We just got back from a lovely stay at Skirrid View and honestly, it was just what we needed. The pod was super comfy and had everything we could think of. Outside, the loungers, hammockand hot tub made for perfect relaxing afternoons. The owner was a really friendly guy-unfortunately, we didn't meet his wife this time, but maybe next. He also sells some gorgeous plant pots and wooden ornaments, which was a nice surprise. The nearby town is only five minutes awayand the Thursday food market, along with the Saturday and Tuesday markets, is worth checking out. Highly recommend!

The site itself is pretty nice, especially if youâ€™re visiting in the summer. The only downside is the location - no local pub nearby and the closest town is quite a drive. We prefer to leave the car behind once we arrive, which isnâ€™t ideal here. Also, it would be great if there was a proper cooker instead of just a hob and microwave. Still, itâ€™s a lovely place overall, just needs a few tweaks!

This is an excellent place to stay! You get total seclusion while knowing your hosts are there whenever you need assistance. They were so inviting and friendly. Everything, from the quality of workmanship in the buildings and facilities to the cleanliness, is absolutely first-rate. I defy anyone not to feel relaxed in the sec surroundings with fantastic views all around. We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street. Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.
