Suzanne was a excellent host, always on hand to assist where needed, not that much assistance was required. Family holiday - 4 adults + 1 teenager + 2 dogs We had the most wonderful relaxing holiday at Lower Yeoland Barn. The cottage is in a great location not far from the towns / beaches but also secluded with a real rural feel. The accommodation was clean, spacious and very well equipped for all guest including a large fenced area for your 4 legged fri ends to run free. The owners went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyed by all.

First time for us venturing to Devon with our 3 year old boxer dog and 2 teenage children. We specifically booked this cottage as it was rated as dog friendly which was of high importance along with the location and needing 3 bedrooms. The owner's communications were excellent, the cottage was perfect and the hot tub was a deal clincher for the kid s. Lots of space for us all to move around in and located close to lots of places to visit. Even the weather was excellent!!!
Craig
A lovely comfortable cottage, both the dogs and the kids loved it and we would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone. We visited in the summer but are mighty tempted to go back in the winter to enjoy the log burner. Would not hesitate to visit again. Thank you very much.
Nick
Everything you could want. The cottage is both human and very dog friendly. The dog paddock is wonderful. Ideally located for all North Devon has to offer. And it has so much (including the humungous beach at Saunton Sands). If I could have given 10 stars out of 5 I would have done. Ive already been recommending this property to family and friends!
Lee
The cottage was lovely with ample space inside and out and the paddock was a perfect place for the dogs to run,we made use of the hottub and barbecue which was lovely, the cottage is.set in a beautiful location and Suzanne was very welcoming.would definitely stay there again.
Samantha
This cottage is one of our favourites we've ever stayed in! It's beautiful, clean, gorgeous gardens and hot tub, and was perfect for our dogs! The owners were so friendly. We asked if they had any tupperware we could borrow for a picnic and within the hour there were some left by the front door. They weren't precious about noise which was ideal for us as we were celebrating a birthday while there. They even allowed us to stay an extra night as it was available! Couldn't recommend more!
Susan
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Only issue we had was our old arthritic dog refused to go out to the patio via the house stairs, however this was solved taking him via his lead out the front door to the garden gate. He was happy enough coming back up via the paddock and can manage getting downstairs. This didn't detract from the barn oth erwise being very dog friendly with lots of play space for them and humans alike! The hot tub was a welcome spa to relax after a day of exploring!
Genevieve
We had the best time staying at Lower Yeoland Barn. Fully equipped and beautifully maintained with a country charm but close to all amenities in Barnstable. The hosts Suzanne and Chris were warm and welcoming and always on hand to assist with suggestions and answer any questions we had. So many beautiful beaches and things to do 1 week wasn't enoug h time. We will bar back!!
Martin
Beautiful cottage, really well equipped. Really dog friendly with amazing enclosed garden and attached enclosed field. The dog bed and food bowls saved taking our own. The beds were really comfortable - home away from home. Lovely welcome tray which was very much appreciated. The hot tub was wonderful and used every day. Suzanne and Chris were real ly helpful and friendly - couldnt ask for better hosts. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.
Alan
We have just returned from our weeks stay at Lower Yeoland Barn, and we had a lovely time. The cottage is located within a short drive of Barnstaple and the beaches of Saunton sands, croyde, westward ho! and wollocombe bay. It is in a quiet rural area, and the village of Swimbridge 5 mins away has a decent pub. The enclosed garden and paddock were great for the dogs, plenty of towels and blankets were provided for them. The hot tub great and owners very friendly and helpful. We recommend it here
Michaela
We had a fantastic week here. The barn is beautiful, Suzanne was very accommodating and helpful. Everything you could possibly need was there including all sorts of goodies for a dog. Amazing confortable beds, garden was perfect for the dog, all enclosed and no way of escaping. Hot tub was gorgeous and perfectly placed just outside the back door. W e would definitely recommend The Bell Inn in Chittlehampton for good pub grub. We will definitely be returning. Thanks again to Suzanne.
Ws
Great comfy beds and quick replys to any issues / queries by hosts opposite a real home from home
Lisa
Really nice cottage, second time there owners friendly and welcoming and can't do enough for you. Hot tub is a bonus we will be returning.
John
The cottage is beautiful with plenty of room, while still being cosy. Well equipped kitchen. Hot tub is fabulous. Dog loved garden. Area is stunning with beautiful beaches. Suzanne is very welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back!
Rachel
We keep returning to this place. The location is just so incredibly peaceful and the cottage is superb. I really couldn't suggest anything that needs to be changed or added to make our stays better. Under new ownership but a seamless handover from the old to the new. Thank you to both - just lovely visiting each and every time. Can't wait until the next one when we know a very warm welcome awaits and a very comfy and peaceful cottage stay. x
Sharon
Lovely cottage and location. The hot tub was broken when we arrived and the owners pulled out all the stops to get it fixed and refilled within a good time frame. Great communication from the owners throughout.
Alison
What a beautiful cottage. I went with 5 friends for a birthday weekend. Great communication beforehand and upon arrival a wonderful tasty tray of goodies along with birthday banners up in the kitchen. The birthday girl was thrilled! We had a cozy evening catching up and drinking fast too much!! I would highly recommend for home from home with a hot tub thrown in!!
Jenny
What a wonderful find. Beautifully converted character barn. Perfect place to get away and relax. Fabulous hosts. Has everything you could need and so accommodating for dogs. Love the enclosed hot tub, ideal for a rainy day, or you can fold back the doors and look up to the clear night sky and stars depending on weather. We all loved our stay (4 ad ults, one baby and a dog) and would recommend to all. Well be back.
Gemma
We loved the cottage, stayed for a weekend, 3 nights in total, very good value for money especially considering the amenities like the hot tub and log burner which usually charged a premium for. The place was immaculate, comfortable, enough seating and towels etc for the 6 adults. Very large comfortable beds. Lovely en suite in the master. 3 toilet s, 2 bathrooms. Loved all the dog friendly extras. Beds, towels. Blankets, bowels, treats etc. highly recommend
Samantha
A really lovely holiday cottage. The pictures are very representative; it has a lot of space and really excellent facilities. The enclosed garden was great for the dog and we all enjoyed the hot tub. The owner is nearby if there are any issues (there weren't any). The location is a little bit out of the way, though lots of places to explor nearby a nd good access to the A361, and close to Barnstable. Wonderful beaches about 30 minutes drive. We had a great week and would certainly recommend.
Adrian
Loved the barn, very comfortable, never saw the owners shame theres nowhere for the dogs to run nearby
Julie
Lovely cottage and comfortable. Hot tub great extra. Furniture comfortable and clean. Nice to have dog beds and towels provided. The third bedroom would be better if it either had a double bed or 2 full size single beds as at the moment its more suited to children than adults. Garden reasonable size and dog friendly all enclosed. Parking enough for 3 cars which was good in view of the number of people staying there from different parts of the country.
T
Sam and Steve were great hosts, quick to sort out any issues, friendly and helpful. The neighbour was also friendly and helpful, even gave us eggs from her chickens.
chris
We had a very comfortable enjoyable holiday, in part due to the standard of the accommodation and in part due to the very helpful and informative owners. The double beds in the 2 main bedrooms were amazingly comfortable (can't comment on the 2 singles as we didn't use them) which is not always the case in holiday properties we have found? Of course the spa/hot tub was the icing on the cake and a very enjoyable way to finish off a day spent exploring north Devon.
Andy
The cottage was nice and roomy and was equipped with everything we needed to make it comfortable. The owners always responded very quickly and also fixed a small issue we had in a couple of hours on a Sunday. Fully recommend.
Rachel
A superbly relaxing week away with peace and quiet. Not our first stay here and nor will it be our last. Brilliantly relaxing, comfortable and cosy home from home. Our 2 large dogs really enjoyed themselves and because the entire back garden and patio are so secure we had no worries. The hot tub was much used and appreciated after a long play on th e beach. Sam & Steve really are the best hosts weve ever found. Thank you both so much. Already looking forward to our return x
Karen
Very comfortable cottage and the hot tub was wonderful after a long walk.
Jane
Beautiful cottage, very comfortable beds! Lovely garden on two levels. Hot tub was a huge plus point. Centrally located for lots of local attractions such as Clovelly and beautiful beaches at Saunton Sands ( completely dog friendly ) and Westward Ho ( specific dog friendly areas )
Gary
We had a lovely week at Lower Yeoland Barn. Plenty of space for 6 adults [4 teenagers] and 2 dogs. Owners were very friendly and helpful when we met early in our week, and I have no doubt they would have responded very quickly to any issue we had, if any had arisen. Very good location as a base for visiting North Devon, not so much for the teenager s popping out on a whim, but the hot tub kept them very happy! No hesitation in highly recommending this property- excellent.
Phillipa
Really enjoyed our stay and the cottage was beautiful. Owners were lovely and very helpful.
Rachel
What a place! Absolutely delightful couple who own this property and so relaxed with guests and their 4 legged companions. Were already booked to return twice more this year. I just cant fault anything in any way. The most relaxed and comfortable stay weve had in years. Cant wait to return. Thanks to Sam and Steve - so many property owners could le arn from you guys about how to host well.
Lisa
Lovely hosts and lovely cottage. The hosts left treats for us even the dog which was a lovely idea. The house is big and the hot tub is a added bonus, would definitely book again.
