Tannery Cottage Reviews

Louise
Absolutely perfect, loved our stay
Monica
This cottage is well equipped, beautifully decorated, spotlessly cleaned, and even has a welcome pack for dogs! The only negative is the dishwasher, we had problems with it and the owner came to have a look at it, but was not able to fix the problem. The location is perfect, with walks starting almost immediately from the front door. Dogs and we lo ved it!!
Elaine
The cottage is pretty in a lovely quiet location. Upstairs was pleasant with two nice sized bedrooms. However downstairs, needs quite a bit of work on it.
Debra
Lovely peaceful cottage, with a little stream out the front. Neighbours were helpful and friendly.
Amy
Really lovely cottage, well decorated and in a lovely location. Owners gave lots of information about the house and how things work, lots to look at in the area. Lots of places to eat in the area, we went to The Saddle room, would really recommend.
Karen
Lovely cottage in beautiful little village of Harmby. 5 minute walk from a waterfall. It's very remote and no shops in the village. Leyburn is nearby but not a quick walk. Arriving late on a Friday I'd advice planning or taking food for dinner. The hottub is Wood fired and takes 3 hours to heat so bare in mind. It is in the front patio and not comp letely private. But it is a great tub and we loved relaxing in there. You are required to replace the logs and kindling... abit cheeky.
Elizabeth
Tannery Cottage is a lovely little cottage nestled between others in a quiet little lane. We had a wonderful time exploring the local countryside and surrounding areas. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable with the added bonus of the hot tub and log burner that we also enjoyed.
Harry
A fabulously equipped cottage, so clean and well equipped in every way including the decor and trimmings, hot tubs a bit of a challenge to heat up but thats probably me, There are lots of walks nearby, and quite a lot of villages in easy driving range, The car parking sounds a bit iffy on the web site but it is easy and conveniently close, all in a ll a lovely place to stay.
Maxine
Had a lovely stay in the cottage, excellent location and beautifully presented - would like to return in a different season

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
