At this time of year October it often tends to be chilly so we loved the warmth inside after a walkaboutWe had plenty of room and loved everything about the property. It was very comfortable. Nice view outside as well. The occasional duck waddling past.
Jacqueline
My husband and I enjoyed our break at beaconsfield , unfortunately I suffer from a back injury and couldnt get comfortable on the settee or armchair which isnt the owners fault. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Joanne
Loved our time at the lodge. Great fishing, nice exercise area for our dog. A nice walk to a lovely pub. Only a couple of criticisms of the lodge would benefit by having a mirrorfull length mirror. Only mirrors were in bathroom and it could do with a clothes airer to dry towels ect. Other than that spot on!!

Such a lovely place as we drove up that drive and then there is all the properties which are beautiful callow lodge was clean and comfortable to stay at, beds are comfortable property was emaculate and all the staff are so helpful and nice the croft restaurant workers are also so nice and polite and make you feel as ease I would recommend this place to everyone so peaceful and relaxing thanks for having us.
Lovely lodge bit of dust and a few cobwebs on arrival. Would suggest some hooks for towels etc on bathroom and bedroom doors, also a bath mat in bath would be good, very slippery almost fell getting out put me off having a bath which spoiled it for me as dislike showers. Well kept grounds. Pity The Croft was closed after Sunday Lunch until Wednesday as was the pub up the road so restricted for eating facilities locally thought would be open as high season. All in all a nice place to chill out.
The lodge appeared brand new, we wondered if we were its first guests! We found it extremely comfortable, very well presented and relaxing. It would have been good to have some coat hooks by the front door and some hooks in the bedroom for robes. Also a full length mirror somewhere wouldve been great. These are very small observations we had a lovely, relaxing holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the meals at The Croft, swimming in the pool and lounging in the hot tub. Some of the information in the welcome pack and at reception was contradictory so we had to keep checking eg opening times of the restaurant, menu choices for Steak Night. But overall a very welcome break for us, in great accommodation.

Lovely, homely, friendly site. Very quiet and peaceful stay. I have recommended this site to my mother and father, they are staying with you in September. I have told them its a must to visit the on site restaurant, a beautiful, luxury meal.
Went back to the same lodge same park we went to in 2020. However felt the lodge had not been maintained well in the year since we had been. On entering the property we found the bedroom door did not shut properly and the handle to the utility room was lose the carpet was starting to fray near the french doors and decking was showing wear and a dining chair leg was loose. We also felt the site was starting to get rather busy with more lodges and mobile homes put up and more planned for next year and this has put us off booking for next year as liked the site when it was quiet and views to lake good. My hubby had a heart condition and we are looking for good views and tranquillity which we got in 2020 but this year it didnt feel quite the same for us
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. However were disappointed that there were cobwebs in the shower, the kitchen floor had not been cleaned with a mop and detergent and both toilet seats did not fit the toilet base. For the price and 5 Star we found this disappointing.

It was lovely. Very peaceful and calm. Would defiantly book to go there again.

Cottage and facilities met expectations of information listed for a luxury lodge, however there were quite a few restrictions on use of facilities. For example, hot tub rules, car access and the cafe was closed, even for takeout snacks other than ice cream. This didn't actually effect our holiday but worth being clear for others. Also the restaurant opening times and checkout times had conflicting information causing some confusion as what is printedadvertised is not what we were verbally told after the fact for the checkout which was the only real negative point of the stay as we felt we were rushed out before the printed time. The welcome prosecco and provided essentials e.g. dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid, shower gel, hairdryer, over and above what was listed were a pleasant surprise and could help if advertised. The Croft restaurant deserves a special mention as this was extremely nice. We ate here on numerous occasions during our stay and enjoyed each and every meal definitely worthwhile visiting but recommend booking.

We really enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the lodge also the spa temp had problems at the start but once mentioned within an hour it was fixed and lively to relax after a kind day out walking. If there is one thing I would change it would be 3 seater settee not a two as we couldnt lay down together. Fantastically run food at the restaurant was very tasty and happy staff . Debbie & Kevin Muttock
Park was beautiful peaceful and very well maintained. Location Idealic but still close to Shrewsbury for facilities. Lodges were to a very high standard. Staff were very welcoming helpful and friendly. Lovely Hot Tub Maintaned on a daily basis. Used most days I stayed. Took my Dog with me and she loved it. Decking around lodge secure for Dog. Small wood around lodges which my dog walked to and secure Exercise Paddock available which I took my dog to in morning and evening for a run around with her ball. Dogs kept on leads in park. Most visitors had dogs. Nice Swimming Pool. Good Fishing Facilities on Private Lakes only available to be used by Park Residents. Lots of Wildlife. Planning to book again.

Exceptionally bad weather however grounds and car parking space were consistently sodden this included water collecting in a quite deep puddle right at the bottom of the entry steps so no far to access the lodge without getting feet wet! Car parking space is shared with an adjacent lodge and can be quite tight especially with an inconsiderate resident neighbour who obviously feels they have more entitlement to be there than we did! The new Croft restaurant one site is lovely however not being dog friendly on a holiday site which is seems to be a bit of an oversight and a missed opportunity. Other than that excellent!
Friendly staff on site and responsive to requests. Very well maintained pretty site. I would visit again
We stayed here for 5 days and everything was exceptional and exactly what was described. The only thing we struggled with was the shower. The control to get hot water was temperamental but the weather was red hot so having a Luke warm shower didn't matter.
Lodge was nice, location was peaceful and staff were friendly. . We were disappointed when we arrived to be given a folder with an extensive list of rules and regulations ,none of which we had previously been made aware off on your website. .Rules included not using the hot tub after dusk, when our visit was in December this seemed very restrictive and visitors being charged parking and having to leave by a certain time, again seemed odd!! Although we enjoyed our visit we would not necessarily return due to all of the needless rules This is an adult only site and we felt that the rules contradicted that.
Very happy over all. Arrived at night couldn't see the cabin as there were no numbers on 15 and unlit. Sofa could have been bigger other than that very happy. Thanks Alex
When we booked the lodge with sykes we were not told we had to leave a 75 good house keeping bond. If we had known this we would have never booked the holiday This should have been bought to our attention prior to booking the holidaywith yourselves We feel that you have not been honest with us and misleading us by not mentioning this prior to booking
Brilliant break away! The only thing I can critize is the lack of signs directing you into the park from the village, there's one sign on a lamppost but it's easy to miss and the postcode we received did not take us to the park. However, after a quick look on Google we managed to find out way there. The park is clean, tidy and well maintained. The lodge was immaculate and the hot tub was already turned on and up heat when we arrived. The staff were really friendly and helpful and advised us on some great stuff to do and see while we stayed. The restaurant is small but after reading some rave reviews it didn't not disappoint the Sunday lunch is beautiful and very reasonably priced. I even managed to squeeze a good day's fishing in on a well stocked lake with plenty of fish caught. This park would not suite all audiences, it is adults only and would not suite certain parties such as henstag weekends as there is not a lot of night life in the village and the park bar is attached to the restaurant. However, for a nice relaxing break to escape and just relax this is the best Park to go!
Beautifully presented lodge wonderful setting views of the lake but not overlooked Very private when in the hot tub Friendly welcome on arrival . Even slippers supplied Would recommend to our friends if they wanted the perfect chilled out break
Beverley
This is a delightful lodge on a quiet, peaceful site. It provides all you need for a wonderful holiday and makes a great base to explore the beautiful Shropshire countryside.
Spent a week at this holiday park from 28th July. Although the lodge was clean and the parks surroundings were lovely there are too many rules and regulations. It is supposed to be an adults only park yet you were treated like a child. Very disappointed to find no WiFi in the lodge and the housekeeping charge of 75 is extortionist. Owners quite abrupt and not very welcoming. The handbook that was given to you where just full of dos and donts and charges for this and that. Would not recommend this site and wont be returning
could be better
The lodge is on a lovely site with very friendly and helpful staff. The lodge was very clean and warm. The beds were very comfortable, there is quite a bit of traffic noise from a near by road. W hat could make the lodge perfect would be a nice comfortable sofa and chairs you can chill out on and watch tv. They were very upright and the sofa very small. Could do with tv in the bedrooms. The hot tub was lovely after a long day of walking, but the decking and steps to lodge very slippy
Angela
Beautiful location, dog friendly and lots of walks to have. Lovely roomy lodge with wonderful hot tub. Good location for access to shopssupermarkets. Would recommend staying there to anyone.
Lionel
THE SITE IS FANTASTIC,EXCELLENT STAFF & THE FISHING IS BRILLIANT,CAUGHT A FISH EVERY CAST. THE SURROUNDING AREA IS FILLED WITH LOTS OF THINGS TO DO,I CAN HIGHLY RECCOMEND,ATTINGHAM MANSION,ONE OF THE BEST NATIONAL TRUST HOUSES WE HAVE VISITED. THE VICTORIAN VILLAGE IN TELFORD IS SUPERB. SHREWSBURY HAS A LARGE MARKET PLUS EVERY SHOP YOU CAN THINK OF. TRIP DOWN THE RIVER IS RECCOMENDED ALSO. ALL IN ALL A GREAT LODGE AND WE WILL BE BACK.THE OWNER OF THE SITE SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR KEEPING IT SO NEAT AND TIDY
Lodge was spotless, bigger than we thought, well equipped and beautifully furnished. Our own hot tub was a real treat.
We liked the lodge and the park was well-kept. Lots to do in and around Shrewsbury.
We had a lovely holiday. Great location and not too far from the shops.
We loved how quiet and peaceful the location was.
The overall quality and detail of the lodge ensured we had a lovely and relaxed time.
What a relaxing week spent in the Callow Lodge, very convenient for the numerous attractions around the area.
such a lovely place
On arrival at the lodge everything so meat and tidy and clean. Fresh flowers and bottle of wine which was nice. Enjoyed our stay ,only downfall was the traffic noise.
We had a very relaxed and an enjoyable holiday in the Callow Lodge, we would certainly come again. The hot tub was a great addition and well used. The overall experience couldn't be faulted and we loved that there were no children around while we were there.
The hot tub on the deck! We made use of this every day. The reception and general staff were very helpful, the site owners were extremely courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave us lots of information about the surrounding areas.
Biggest disappointment ever.
My wife and I are retired professional people and always go away for my birthday in April. The reason we chose Callow lodge was we wanted / needed a stress free break. Upon arrival on site the greeting was very warm and we were handed a list of 15 rules regarding the use of the hot tub. These included showering before use, don't exceed 30 minutes in the tub, don't consume alcohol and don't use after dusk !!! The rules concerning the use of the lodge included wearing a pair of slippers whilst inside ( provided and worth about 50p per pair) and it was suggested you take them home at the end of your stay and be charged ?4 per pair. The towels provided were not matching, of poor quality, not new and again could be taken home and charged for. The crockery was acceptable but the cutlery was disgusting and far from what should be provided in what is described as a luxury lodge. Because I have a mobility problem I normally keep all of my fishing tackle in an expensive trailer directly outside my accommodation. I was told, after paying my deposit ,that it would have to be kept some 100+ yards away so I had to buy another car big enough to hold everything. All in all this turned out to be an extremely stressful break and the lodge fell well short of what we would describe as luxurious. At the end of your stay you are required to strip the bed and put all dirty linen and towels in the hallway. We are in the market to purchase our own lodge but this is one site that won't be included in our short list. Gordon & Jenny Hinchcliffe.....Chesterfield.
The staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. The grounds are well maintained and the holiday park is beautiful and relaxing. We had a fantastic relaxed stay.
It was exactly what we were looking for, tranquillity! Had a very relaxed feel even in the communal parts of the park, the entire experience was wonderful. It was close to a handful of places you could grab a bite to eat. The lodge had a very welcoming feel, modern with a feel of homely comfort. Fab.
An absolutely fantastic place; a beautiful setting with very friendly and helpful staff. The cabin was clean, luxurious, warm and comfortable and it was fantastic to be able to bring our dog with us.
