Oak Lodge Reviews

Michael
The only problem we found was the shower was difficult to get in and out of, also being a bit older we found it was awkward for us to get in and out of the hot tub it might be a good idea to have a bar to assist. This is not a complaint, but an observation. Thankyou for our stay.
Trevor
Oak lodge was very comfortable to stay in and accomendated 6 people if required. One double room and 2 twin rooms, bathroom and large lounge and spacious kitchen. There were just the 2 of us we went out in the day and came back and made our own dinners. Outside was an area to the side of the cabin to which you could sit out in the evenings for drinks and a fire pit if you wanted. All in all a great time was had,and would recommend this accomodation.

Great lodge just outside Constantine ideal for us as we were cycling The West Kernow Way. No car so we couldnt get out used Moon Bay Chinese take away in Geeek who delivered as well as bringing us beer! Delivery driver couldnt find us told the take away to have the drivers download What 3 Words would have made it much easier. All in all a lovely stopping point. The hot tub was a blessing after 6 hours cycling.

Our first family lodge stay we were apprehensive and didnt know what to expect. .Everything went brilliant
Only one bath towel each for 4 nights , no recycling system for rubbish . Shower only warmish .
I have already booked my fourth visit to this property that to me is like home from home. It is located in such a beautiful area where I feel close to nature. The peace engulfs me and reenergises me every time I stay there.
This was an amazing lodge. We were greeted with scones jam and cream a true taste of Cornwall. These we delicious. There was everything needed to start us off in case we had forgotten anything from a pint of milk in the fridge to tea coffee and a biscuit. There was some dishwasher tablets, up liquid and even a bit of washing powder. The rooms were beautifully set out so clean. The hot tub was a good place to relax. With a table and chairs outside just finished it off to sit and have either breakfast outside or just relax. There is also plenty to do in the area. This has to be the best holiday I have ever had.
I am now booked to return to Oak Lodge a third time. The location provides the tranquil peace I need for a holiday. Everything shouts welcome and comfort. All I need for self catering is provided, it's spotlessly clean and homely and comfortable. I love every minute I spend there and I recharge my batteries fully everything

We absolutely loved this lodge, great secluded area so quiet and lovely, lodge was clean & comfortable everything you possibly needed, arrived to scones, cream & jam was fab! Beds comfortable, hot tub was lovely decking does get slippery so be careful lovely little shop spar just up road Chinese delivery which was tasty! Over al our stay was perfect for me my partner & 2 children they enjoyed it so did we, would definitely be going back and would highly recommend
If you are looking for a peaceful place within easy reach of Falmouth and the surrounding area look no further, I went with my son, daughter in law and three granddaughters aged 20, 11 and 9, my son and the girls raced to get into the hot tub, the lawn was big enough for the two younger ones to practise their acrobatics, the lodge is beautifully furnished, the kitchen is well equipped and includes everything needed for washing up by hand dishwasher tablets, milk is in the fridge and tea & coffee is available plus scones, jam and cream, riding is available nearby. Altogether a wonderful stay nobody wanted to leave.
What a wonderful place. Oak Lodge provided, peace, comfort, a feeling of home from home. Everything to make our stay happy had been thought of. The little touches of welcome meant so much the fire was switched on, scones ready to be warmed up, everything at the ready for use. We will most definitely be back, in fact I can't wait.
Ideal spot, very peaceful. Good location. Excellent facilities. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Friendly and helpful hosts. All you might wish for. would certainly stay here again.
Rebecca
Lovely lodge, fantastic hot tub. Great location. The owners are very lovely. Milk and mince pies on arrival were great.
Stayed here twice now and it's so wonderful. The hottub is so relaxing and the place is so quiet. Well be back next year
Had a lovely time at Oak lodge with our family of 5. Everyone loved the hot tub! The cream tea waiting for us was a lovely touch. Had everything we needed for a wonderful family holiday. Peaceful location. Owner very friendly and responsive. Will be coming back again!
Olivia
Lovely lodge which was a great base for our holiday. Very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Situated in a great spot with some lovely beaches and pubs nearby.
We had a lovely second stay at the lodge. A great base to explore Cornwall. Very peaceful setting and the hot tub is a real treat
Nicola
Excellent property would stay again
Very nice and clean and overall we had a great stay. Only issue was the shower as the pressure was below standard therefore impractical for hair washing. However we had a short stay so it wasnt too much of an issue. Anne was always available to answer questions too
Daniel
It would be useful to have a clothes airer . The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable, would definitely recommend if someone wants a quiet place to vacation
Lovely place to stay! Really enjoyed exploring further into Cornwall. The hot tub was essential on rainy days!
Amazing lodge, extremely clean, and very cosy and well equipped. Perfect base to explore Cornwall with costal paths and beaches only short distances. The owner is very welcoming. Hot tub is a great addition. This was our second stay and it was brilliant. Throughly enjoyed by the grown ups and the kids. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends and would love to return again in the future.
Hannah
Perfect location. Provided tranquility and relaxing atmosphere. Accommodation was comfortable and clean.
Kirsty-marie
Lovely and extremely clean! Would and have recommended to friends to book! Hot tub and cream tea was an additional extra bonus. Not far from our favourite places to visit. Overall lovely little get away for my little family, especially as it was my partners 30th whilst away.
Very nice property, enjoyed our stay muchly. Hot tub was a nice touch in the evening. Well equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms and a nice warm eletric fire for the evenings. Highly recommend.
Robert
Everything was perfect and exceeded expectations, the only thing I can think of ... Everything was perfect and exceeded expectations, the only thing I can think of that could maybe do with improving is the WiFi reception at the property but we got around it
Verity
Oak Lodge is a lovely place to stay secluded and peaceful but still close to some wonderful beaches Maenporth is a MUST. The accommodation was clean and tidy, happily fit our family of six. Beds were made and nicely presented with throws and cushions. Bedrooms are big enough for both younger children and teenagers. Outside the decking is a good size still leaving enough space for the kids to play on the lawn. The hot tub is a great feature we all made use of it. Easy to use function buttons and temperature gauge. There is plenty of banister space around the decking to hang wetsuitstowelscostumes, there is a clothes horse in the lodge as well if needed. I would highly recommend Oak Lodge for a fab holiday. Anne was lovely and texted a couple of times to check everything was ok. She is very helpful and has great local knowledge. She also left a scrumptious cream tea for us on arrival! Such a nice surprise. There was also a teacoffeebiscuit selection and some milk in the fridge. It is obvious that the accommodation and guests are well looked after. This was our second year here and we plan to return in a couple of years. Handy hint supermarkets will deliver so save yourself the trouble and lounge in the hot tub till your shopping arrives!! The only other things that would be helpful are a lamp in the lounge for some subtle lighting and a couple of sun Loungers on the grass.
The lodge was so well equipped, clean and comfortable. Added bonus the cream tea waiting for us. Really enjoyed the hot tub especially in the evenings under the stars watching the bats flying around and hearing the local Barn Owl. The lodge was a great base to explore Cornwall. Falmouth was lovely with the castle, shops and local beaches. We loved exploring Kynance Cove, St Michael's Mount, boat trip at Penzance and we managed to see dolphihs and seals, Perranuthnoe beach, amazing Cornish pasties and cream teas at Pandora Inn, Paradise Park to see the rescued birds. We will be back
Hermione
We enjoyed the hot tub but felt overall that Oak Lodge was poor value for money given the very high rental price. Improvements such as hooks to hang raincoats and a washer dryer would make a big difference there was no where to dry beach towels. The wifi signal was weak and relied on occupants of Willow Lodge not accidentally unplugging the router. Willow Lodge has a two WCs and more space in the living area and would be a better option for groups of 5 or 6.
We had an amazing stay at oak lodge. The lodge is very well equipped with lots of storage space. Quiet, secluded location but a great base to explore Cornwall. We loved the hot tub a real treat! Thank you
Secluded quiet idilic lodge plenty of wildlife and a resident barn owl. A very clan comfortable lodge only down side is a small shower if like me you have a big bum second visit and hope to go again
Richard
There's only to negatives. The hot tub developed a fault so it kept tripping the fuse, the owner did their best to fix it. Unfortunately these things can happen at any time and we accept that. The lodge we stayed in has another lodge very close by, the positioning means the other occupants have to drive past whilst we were in the hot tub. Also from the occupants from the other lodge could see us in our hot tub. The criticism is, this was not made clear in Sykes advertisement . In fact it is portrayed as a lodge on its own, not on a plot with another lodge close by. If we knew thus we would have stayed in the other lodge is that one is far more private. On the whole we had a great time and would use Sykes again, just being more careful in the booking process
We had lovely stay in a superb location and superb accommodation I would ... We had lovely stay in a superb location and superb accommodation I would thoroughly recommend Oaklodge and will definitely book again
Claire
This is an absolutely fantastic let, we are already arranging a date to come back later in the year. Thank you Anne, we had a brilliant time and the cream teas were an added bonus. Claire
The environment was so peaceful and beautiful and the cottage was absolutely lovely. The hot tub was ready and hot for us each day and the owners were in the neighbourhood and so friendly and ready to help with any question we had. The whole stay was bliss just what we needed.
This was mine and my girlfriends first weekend away together since meeting, and it was perfect. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and comfy. An slept comfortably in the evening aswell. Had all the facilities we needed. Would definitely recommend to anyone and also looking to book again ourselves aswell.
Oak lodge was lovely. Very peaceful and well proportioned. Owners were very helpful and made contact prior to arrival with directions etc. The hot tub was outstanding, the best we've had in 20 years of booking lodges with hot tubs!
Lancia
Perfect getaway and so nice to just be away from everything. Nothing quite like being in the hot tub and looking at the stars! Inside was incredibly cozy as well.
