Oak Tree Cottage Dunwich Reviews

Sarah
Decent enough, but room for improvement, definitely.
Emma T.
We stayed with my parents and two little ones (3.5yrs and 4 months). Honestly, it felt quite cramped for four adults - pulling out the table to eat made the kitchen pretty much unusable. The beds were really comfy, but the place looked a bit tired and didn’t seem thoroughly cleaned. Luckily, our baby isn’t crawling yet, so no worries there. We had to ask for extra crockeryand there was just one frying pan, so worth keeping in mind. The complex itself was lovely, with friendly staff and good facilities, though!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage. The beds were super comfy and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the beachand having a good on-site shop plus a pub/restaurant was so handy. The holiday park atmosphere added to the fun. Only downpoints-no WiFi in the cottage and the steep stairs on the cliff do need some fitness to manage. Still, we’d definitely come back!
Emma
We had an absolutely lovely stay! The park was spotless and right by the beach, which was a real bonus. The hot tub was a real treat after busy days. Staff were friendly, especially Sheila in the shopand it was clear they really looked after everyone. We’ll definitely come back!
Emily
We loved the location, especially with dogs, since the beach is right nearby - perfect for walks. Staying in Sycamore and Oak cottages suited our group of six adults comfortably. The hot tub was a lovely perk, even if not everyone used it. One thing that could be improved is adding a few more kitchen essentials to make meal prep easier. Overall, a really nice place for a relaxed getaway!

Charming place, perfect spot, loved it!
Emily
We had a lovely stay at Oak Tree Cottage. The place is super cosy and well decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. The hot tub was definitely a highlight-such a treat after a long day. The location is peaceful and perfect for quiet mornings, especially with the deserted beach nearby. Watching the sunrise on a clear morning was just incredible. Honestly, we’d definitely go back. Highly recommend!
Emily
We loved this spot right by the beach! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed, plus those beds were super comfy. The hot tub was a real treat. Definitely coming back. Ohand the Sunday roasts at the on-site restaurant are brill!
Sarah
We had a fantastic stay at this cosy little cottage. It was spotless and very comfortable, with a kitchen that had everything we needed. The no phone signal thing was actually quite relaxing, though it might not suit everyone. The nearby park was perfect for our little oneand the food at the restaurant was lovely. We’ll definitely return!
Jessica
Lovely place, perfect for a getaway!
Emma
Great break, very relaxing, loved the hot tub, would recommend!
Emma
We had a nice stay at the cottage, it was really cosy and perfect for our family of four. The hot tub was a lovely touch, even if it’s limited to 37 degrees, more like a warm bath really. The biggest hassle was the lack of Wi-Fi, made planning tricky without internet. Also, the onsite facilities are quite sparseand the restaurant needs booking in advance. Grocery shopping involved a bit of a drive, which was a bit inconvenient when we wanted to eat out or stock up. Still, we enjoyed our time overall!
Emma
We had a really nice week here, totally relaxing. The cottage had all we neededand the hot tub was perfect after long walks. The restaurant served really good food with plenty of choice. The kids had a blast in the play area and the enclosed football pitch. The beach was just a few minutes walk away, which was brilliant. We also enjoyed some lovely local walks. It was just what we needed for a chilled break!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. The location is perfect for exploring Southwold and Aldeburgh. The hot tub was a highlight, even if we couldn’t turn the heat up. The house had all we needed, though WiFi was pretty much non-existent inside, so be prepared for that. We’d definitely return to this park!
Emma
We found the cottage so charming and cosy, perfect for relaxing. Beds were super comfyand those big fluffy towels were a lovely touch. Loved the hot tub and quiet beach nearby. The restaurant served tasty food with friendly staff. Downstairs bathroom was a bit tricky, but no big deal. We’ll be back for sure!
James
Really cosy and neat place, feels like home. Downside is no wifi or signal, so no streaming on the smart TV sadly! Would stay again though.
Tom
Nice place, but a bit on the cosy side

Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 11 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 17 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 21 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 28 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
