The Canal Hot Tub Cottage Reviews

Emma
We had a lovely stay in a beautiful area, enjoyed peaceful canal walksand Martin was really helpful throughout. Would definitely recommend it!
Emma
The place was fantastic, super comfyand the location couldn’t be better. Martin was lovely!
Samira
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the canal, which made for lovely evening strolls. The house itself was cosy, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy lounge. Our bedroom was just rightand the bathroom was spacious and practical. Martin was a great host-friendly and helpful throughout. Honestly, some people complain about dogs not being allowed on sofas, but honestly, do they want their sofas covered in fur and fleas? We’d definitely come back!
Harriet
Overall, the cottage was quite charming, but there were a few issues. The shower kept leaking, which resulted in a wet bathroom floorand we weren’t told beforehand that dogs weren’t allowed on the sofa or bed, so Alfie had nowhere comfy to rest. The hot tub water hadn’t been changed in about two weeks, which was a bit off-putting. Also, the windows weren’t very cleanand the dogs behind the cottage were barking loudly at Alfie, making outdoor time tricky. Still, it was a nice stay overall.
Sam
Great stay, spacious living area and comfy beds. The hot tub was a lovely bonus, really made our trip special!
Emma
We loved wandering along the canal, it’s such a peaceful spot. The cottage was cosy and private, especially with the hot tub. We explored Pen y Fan, waterfalls, took a canal cruiseand even tried Zip World - all within easy drives. Definitely coming back!
Emma
We had a great time at the hot tub cottage! It was really cosy and had everything we needed. The secure, enclosed parking was perfect for our dog, who loved exploring outside without us worrying. The views from the front door are stunningand being so close to the canal towpath made for some lovely walks. Two pubs nearby made it even better. Overall, a fantastic base for exploring South Wales, we’d definitely come back!
Emily
We found the place a bit disappointing overall. Not very dog-friendly, with big signs saying 'NO DOGS ON FURNITURE' and 'NO DOGS ON BEDS' which felt a bit harsh. Outside hot tub area wasn’t secureand there was no seating, so we had to bring our own chairs and cable ties. The lighting outside was brokenand half the small plates were chipped. Curtains looked worn outand it could really do with a bigger fridge, freezer, or BBQ. Still, the location was lovelyand the furniture was good quality.
Emma
The cottage was lovelyand the bed was super comfy, everything we needed was provided.

Great location, close to Cardiff and Barry Island!

We loved this charming cottage! The setting beside the canal is breathtakingand it’s super cosy inside with top-notch furnishings. Our dog adored the enclosed yardand the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. Definitely recommend for a relaxing break!

Absolutely loved this place!
James
We had a really lovely stay at the canal hot tub cottage. Martin and his partner were super helpful, giving us great suggestions for places to visit nearby. The walk along the canal right outside was gorgeous-perfect for a leisurely stroll. The cottage itself was cosy and thoughtfully furnished, with everything we needed. Our little cockapoos, who are quite yappy, loved it too, especially with the cool stone floors during the heatwave. Wales blew us away-definitely a place we’d visit again. Highly recommend!
Emily
Lovely place with fantastic facilities, really clean and well designed. The location is brilliant, with great walks for us and our dog. It was also really friendly! We would definitely come back and recommend it to family and friends.
Sophie
We had a lovely, peaceful and relaxing break. Everything was just right for some time away from the hustle and bustle! The atmosphere was calm, which was exactly what we needed to unwind and recharge. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking to escape for a bit.
Jeanette
The cottage is lovely and spacious and comfortable and the hot tub an absolute winner. We enjoyed our stay very much and can highly recommend Hot Tub cottage. Its ideally situated for canal walks and day trips out or just to stay in.
James
We stayed here at the end of September 2021, right by the canal with lovely long walks in both directions. We visited the Star Inn if you turn left and then Goytre Wharf if you turn right. Everything is really well finished, clean and well equipped. The hot tub was great fun! Would definitely recommend.
