Bank House Barn Reviews

Darren
We had a lovely relaxing stay at Bank House Barn, it really ticked all the boxes for us. We got a bit lost, arriving in the dark probably didnt help, but Sonya was on hand to direct us the last couple of turnings. Thank you for letting us stay at Bank House Barn, we will be definitely book mark this one for a future visit.
We had a lovely stay the property was exceptional and the owners were lovely
Tracey
Absolute little gem. Everything was amazing , lots of little extras that had been thought about. The hot tub made our stay just perfect.
Had a very comfortable stay. Everything we needed, excellent bed, very comfy. The hot tub was great, so we could relax at the end of the day. Lovely host who made us very welcome.
My wife and I had a fantastic few days at Bank House Barn. The property was well planned out and had everything we needed to enjoy some peace and quiet. The Hot tub was a welcome addition and we used it every day, very simple to use and ready to go when we got there. The living area was ample for two people and worked well. The upstairs included a bathroom with everything you would need and the bed was amazing. It was like sleeping on a cloud. Shrewsbury was only 10 minutes away by car and we enjoyed some walks there and in the local fields where we met the owners sheep who really did enjoy Rich Tea biscuits! A perfect spot for a very peaceful break.
We had a two night stay here which was absolutely perfect! Beautiful location and a lovely place to stay! We were kept informed of how to get the key and received texts around this etc, directions and recommendations for place to eat! Would certainly recommend a trip into the town and visit the loopy shrew! It was such a nice break for our anniversary we will definitely be returning for another visit!

A really lovely cosy property. A warm welcome and the little extras such as welcome basket and shower gel & shampoo were a lovely bonus. A great location to visit lots of lovely parts of Shropshire .
We had a lovely stay in the Bank house, it was spacious inside and had all the facilities and amenities that were needed. Friendly hosts and were available if we needed anything and also gave us ideas of what to do around the area. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you Sonia and Chris!
My partner and I booked this get away last minute for my birthday and I must say that it did not disappoint! Sonia and Chris were lovely! The property itself is stunning, Sonia and Chris were really helpful if you need any suggestions on what to dowhere to go. We highly recommend this property if you want to relax.
Would have liked more comfortable outdoor seating
Shelley
I must confess that we were very cautious about staying in a property that is on the owners land as we usually book places right out in the sticks so we are left alone. However, saying that the lovely owners of this property Chris and Sonia welcome you when you arrive and show you quickly around and then you are completely left alone when in your property you could be miles away in the middle of nowhere. Lovely property super cute and quaint with lovely extra touches like toiletries, eggs, cakes and wine upon arrival. Hot tub was wonderful. very big for just two of you but lovely and hot and very very blissful at the end of a long day walking around the Long Mynd. I would say this is definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for some quality time together in a quaint and fabulous location you are extremely close to all sorts of places including Wales Aqueduct in Pontsclliffe was only 40 mins away and well worth the visit. Super thank you Chris and Sonia for a wonderful say. x
Chris and Sonya were so welcoming and offered helpful information and places to go. Nothing was too much trouble. The barn itself was amazing, comfy, cosy and like a home from home. Our stay was so relaxing, we loved seeing the chickens and the hot tub was an added bonus, which we enjoyed both nights. Would highly recommend staying here. Easy check in and out. Will definitely be booking again. Thanks again both
Michael
This property and the owners are amazing. We wanted a quiet getaway to relax and enjoy and we got it. The open fire was great, the bed was so comfy and the surroundings peaceful, the hot tub a great bonus too. The fresh eggs from the chickens were also really nice. We went down into the field to see the teddy bear sheep and they were so friendly and cute. The owners were on hand and very quick to respond if we needed anything. Definitely recommend and we will be returning for another visit.
Holiday accommodation was good but no real outside space parking was not very good no cars shown on photos but owners had three cars. Also owners had three dogs two were lovely but the little sausage dog was quite vicious went for my wife didnt draw blood but left a nasty bruise
What a lovely place to stay, the barn itself is stunning with everything you need at hand, the hot tub was an added bonus we used it every evening. We had intended on having a nice relaxing break and that is exactly what we got. The owners Sonja and Chris are so friendly and welcoming , they went above and beyond to look after us.

What an absolute treat for a Christmas break! Lovely cottage and really friendly and helpful hosts. Loved the eco ethos which suited our own sensibilities. Thank you! Lorna and Lisa.
Isabelle
Lovely hosts and the cottage is in a beautiful location. Everything you could want on a holiday to be relaxing and cosy. Chris and Sonia are only a text away if you need help with anything or recommend places to go. The cottage itself is wellequipped, with everything you need for your stay. Either relax in the hot tub under the stars or sit infront go the fire and watch a film. If you are wanting a quiet getaway this is for you. Walks from the cottage too are a must, especially to see their Teddy Bear sheep! Would love to go back here and explore the area more as there is so much to do. The Christmas decorations and treats on arrival topped it all off! Loved our stay here, thank you!
Jessica
Absolutely lovely, We haven't been away for over 8 years and we were really looking forward to a break. When we arrived, we were shown around the cottage, and given instructions on how to use appliances in the property and the hot tub. The cottage was immaculate. Cozy and quiet. If theres anything you need at all Sonya & Chris are there to help and give out advice on where to go, they recommended the Nags head for an evening meal which again was lovely, we had some playtime with all there friendly dogs & The Teddy bear sheep stole our hearts. The hot tub the evening is such a lovely touch. We will definitely be back again. Jess & Troy
A nice warm welcome and relaxing weekend.
Really welcoming owners, lovely place to stay and great accessibility to local points of interest. It was such a relaxing weekend away!

Lovely, quirky property, friendly owners chris and sonya who were near by to ... Lovely, quirky property, friendly owners chris and sonya who were near by to give you advice on where to go etc and really lovely people , very comfy bed and Egyptian cotton bedding , one thing I would put forward as an idea is a draining utensil for the washing up and a few more kitchen utensils eg Cork screw purchased one left it there and more baking tins , as we would of loved to baked a cake for Chris and sonya as a way to say thank you for our wonderful stay
Had a great time here, hosts were really welcoming and property is so cosy and comfortable had the opportunity to chill and sample the food from the local pub Nags Head Potesbury which would recognise anyone visits should try. Idyllic few days.
Richard
A really enjoyable stay. The property was excellent. It had everything youd need. The welcome from Chris and Sonya was very helpful with the basket of fresh milk, eggs and chocolate treats much appreciated. Visited lots of beautiful places in the Shropshire Hills and surrounding area, including Clun Forest, Bishops Castle, Ludlow, The Clee Hills, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Carding Mill Valley and Stiperstones. Less than 15 minutes from Shrewsbury, I found lots of nice places to eat within a short drive. Id recommend The Walrus and Osteria restaurants in Shrewsbury centre, and The Haughmond in Upton Magna. After a day exploring, the hot tub, situated in a private courtyard, was an amazing evening treat. The owners dogs are very friendly. Dont forget to explore the grounds and go feed the Teddy Bear Sheep their favourite Rich Tea biscuits. Id highly recommend a stay at Bank House Barn.
The most beautiful, romantic & warming weekend away. We couldnt have been happier. I couldnt recommend anywhere else for such a lovely weekend away. Everything was perfected to the finest detail, for example providing us with complimentary fresh milk & bath robes for the jacuzzi. The owners of the property were the most welcoming & caring people, checking up on us during our stay and even providing us with a lift into the town centre & giving us multiple recommendations of what to do during our stay. The location is perfect too. Theres a lovely public bridal path, taking you through fields, for a peaceful walk. While also being only a few miles from Shrewsbury centre.
It was an amazing time we had, the people that owned it were very helpful and very friendly, Fresh eggs on arrival, very clean and the barn had been very well kept. Would recommend this for a weekend away 5 STAR
This was a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It has all the facilities needed to hunker down and enjoy some time together without any stress. The hot tub was great secluded and quiet, making it great to relax. Make sure you remember to take some richtea biscuits when you go for a walk and say hi to the teddybear sheep!
Lovely property and very comfortable for the few days visit. We really enjoyed a relaxing time and loved the location for getting out and exploring. Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful place , first time staying there and ticked all boxes required , such a relaxing environment had a great weekend and we've already booked to go again nothing was to much trouble and was made so welcome would highly recommend if you want a chilled weekend after a long week at work just a fantastic place to unwind
Joanne
Great little place to stay. Chris was very welcoming and helpful. The Barn was comfortable and clean I'd say the only problem we had was that we couldn't pair up netflixDisney to the TV...but that could have been for any number of reasons, certainly isn't a deal breaker or a negative. Would definitely reccomend a stay here..would have liked to have stayed an extra night.
Not what we were expecting at all very disappointed. The pictures were deciving there is no privacy at all. No view and couldn't even open the blinds. We booked this for a romantic getaway but felt like we were staying in somebody else's backyard the owner was pleasant but constantly messaged regarding the lights and electric usage in the property. After reading the reviews we thought we had found the perfect place to it was not to our liking at all.
Lovely property perfect for two. Stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet after a hectic Christmas. The log burner was fab as was the hot tub after a day out walking. Lots of places to visit Addingham Park, Long Mynd and Llangollen. Shrewsbury is nearby and a lovely town to visit best being the Prison a must is the guided tour by an exPrison Officer with lots of info. Loved the Teddy bear sheep and all the dogs. A very enjoyable week. Thankyou Chris always available if needed.
We stayed at Bank House Barn for 3 nights over the New Year and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The property itself is decorated to a very high standard with all of the home from home comforts you could possibly need. The hot tub and the log burner are a touch of luxury and add to the joy of the stay in this lovely accommodation. The huge ensuite bedroom and bathroom are also luxurious and the bed large and very comfortable. The Hosts are lovely, nothing is too much trouble and they are always at hand, discreetly, if needed. The local shops are a very short drive away, as are the local pubs providing lovely food and winedrinks. The drive into Shrewsbury is also easy and is where we spent a very happy New Years Eve shopping & celebrating. Taxi's to and from the accommodation are also easily available. We cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough and hope to return in the Summer.
Cassandra
Such a lovely property and our host was very friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfy and we had great nights sleep every night. The hot tub was massive and so relaxing! It was also in a really central location and easy to explore the local area. We would highly recommend and would gladly stay again.
Really lovely property for a weekend getaway. Hot tub was so relaxing. Chris was so helpful throughout our stay, providing a warm welcome and great recommendations of the area. Will definitely be coming back. S and S.
Matthew
Lovely property and very clean, just a bit weary of getting out of the drive onto the road
Teresa

Richard
We had a lovely week, plenty of places to go and visit from a surprisingly central location. The accommodation was very comfortable and it was nice to know lots of effort had been made to make it ecofriendly. The owner was most helpful and we would recommend it highly. Sylvie and Rich.
