Quantock Barn Reviews

Beautiful home for our Christmas holiday. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay with good quality bedding and towels. The large open plan living area was so lovely for family dining and living. All the bathrooms had high quality showers and facilities. We loved the hot tub and the Christmas tree and decorations made everything very festive. Would highly recommend Quantock Barn.
We had a great stay at Quantock Barn, Stockland. Set in the heart of the Blackdown Hills, we were surrounded by the peaceful picturesque views. It is within easy reach of the beaches and local village. The property was extremely spacious, very comfortable and with excellent cleanliness and amenities in all areas. We were very reliant on an accurate description of the property, as it was essential that there was sufficient space for a large family group, that included an elderly member of our family it fitted this perfectly. I would highly recommend this property to others.

This is a fantastic place to stay and I cant recommend it enough. Quantock Barn is exactly as you see in the pictures the property is huge and we loved the wellequipped openplan kitchen and lounge area. Having all ensuite bedrooms was a lovely addition and is generally a rare find with holiday lets. Everywhere was very clean and really nicely decorated. On arrival wed been left welcome treats of cheese, milk, fresh bread, egg and biscuits which was a really nice touch. We also enjoyed the luxury of a hot tub and loved having the four goats in the paddock opposite they were there sporadically and were surprisingly quiet so no worries of being disturbed! We accidentally broke a wine glass while we were there, which I reported and apologised for and Izzy the owner was round the next day with a replacement. She also checked the hot tub was ready to use and was generally very welcoming and friendly. The barn is secluded and peaceful, but well placed for trips to the countryside and the coast we travelled to Sidmouth and Lyme Regis and Branscombe during our stay. All in all, a real standout place to stay.
We had a great stay at Quantock Barn last week, very peaceful, lots to do in the area. The only problem we encountered was hundreds of flies outside the front of the property our cars were covered and we were unable to open the windows or doors of the property for a few days, there had been a lot of rain and the flies seemed to be less after 3 or 4 days so unsure whether it was the weather or something else. Other than that lovely place to stay.

Beautiful spacious barn with the most generous welcome pack we've ever seen. The barn is very comfortable, a separate chair in the lounge area would be useful as would a washing line. We were so grateful for all the fans as it was extremely warm despite all the rain. The walks in the woods and along the lanes were wonderful, especially spotting the deer and rabbits. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Quantock Barn.

The barn is absolutely stunning and had everything we could possibly need for a our week away. The interior is beautiful, very comfortable and the bath and rainfall showers are really luxurious. We were, however, really disappointed by the hot tub as it went green part way through our stay. I had to scrub the inside of it as far as I could reach but it still had a green tinge to it, despite us adding more chlorine tablets as advised. I've never stayed anywhere where I was required to clean and maintain the hot tub during my stay so this brought down our overall rating of an otherwise lovely holiday.
A wonderful stay at Quantock Barn. Five star spacious accommodation with luxury feel and immaculately clean. Property had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Bedrooms with comfortable beds and luxury linen and pillows, bathroom with plenty of towels. Lovely touch with hamper on our arrival and even a comfy bed for the dog and blanket too. When we arrived the property was lovely and warm with lights on and hot tub was ready. Beautiful secluded and scenic location. Would 100 recommend and will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful time spent in Devon x
Couldnt fault it . Lovely place to stay.

The Barn is absolutely fantastic. It's in a stunning location and is equipped with everything you could possibly need to live there, let alone stay for a week. Everything provided is top quality. We really enjoyed our stay. If I were asked to recommend enhancements I would ask that the fridge freezer be looked at as it very noisy at times and we would have preferred that the rear patio garden be fenced off so that we could have let the dog out unattended without fear of her wandering off, I think the same could apply to small children. Congratulations to the owners, they have a beautiful property.
Michael
Really lovely place. Everything needed for a great break. Lovely hamper on arrival at this really well presented house. Huge communal area and bedrooms complete with comfortable linen and towels. Heating was trivky to.sort out, but Izzi helped with that. Hottub at sunrise and sunset....priceless.
This is an extremely well equipped property. A lot of thought has gone into the furnishings and the kitchen utensils. All the extra things I usually bring with me were not required as it is all there extra toilet rolls, washing up and clothes tablets, baking foil etc. The accommodation is all on one level and beautifully appointed, the kitchen has enough cupboard space with a big fridge and freezer. Plenty of room for our very large dog to spread out and the field around the property was perfect for her to explore whilst we enjoyed the hot tub. The location was ideal for our day trips out to all the wonderful beaches along the Jurassic coastline and there are several farm shops relatively close for any special food shops required and plenty of little towns. Exeter City is only a 30 minute drive away. A perfect place which we would happily return back to.
We had a lovely stay. The internet was down in the area and the owner went out of their way to try and sort this for us even though it was completely out of their control. The property is lovly and the photos really don't do it justice. Would highly recommend.
Kenneth
Well appointed bungalow. Hunt the cutlery draw was fun. The towel racks in the showers should be relocated, a constant head hitting threat where they currently are situated. Great location made for a good holiday. Would be more than happy to return. Thank you.
We have had such a lovely time here with our children, their partners and our dog. The house is spacious, well equipped, the hot tub was great for chilling after a visit to the beach or surrounding places to visit. The owner put fans in all rooms which were much appreciated as we booked the hot week! The outside with the meadow was perfect for our dog and we saw deer in the meadow too. The bi fold doors need a bit of attention. Lots of places nearby to visit and Dalwood Vinery was fabulous if you like wine and a giggle. Highly recommend for a chill with plenty of places to visit also. Thankyou we have made some lovely memories while staying here.
Natalie
Lovely Home . Would recommend a new lid for the hot tub and the bio fold doors need adjusting but apart from that the accommodation is lovely . Everything you need is there
This property is a real credit to the owner. It was so lovely, perfect for what we needed, beds were so comfy with top quality bedding. Everything you needed throughout the property. The setting and views were gorgeous. It was such a peaceful location not too far from everywhere. We have already said we will Book it again. Thank you for the welcome basket Such a lovely thought
Jennifer
The property is not suitable for warmer months, it gets far too hot, which is made worse by there being no air con to cool it down and if you try and open a window to get any breeze through, you are attacked by countless flying bugs, its impossible. Maybe some fans would help but due to the nature of the building it would just be pushing hot air around. The bedrooms lacked storage, a set of draws wouldve been helpful rather than just one wardrobe each. The inside of the house was mostly clean, the light fixtures hadnt been cleaned and the windows hadnt either. The kitchen was lacking baking trays and pans you definitely couldnt come close to cooking a roast but the hot tub made our nails green so we emptied it and cleaned it ourselves, it was filthy. The grass outside the property is only about mowed about a fifth maybe less of what the pictures display, the rest is long grass that you cant walk through even with wellies on.
