Pear Tree Lodge At Talgarth Reviews

Alex
We really enjoyed our stay in a super tidy, modern lodge. The peaceful surroundings with the stream flowing nearby made it even better. The highlight was definitely the wood-fired hot tub! Great for family, friends, kidsand dogs alike. Thanks a bunch!
Emma
We loved the place! The location was spot onand all the little details like the corkscrew and tin opener made it easy. The eco house and nearby areas sounded great too, really well described.
Emma Clarke
We really enjoyed our stay at Pear Tree Lodge. It’s well-equipped for families and dogs, with everything we needed. The shared garden with Apple Tree Lodge isn’t fully secure, so we kept the dog on a lead to prevent him from dashing into the river - he would’ve loved that! The access to the lodge involves a few steps, so not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. Talgarth itself is a lovely little town; we had great brunches at The Mill and tasty dinners at The Bridge Inn, both welcoming to dogs. Overall, a lovely break!
Emma
We loved every minute here
Jamie
We had a really peaceful time staying here. The lodges are beautifully set in such a calm spot, perfect for unwinding. The nearby village has everything we needed, including a handy CO-OP. There are great walks around, but make sure to pack wellies if you're visiting in wetter months because it can get quite muddy. The wood-fired hot tub was a lovely bonus, just keep in mind it takes about 6 hours to heat up, so plan ahead. Overall, a wonderful experience we’d happily recommend!
Emma
This place is super cosy and warm, perfect for two. Very handy for the villageand the manager was really friendly and helpful. Loved our stay!
Emma
We genuinely enjoyed our stay here! The place was spotless and had such a cosy vibe. The host was really helpful and quick to respond whenever we had questions. It’s super peaceful, with zero noise issuesand the view of the greenery right outside is a real bonus. We’d definitely return - great value for money and perfect for a quiet escape from everyday chaos. Honestly, can’t recommend it enough! Would love to stay again soon.
Sarah
We loved the cottage! It was spotless and had all the essentials. The location was ideal for dog walksand the nearby town had plenty of shops and cafes. We even got the hot tub going despite the chilly weather - totally worth it! We’re already planning our return trip in summer. Thanks a lot!
Emma
The lodge was stunning, with a super modern vibe and a kitchen that had everything we needed. Loved the huge glass windows, made the place feel so bright. Being in an orchard was lovely, with apples and pears all around! We also had great walks in the Black Mountains and explored the Nature Reserve nearby. Really enjoyed our stay!
Ben
Super comfy stay in a peaceful, stylish place I’d definitely return to.
Emma
We had a lovely stay here! The place was well equipped and the beds were super comfortable; honestly, we didn’t want to leave. It’s such a tranquil propertyand those sliding doors that open up to nature in the morning are a real gem. The garden was fantastic for our dog; he absolutely loved it :)
Ben
We had a really lovely stay at this cottage in a fantastic location. It was perfect for our needs and just what we were looking for! The surroundings were beautiful and so peaceful, we would definitely come back again.
Lisa
What a lovely spot! It’s in a great location for exploring the Beacons and the Black Mountains. There are some good walks right from Talgarth. The Pear Tree was really well equipped and super comfortable.
James
Positives: Talgarth is lovelyand the bed was super comfy! But... it really wasn't clean enough. We actually left it tidier than we found it. The place looked shabby and definitely needs a repaint. The wood-fired hot tub in the other lodge was not great. I mean, is that really eco-friendly? It blew horrible fumes right through the door and stank out the whole place. We almost left early on Wednesday when our "neighbours" thought their right to soak in warm water was more important than our need for clean air. Absolutely disgusting. We wouldn't stay there again.
Oliver
We had a lovely holiday overall, despite a few issues we encountered. The lodge is absolutely beautifuland the setting is just lovely. However, we do think it's a bit over priced, but that's just our personal opinion!
Emma
We had a great time at Pear Tree Lodge! It's nestled in an orchard by a streamand it was so nice to see all the birdlife around. The beds were super comfyand we had everything we could possibly need. The Lodge felt very private, with no one looking in, which we really appreciated. The village is charmingand the scenery around is simply beautiful. We were there for The Hay Festivaland it was perfect to escape the festival's buzz and chill out in the peace of the Lodge.
Emily
The lodge was really nice, the hot tub was lovely once warmed up, which did take a full day. The beds were comfy and it had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
Hannah
This lodge is absolutely lovely and so cosy, plus it's super quiet and peaceful. The beds are really comfyand the shower is fantastic with its powerful flow. Only a two-minute walk to a cute village, which is perfect! We didn't want to leaveand the lodge manager was great about letting us check out a bit later, which we really appreciated since we wanted to squeeze in one more dip in the hot tub!
Charlotte
A nice property in a lovely Welsh town. Louise was super quick to respond and always answered the phone or messages we sent her in good time. We would visit again!
Helen
What a lovely cottage! The wood-fired hot tub was a real highlight and got used every evening. The cottage is a great sizeand the pull-out sofa bed was perfect for everyone to chill on while watching TV at night. We adored the beautiful garden, plus the full-length windows offered stunning views and let us enjoy watching the wildlife, including squirrels and Red Kites!
