We had a lovely week at this property, situated in easy reach of Dartmouth and the Devon coast. Plenty of places to eat a short drive away. We chose to eat in a couple of days and the kitchen had all that we needed. The welcome pack was generous and everything was very comfortable and relaxing, the weather was kind enough to allow use of the hot tub every day. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

Great place, lovely and clean with everything needed for a relaxing break. The extra bits put in the property by the owners is a real nice touch. We certainly enjoyed the bottle of wine and strawberries. It was all perfect.

Lovely stay at this little apartment , greeted by the friendly owner Julian and arrived to a little welcome pack of milk, bread, butter , pastries and a nice chilled bottle of Roe wine . Great little place , very clean and very comfortable with a nice hot tub and balcony to eat outside . Huge bathroom with both a great bath and good sized walk in shower ..nice selection of dvds , books and board games available to use .. lots of good walks in the area .. we walked to the Maltsters pub and had a good lunch here .. but our favourite find was the Watermans Arms a bit further up the river .. best meal of the week here , closely followed by Rockfish in Dartmouth . Really enjoyed our stay , thank you . We definitely recommend a stay here if you are looking for a peaceful , quiet , relaxed break .

What a fabulous place to stay. The property has everything we needed and was in such a peaceful location. The hot tub was the cherry on the cake. The owners were lovely and made us feel so welcome. All the little items provided at the start of our holiday were a lovely touch. There is nothing to fault and I really hope we will be back next year. You get used to the narrow roads and they are worth it for the beautiful location of the property. It was a real wrench to leave and we had such a relaxing time. There are a couple of lovely pubs a few minutes drive away situated on Bow Creek another lovely setting. I recommend The Maltsters Arms for great food and service Keith Floyds old pub. The hosts were so helpful with where to go and what to do and we made the most of the advice. Most places less than 20 miles away and little more than 30 minutes drive. We visited Dartmouth, Totnes, Salcombe, Bantham, East Prawlthorpe, Gara Rock and Hope Cove to name a few. Great coastal walks with stunning views. The Round Robin trip was also a great day out with open top bus from Totnes, Steam Train, Ferry, a stop in Dartmouth and a Dart river cruise back to Totnes. Highly recommended it. We had a great Bank Holiday weekend at Higher Gitcombe Lodge. Easy to self checkin, even though we got in quite late. Lovely welcome package that included bread, pastries, juice and wine. A really nice touch. The place itself was as shown. Very clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, every single day! Would definitely stay here again if were in Devon.

We had a wonderful relaxing week here. Everything is as you see in these pictures. Its peaceful and cosy. Just what we needed for our week away. Sunsets and hot tub make this location perfect. Its a place we will be revisiting.

Accomodation is very clean, thoughtfully decorated, quiet and cosy. Just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Host was very helpful, ensured hot tub was ready for use, had every utensil you could need in the kitchen area also lots of cupboard space, lots of space to put thing away in bedroom and very comfotable bed. Thoroughly enjoyed our break and would highly reccomend to anyone considering this as an option for a weekend away.

Excellent facilities for a two person indulgent stay. Very well appointed in all respects. Location good for peace and quiet and visiting the locality though the very narrow lanes raise the stress levels. Lovely accommodation and Julian and Pippa are super hosts. Thank you for the welcome pack left for us in the fridge and the bread and cakes, all much appreciated. Only one suggestion to make. There is nowhere to store food, so a bread bin and a small cupboard over the work top would be very handy. The location although remote makes for a very peaceful and relaxing stay with a great choice of pubs and restaurants close by. Dartmouth is only a short drive away and for shopping there is a supermarket even nearer. We loved our week here so much we are hoping to return next year.

Superb, comfortable holiday home for two people in a quiet rural area with amazing views across the Devon landscape. Don't be put off by the unusual location over a large double garage. This modern, beautifully fitted property really has everything you could wish for including an outside patio deck with hot tub. The owners could not have been more welcoming and the welcome goodies the best we have ever had. This light and airy property certainly lives up to its 5 rating. Highly recommended.

Also we appreciated the various supplies left throughout the apartment. The apartment was to a very high standard with high quality fixtures and fittings.The bathroom was amazing with good attention to detail. The location is good for lots of visits and whilst we knew the property was in a rural location we were not made aware of how narrow the lanes were until we received key collection details were received. Our stay at Higher Gitcombe Lodge was a wonderful experience. The property is very well fitted out and in immaculate condition. The bathroom is so well designed and beautifully warm thanks to underfloor heating. The large bedroom has plenty of storage and is blessed with a large bed that is so comfortable. The excellent living room opens to a large balcony with wonderful views. Totally independent of the family home, the owners are available to give advice. We loved the visit and would recommend a stay at the lodge to anyone wishing to explore the Torquay, Buckfastleigh, Dartmouth and Totnes region.

May i say that the owners of this. Julian and Pippa have done a fabulous job on this property and the local information they supplied was very good. As for contact for any inquires there was somebody always there. Also there supplied a list of local. Eateries and pub, walks. And the local golf course. This helped my wife and i no end.
