the country.
Debbie
The only issue was the cost, it was very expensive and that is the reason you got 7 and not higher.
Ash Tree Lodge is a hidden gem! !! We were excited for our break after making the booking, but were totally overwhelmed when we got there and discovered how great the lodge was! It is spacious, has everything you could want and was beautifully decorated. The description does not do it justice. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and there was a 'welcome pack' with milk, butter etc. We would definitely go back to Ash Tree Lodge.
The Cabin was more then we ever expected, very spaces and relaxing, had everting you could need for a perfect week away.
Very relaxed can't wait to get back again. It's a great place for doing other trips and activities in the area of York. The hot tub is excellent after a long day I'm york.
Claire
