Posbury Lodge Reviews

Philip
This is a beautiful cottage with beautiful surroundings we would definitely return,if I am being fussy the only small critique was that the games room to small for the pool table as you can't cue around it with a full size cue and it could definitely do with recover but otherwise we loved it.
Pauline
We have just got back from a lovely break at Posbury Lodge where we have had some real family time together enjoying the hot tub and games room as well as the jigsaws provided. The cottage is chocolate box pretty and has everything you could need and more. I loved sitting outside and watching the sheep whilst I had my first cup of tea in the morning. It was a pleasure to meet Ruth who was kind enough to put our Tesco shop away when it arrived before us, thank you again We would all highly recommend Posbury Lodge.
Fabulous property and location. Owner thought of everything to make your stay really welcoming.
A lovely cottage so clean and tidy with everything needed for a break away. The hot tub and games room an added bonus for the family to enjoy. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this one is 100 better than others we've stayed in. The welcome pack and scones, jam and cream just lovely. Ruth the owner has thought of everything to make it home from home. We are hoping to return next year sometime as we enjoyed it so much.
Pamela
Idyllic holiday cottage. Everything thought of for making our stay there comfortable. Host friendly and welcoming. Wonderful place for children. One of the best cottages we've ever stayed in.
We absolutely loved Posbury Lodge and 100 will be returning again. It was super well equipped and the hosts had thought of everything. There was absolutely nothing wanting. Beautiful cottage, beautiful views and we had an amazing week there. The kids and dogs loved the large enclosed garden and we all made great use of the hot tub. The place is super lovely and really felt like a home away from home. Amazing hosts and an amazing place. Highly recommend this place and we were all sad to leave.
Superb property and spotlessly clean. Lovely welcome basket. Grandsons loved the games room. Ruth is a very thoughtful host. So many five star touches even a brand new nailbrush in the bathroom! The hot tub was appreciated until the sun came out and it was too hot! Then we appreciated the thatch which is actually quite cooling. We all enjoyed watching the hay harvest going on in the neighbouring fields. We wouldn't change a thing.
Excellent, spotlessly clean, everything provided, loads of little extras. Ruth has thought of everything. Even though weather was rubbish for July, we still used the hot tub which was lovely. Aga very easy to use, now wish I had one at home. Best property we have ever stayed in. Thank you Ruth
We had an absolutely fantastic time at this gorgeous cottage. It definitely exceeded expections, it was cosy, comfortable and scrupulously clean. All the facilities at the lodge were excellent, in particular we loved the Aga stove, the games room and the hot tub was most welcome after a long day exploring the surrounding area. From a lovely introductory email to the amazing welcome basket the best weve ever had anywhere, our host Ruth made us feel so welcome. The location was great for getting to all the places we wanted to see. Particular family favourites were Canonteign Falls and Castle Drogo, both well worth a visit. Our family would not hesitate to recommend the lodge to friends and family and we would definitely like to come back.
A superb fourbedroom thatched cottage tastefully decorated in A1 condition. The icing on the cake has to be Ruth, the property owner, who truly goes the extra mile to provide so many extras, way beyond what we have come to expect when renting a property. In one word, exceptional. Highly recommended.

This was probably the best cottage weve stayed in. The cottage was fully equipped and comfortable and gardens were lovely. Everything for a perfect break
We couldn't have asked for more we have stayed in alot a property's but this was definitely at the top ,everything is well organised right down to the rubbish recycling and the Belfast sink outside the door for the boots and dog ,it has all the things you need what ever the weather from great walks out to sitting in the hot tub def 1010 for that, Great cooking facilitys and a nice log burner for the evening, although the arga keeps the house warm . Nice enclosed garden .keep an eye out for barn owl. definitely will be back to visit
Above and beyond stay here, owner Ruth has thought of everything, beautiful cottage, fully equipped with all you need, I needn't have packed as I usually do, Ruth has provided it all. Additional pluses are the pool table and hot tub, a great addition which were well used and enjoyed. A proper chocolate box cottage...just stunning. A very comfortable stay for our family.
Suzanna
We would like to thank Ruth and her family for our stay. The children loved their Christmas stockings, such a lovely thought. The cottage is amazing. Loved the experience of using the Aga! We had a great Christmas, a few great walks with our granddaughter. The birds in the hedges were amazing and the owl! I think in the stables. Everything we needed was provided. The only advice I would give is to get an additional shower head on the bath. As a family of 7 we did struggle a bit with the bathroom.
The cottage was perfect. Well maintained and fitted out with care and attention to all details. Log burner with logs. Especially nice was the Christmas tree and decorations which made our stay more special. Beautiful chocolates and welcome pack left for us. As wet and muddy games room and hot tub were great. Thanks
Claire
Such a beautiful cottage, very warm and cosy. The attention to detail is something to mention. Milk, tea, coffee, freshly homemade scones. Just to name a few. Massive enclosed garden for the dogs to play around in. The hottub was a lovely addition, with freshly washed robes and slippers for each guest. Podsbury cottage is a property I will definitely recommend and will be booking again. Thank you so much to the owner, she has a stunning place.
Wonderful cottage with everything we needed! Lovely location , amazingly peaceful. The hot tub and games room were great additions.
We had a amazing stay at posbury lodge. The owner was extremely nice and polite. The property was very well equipped and kept us entertained for the whole week. Everything was super clean and tidy. Would book again without hesitation 5 1010
The cottage is amazing, looks beautiful from the outside but even better within. Everything you could need is covered. The Aga is a bit of a challenge but once you worked out how to switch food around was ok. Amazing spacious rooms, lovely comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean throughout.Very quiet location. The garden is fully enclosed so your dogs can just run free while you sit in the hot tub watching them and there's also a large field next to the garden to use as well that is brilliant if you have dogs that will run allday. Roads to the property are a bit narrow but with care easy to navigate.
We had a wonderful stay at Posbury Lodge. The owner has thought of every detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and games room.
The property was very clean and comfortable and the owners have thought of every little extra possible. The owner even left us a personalised message which was a lovely extra touch. This is definitely a great place for relaxation and peace
Gaynor
Great stay and brilliant communication from the owner which was very reassuring.
We had a wonderful stay at Posbury Lodge. It was well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The hot tub was a great touch as we all enjoyed spending time in there. The host was lovely, great email communication throughout. The children three girls 4, 6 and 7 really enjoyed the books, in the bedrooms and having the option of watching one of many dvds whilst it was raining. Our little dog Max had a lovely stay, the enclosed garden is a great size. Overall, we couldnt fault it. We will definitely be back.
Elissavet
Amazing property, with a beautiful garden and hot tub. Wifi and mobile phone coverage too unstable to work from home or access the internet, but thats understandable due to countryside location.
Penelope
Posbury Lodge is a delightful property. Both inside and out everything has been thoughtfully considered by Ruth the owner who lives nearby and is very welcoming. We were greeted with a delightful provision of homemade scones, cream and jam, teabags , freshly ground coffee and the most amazing homemade chocolate eggs . As dog owners the garden was a joy as the fencing was completely secure and a really much appreciated touch was the outside Butler sink with hose to wash off the muddy paws . In the garden are well marked store cupboards for logs to purchase with an honesty box and another for the recycling and composting bins. The other lovely feature is a great games room accompanied with a hot tub on a terrace , although we did not use either in our stay , these would no doubt be a great bonus to guests relaxation. The inside layout of the cottage flows well with a lovely large double bedroom and single bedroom downstairs and upstairs an attractive double and twin rooms. There is a public footpath nearby for dog walking from the property. We very much enjoyed our stay here and explorations around the Devon countryside despite the week of rain .
Cottage was perfection, every wish catered for, exceptional eye for detail, and thoughtfulness. Better than the description, a joy .
