Leys Retreat is a charming house situated in a private cul-de-sac in Bishops Castle, Shropshire, offering lovely views of the Shropshire Hills. About Leys Retreat

Leys Retreat is a charming house situated in a private cul-de-sac in Bishops Castle, Shropshire, offering lovely views of the Shropshire Hills. With off-road parking, a toasty woodburning stove, and a hot tub this welcoming retreat is perfect for families or friends, and even accommodates two well-behaved pets.

Drive up and park the cars outside this large family home. Upon entering the property, you are greeted by a large, light and airy hallway leading to the kitchen/diner that is well-equipped for all your culinary needs, serve breakfast straight from the hob to enjoy at the breakfast bar, or utilise the double oven to create the ultimate family feast to serve at the dining table set for eight guests.

Adjacent is a utility room that houses a basin and washing machine for your convenience. The ground floor also hosts a spacious sitting room, complete with a woodburning stove and Smart TV, perfect for intimate nights in.

The room is further enhanced by heated tiled flooring and patio doors leading out to the garden, allowing natural light to flood in. A handy cloakroom with a basin and WC completes the ground floor layout.

Ascend the carpeted stairs leading up to the first floor to find four beautifully presented bedrooms. The first is a king-size room boasting a full wardrobe, dual aspect windows and double patio doors leading out to a balcony, where you can enjoy stunning views of the garden and surrounding countryside.

The second king-size room features a wardrobe and is adorned with nice paintings, adding a touch of character. The third king-size room benefits from a double wardrobe and an elegant en-suite, equipped with a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC.

The double shower with a rainfall head and a skylight adds a touch of sophistication. The final bedroom is a neat twin room with ample storage in the form of drawers.

This National Trust site is one of the finest in Wales. The stunning castle was once a medieval fortress and has been remodelled several times over the last 400 years. The Great Hall is home to some amazing collections of paintings as well as sculptures and tapestries. The gardens are world famous with stunning areas of French and Italian style as well as a gorgeous orangery. Children's activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas.

Locally renowned for the Sheep Steeple chasing and daily goat races this is a really unique family attraction that the kids will love.  You can really get hands on with the farm animals with the animal handling sessions and you can have a go at teaching the parrots to talk!  The crazy craft cabin will keep even the most creative entertained with pottery and painting amongst other things. When you are in need of a rest head for the The Hungry Shepherd Tea Room where you can enjoy a bite to eat and children can burn even more energy in the indoor play area.
