Lord Landless Reviews

The property was more dated than expected. T V remote did not work and was also warped screen. Dishwasher did not work. Called Syke cottages and was told owner aware. However nothing done to address issues. I find this poor given the price.
The lodge gave the impression of very basic box ticking, without much deeper thought. . for example, the knives & forks are plasticmetal so under normal pressure they bend making them unusable. The water pressure struggles, the main bedroom has a sleeping position with the hot tub within 3 feet and the boiler within 2, so noise is constant throughout the night think van engine. Similarly with the white detectors, flashing a bright white light every 30 seconds throughout the night, its tortuous & requires eye masks. Also WiFi not included but the lodge has 3 routers dotted about, clearly available but not offered.. parkdean wifi kept kicking us off. All in all, very grateful & we managed, had a lovely break but not likely to be back. The lodge needs some attention on the small touches, like a welcome pack about the facilities & hot tub etc.. how to minimise noise etc, dont run water when someone is in the shower etc. & new cutlery.. kitchen door handles need a good clean, there's lumpy residue on some of them.
Great location. Unfortunately we ended up cleaning the tables and Decking area on arrivalas this wasn't done prior. There was no welcome package, which we found disappointing also the cutlery was much to be desired with blunt knifes and burnt pans.
Lovely site and lovely lodge. Everything was clean on arrival, although had to hunt for a brush to clear the decking of debris from overhead trees. The hot tub was great and ready to use immediately. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Just little pointers could have done with maybe a few essentials salt pepper, washing up liquid, but everything else was great. Would definitely stay again

Very clean and tidy on arrival Lovely hot tub well maintained somebody came each day to top it up and add the required chemicals Beautiful location Loo seat a bit wonky Would ve liked a visitors information book and a few little welcome gifts wouldve been a lovely added touch Overall lovely place and we enjoyed a great holiday Would recommend and would love to return Thank you
Warm lodge with plenty hot water for showers etc. Hot tub was great addition however if you dont plan to use turn it off as noisy operation 24 hrs a day. Lodge needs major maintenance, shower tray cracked, door frames rotten, dining seating dirty and foam flat, wardrobe door hinge requires fixing. Bathroom extraction fan inoperable may account for mould on wall. Decking slippy and requires cleaning. More of a site issue, trees need cutting back to allow parking. Disappointed overall as not what I would have expected being rated as 4 star.
A great lodge in a fantastic location. We stayed over Christmas and was just what we needed this year to have family together in a peaceful setting.
It was a lovely stay. Unfortunately we had a power cut on our first night though, the light above the hot tub isnt working either so with it being winter and getting dark early this wasnt good as you need a light really. You also need either a pair of scissors or a pizza cutter. Thanks!

A fantastic break and in a lovely setting being 5 to 10 mins from the heart of Windermere and Ambleside. Recommend staying at Lord Landless lodge having the hot tub was a great addition and this was checked daily by the onsite team for cleanliness and any issues throughout the duration of our stay.
Michelle
We enjoyed our stay, the hot tub was lovely and location spot on, peaceful but close to the main facilities. Lodge really needs some maintenance, sofas need a good clean, cutlery desperately needs replacing as do the dining chairs, one of the chair legs is hanging off and is dangerous.
Philippa
A beautiful lodge. Really liked the posh dog bed, so did our pooch Barney! A massive plus is that the lodge is opposite the club house which is very handy. The lodge is taste fully decorated and the beds were very comfy. The hot tub is fantastic!!! Couple of improvements that could easily be implemented 3 more chairs for the ourdoor area more than 3 glasses for drinking water baking sheets to cook pizzas etc.. on the cutlery is quite flimsy to eat with We would definitely come back and stay at the lodge. We wo
There was only 2 outside chairs provided, message sent no responce till leaving day , no measuring jug in kitchen .
The location was fine but the cabin could do with updating, the toaster did not ... The location was fine but the cabin could do with updating, the toaster did not work, the fridge freezer was small and no compartments on the inside front door, only 2 chairs provided outside which had not been cleaned, the overhang from the trees needs cutting back and it would have helped if fly screens were fitted to the patio doors as the lodge gets flooded with midgesmossies etc

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
