Seascape Villa Reviews

Mr Sullivan
Great property!
Mrs Blueman
One of the best places we have stayed, hopefully we will be back soon.
Stunning house in a stunning location. Stayed here with a group of friends for a long weekend and loved every minute, the house has been recently renovated and to such a high standard, ensuite bathrooms in every room and downstairs entertaining kitchen and living rooms are amazing. Will definitely be back to enjoy this beauty in the summer!
Mrs Atkin
The house is absolutely stunning and everything has been thought of for big groups staying there, 3 fridges, two dishwashes, 2 sinks, the kitchen was so well equipped and everything was such good quality. Then there were the little details like bread and milk on arrival and the details that made you feel like you were staying in a luxury hotel, the robes, the handwash, the shampoo and body wash in the shower and oh my goodness the diffusers! We took our 83 year old Nan with us and the hosue is in the perfect location so that she was able to get round filey town on foot. While we were there we visited the Filey Gin Distillery, we would definitely recommend it just a 10min walk the Gin is amazing and we all left with a bottle! Thank you, we will be back!
Mrs Hole
This property was amazing and the best we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated and had everything you needed. The Robes were an extra add touch for the hot tub which you don't normally get in the properties.. We can't wait to book and stay here again.
Mrs Bailey
Lovely spacious well kept house in a central location. Well furnished and plenty of room for the fourteen in our party to sit down and eat together. The towelling robes in each bedroom were amazing and so useful before and after entering the hot tub. This was so popular with the youngsters in our party. On arrival at the property we struggled to find the two allocated parking slots and there was nowhere free at the front at that time. This was rather frustrating. Not sure whether we missed any directions given in the information or whether this needs to be addressed. Plenty of crockery in the kitchen. Few minor issues, it would have been useful to have more than one tea towel and also a set of oven mitts provided. Toilet roll was very limited roughly half a roll in each bathroom. The downstairs cloakroom was extremely small. Not really suited to people over 6 foot who made up half of the party. Also it lead straight into the dining roomkitchen. Appreciate the rooms are ensuite but if your room is on the second floor its a long treck for the toilet. Overall a lovely property with the benefit of a hot tub. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely return.
Mr Burgon
Fantastic property. Well thought out family accommodation and in great condition. Well situated to enjoy Filey. We will return again. A couple of observations no criticism or complaint. We felt some of the furniture although comfortable was not robust enough for rental. The dining chairs and 3 seater sofa in particular were a concern. We fully agree with your request to clean the house before leaving but felt you could meet us half way by providing a vacuum cleaner that worked! It was blocked and still did not work after I unblocked and emptied it.
Mrs Stott
Lovely house, lovely area. The main problem for us, was the problem with the hot water in the bedrooms. It was finally sorted out with correspondence with Natalie after some time. Also, one bedroom, top floor middles shower not good.
Miss Bushell
Fabulous house with plenty of room for our large family. Couldnt fault it, equipped with everything we needed, plenty of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. Fantastic dining table for everyone to sit around telling tales of the day. Comfy beds, great bathrooms, hot tub was very welcome as were the bath robes provided. Thanks to housekeeper for communications. Would definitely recommend the house and Filey. Already booked again for next year!
Mr Tonks
Lovely house. Very clean, comfortable and warm. The robes were a nice touch for the hot tub. Lovely decor throughout. Would love to have had access to a smart speaker to play music in the kitchen and some board games to play around the fabulous dining table. The kitchen was well stocked with mugs, glasses, plates etc but as noted by other guests in the guestbook was a bit light on cooking utensils. It needs measuring jugs andor serving jugs nothing to make and serve custard or gravy in! Only 1 serving spoon and utensils need to be stronger and wooden or metal. i.e Not plastic that bends when used.
Miss Binley
Property would benefit from having a clothes airer.
Miss Fetherston
The property was very nice and spacious our children loved the very large ... The property was very nice and spacious our children loved the very large kitchen and the hot tub,but the property is not really well taken care of,bedrooms and beds not really as they are described and the maintenance is very poor there was a cracked front window, the dishwashers was blocked and didn't work so we could not use them, the drains from the sinks in kitchen gave off a bad smell of rotten eggs the showers in bedroom was cold water after 5 minutes and didn't drain properly one of the top rings on cooker did not work and the oven filled the kitchen with smoke when you used it because it was not cleaned properly, and as we was leaving the property the two very young girls that came to clean the property was to young and in experienced to clean a lovely property like that they had no cleaning equipment with them at all
Mr Stirk
Really enjoyed the house. It was clear that careful thought had been out into it for accommodation for a large group having 2 kettles, toasters etc really helped. Everything was of a good standard, the street was very quiet despite being so central. We would like to make the owners aware that one beanbag was split when we arrived and we had to tidy up the small balls out of it. We left that under the stairs. The sink in the kitchen and the platebowl cupboard did not smell pleasant. The bollards were down when we got there, with no padlock as mentioned in the details. So we were unable to lock them on leaving. The bollards also caused issues for our cars as they stick up quite a bit. We had emailed to ask for one of the super kings to be made into a twin weeks before we arrived. No acknowledgement to the email was given and the bed wasn't made into a twin. However, it is a lovely house, really centrally placed and we thoroughly enjoyed our days away.
Mrs Whiting
We had a wonderful family holiday celebrating two birthdays. Seascape is a great facility and provides a marvellous base to explore the area. The hot tub was a real bonus. We made lots of good memories to share. The age range is 5 to 85 and everyone had the best time, Natalie was a great help with the little queries we had. The only negative was not having a recycling facility
Mrs Callan
Seascape Villa is a beautiful property right in the centre of Filey. Eleven of us had a fantastic weekend and the house was clean, very comfortable, warm and spacious. We loved the big kitchen table! Very well stocked with equipment. Easy to park on the street once the two designated parking spaces were used. We will definitely return in the future.
Mrs Singleton
It was a very comfortable and well equipped house, we very much enjoyed our holiday and this accommodation was a significant factor in that. There were a few minor issues with the house nothing that marred our stay and only things that we would want attention drawn to as owners. We left a list in the property.
Mrs Lees
Fantastic property! Would love to stay again!
Mrs Boynton
A well equipped and very spacious holiday home suitable for all ages. The extra large dining table was excellent for a large group to sit round and have an after dinner chat, or in our familys case the whole evening sitting there with a glass of wine reminiscing. I even cooked a Sunday roast for 11 people once Id mastered how to turn the oven on. Instructions were provided. The house is close to the beach and to the shops. Filey is a thriving little seaside town. On street parking can be a problem on busy days although 2 parking spaces are provided. Hope to come back next time we are in the UK.
Mrs Hogg
Fabulous property with plenty of rooms and bathrooms.
Mrs Goddard
Fantastic spacious house close to all the amenities. Slow draining sink on top floor only
Mrs Fell
On the 1st night the hot water had a terrible smell like a dead mouse or something off that kind the fennel we wash our faces in was as bad. We reported to Natalie several occasions and never heard a thing. It smelt like it all week. We could not enjoy our long soaks in the bath or showers. Not all beds had mattress protectors or pillow protectors. We have not been put off from coming back as we love the house and we would like to go back next August.
Really great home, we loved it!
Miss Cameron
Beautiful home, had everything we required, haa it did take us a while to find the hidden cutlery drawer, we had the best time, we did not want to leave, only negative is there is a strong smell from the drains, more noticeable first thing early morning, however not enough to put us off we Will most definitely be back. ..we would love to come back in the summer.. Ps the kids lost their money bags x3 we looked everywhere i dont suppose they where found...
Mrs Mcviegh
A really lovely property perfect for our extended family break. The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The housekeeper Natalie was very helpful, when we had a couple of small queries. We would definitely recommend this to our friends
Mrs Webster
Lovely property. So useful each bedroom having its own en suite. The kitchen was well equipped and the large table perfect for our breakfasts and New Years Eve meal. Good size TV and plenty of lounge seating. Parking poor for such a large house, make it clear there are only 2 spaces. Good location close to beach front and walks. Suggestions Top floor showers controls dated and we struggled to control the temperature There were no dishwasher tablets, no extra toilet rolls or any bin liners. A blue bottle bin outside would have been useful . Overall we had an excellent stay , perfect house and location. Thank you.
Mrs Finney
Booked for short break of 12 to celebrate our friends 60th and it didn't disappoint. Very clean and tidy had everything we needed. The only criticism is the dining chairs are a bit precarious when you lean back on them, we had one member of our group fall backwards other than that can't fault this property good time had by all.
Mrs Featherstone
The property was fabulous. Very clean and well stocked. Hot tub was very hot and clean.Great location and very quiet. Parking a added bonus. I just think you should make it clear in your details that the bunk bed room guests have to actually go through another bedroom to access the ensuite. Ok for children but not adults! Very disappointing to see same sex groups no longer welcome. We would have definitely returned. Sue
Mrs Mcqueen
Excellent house for the14 of us. It was spacious and very comfortable. The provision of Bath robes for the hot tub was a luxurious touch, so was the provision of high quality hand wash, shampoo and body wash in all bathrooms. The ease of parking 2 cars at the back of the property in the middle of filey was well appreciated. The beds were very comfortable, not all the sizes described but this did not matter to us. Was fabulous having 2 dish washers and 2 washing machines, also 3 fridges for our big family. Would highly recommend this house and we will be back
Mrs Hartland
The only fault we found was inadequate number and size of cooking equipment for the number of people to be cooked for. eg big pans, cafetier, big bowls and no colander. Everything else very good.
Mrs Staniforth
This house was lovely and in a great location. 5 minutes walk to the beach, and 5 to the shops. The house was warm kept reasonably warm throughout our stay, it was beautifully decorated with new carpets from top to bottom, lovely clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. Loads of room for 10 adult over 50s women to have a great time. Free parking on the street and around the back of the house was a real bonus. The kitchen and dinning area was excellent, a large range, loads of fridge space, and two dishwasher. Also the jacuzzi was very clean and lovely and warm.
Mrs Adams
We've had a wonderful week with all our family in this fantastic property in a great location. The house is tastefully appointed to a high standard with the added benefit of a hot tub. It's right in the middle of the town with just a short walk to the beach. We would thoroughly recommend this house.
Mrs Peacock
This is a wonderful house in a fabulous location. It's very comfortable and the hot tub and huge table were such great additions to making our family party very special. The rooms are lovely. We had issues with lack of hot water, shower fittings which had to be tightened which have been mentioned before in the guest book. A welcome folder with tips on rubbish, recycling, laundry and appliance instructions would be very helpful. There were very ample supplies of cutlery, crockery and the two dishwashers were a great idea. Only 4 wine glasses though, for a house which can take 14. For clarity I think it needs to be made evident the bunk bed is not a separate room from the double with which it shares a bath. Perhaps list it as a family room? Or perhaps a floorplan? We would all very happily return and hope we do. The housekeeper was very helpful and quick to respond.
Ms Rowland
Everyone loved it and we will definately book for next year. The location and standard of the property was excellent. Facilities were great too. One thing to note though, we had all run out of loo roll after the first night we had to run around in the morning looking for a box of tissues until we had chance to get to the shops. I personally think this is a definate no no!! Also there needs to be more wine glasses. Apart from that all the other little details were brilliant. We loved it. And will return next September if not before. The house keeper was great, helpful and communicated well before we arrived, thanks Natalie for being a star!!
Mr Straw
We had a brilliant holiday at Seascape Villa, which suited our threegeneration family well, including two babies and four children aged from 14 to 2! We were so impressed once we arrived, despite a little fiddling with the key safe as two sets of keys had unfortunately been jamed into one safe excellent response to a Friday afternoon phone call to Sykes, however, and the issue was resolved promptly. I echo much of what was commented on in the reviews given so far. The property is large and accommodating, with the renovation tastefully carried out to give airy spaces and excellent facilities. The hot tub was much used, The property is in a central location, very near the beach and numerous cafes, fish and chip shops , grocery and other stores, so was ideal for all of us. Footgolf, the beach and the playgrounds were much appreciated. One or two observations definitely NOT criticisms!! on the website, the accommodation is given as 2 superkingsized beds, 4 king sized and one bunkbedded room. In fact, the accommodation is as follows one superkingsized room on the middle floor and two standard doubles one superkingsized room on the top floor which was converted as asked to two singles before we arrived thank you!, together with one kingsized bed and one standard double adjoining the bunkbedded room. The smaller beds were fine by us, but if visitors were expecting a kingsized they might be disappointed and it's important that the website is accurate. I agree with the reviewer who commented on the dining room chairs being a little wobbly. We found with such a large family that the two washing machines and tumble drier were in frequent use, but could have done with a laundry basket, an indoor airer and some clothes pegs we bought a few and left them. We are also a family who enjoys baking, so scales, a rolling pin, a wooden spoon and an electric whisk would have been great! A colandersieve was also lacking. Having two fridgefreezers plus a small fridge, two dishwashers and a double cooker was absolutely brilliant for a large family! I do hope these comments are helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others or indeed to come back ourselves! We are a Yorkshire family who have been exiled down south for 40 years, so we understand value for money!!
Mrs Bradshaw
Overall it was very welcoming but we cannot give full ratings because the bins were over flowing on arrival and even after reporting the situation nothing was done. One of the fridge freezers was leaking and the dishwashers should have a full service because they were not cleaning to the full standard. The shower over the bath on the second floor was leaking out of the shower box and it had an ill fitting toilet seat. On the third floor in the room with the bunk beds and the double bed the shower head holder kept falling off of the wall. We did have to take a few notes of things that were already there like the marks on the settee and the rug and the cracked window and the car parking post was broken. We hadnt realised we needed to request single beds on the third floor but the owners were quick to replace the sheets for us to change them over. The space was very lovely and the house itself was very inviting and comfortable and it fit everyone in perfectly, like the table and all of the bedrooms. The hot tub was a nice touch as well and everyone felt very content with mostly everything.
Ms shall
The property was well equipped and there were nice touches including robes, hand wash, shampoo and shower wash. Some of the towels are ready for replacement. The biggest problem was the lack of instructions. Other properties have had a file with instructions and advice in it. This property had nothing! We found the wifi code in the guestbook by accident. It was a guessing game with the heating, TV and showers. The signal for all the TVs was was, at times, poor and the TV in the lounge pixellated, lost sound and picture. This needs attention. The TVs in the bedrooms also suffered in the same way. At one time we had no signal to TV and this was reported to Sykes who said they would contact the owners but nothing happened! A shower totally packed in during our stay. All this is a shame as the house was nice but our stay could have been helped by a few instructions and hints. Great position and off street parking was a big help. Nice to find bread, milk and some tea and coffee on arrival.
MS Stacey
Excellent location, Had everything we needed. Natalia the housekeeper provided fantastic communication. Well definitely be back.
Miss Scanlon
Lovely house with more than enough space for a large family party. Recently renovated and very well decorated. Theres enough bathroom space for everyone too.The house is a short walk from a very beautiful stretch of beach, local shops and some lovely walks. We had a few teething problems with a few things but Natalie and the team were always helpful and did their best to fix things. Would definitely go back here. Everyone loved it.
Mrs Woodcock
We loved our stay at seascape villa. The house was amazing with a luxury spa feel, highly recommended.
Mrs Stanford
This was the perfect place to stay. We were three couples celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The house has everything you could need. The hot tub was lovely and every single bedroom was gorgeous. We would definitely stay again.
