The Retreat Lee Bay Reviews

James
We had a great stay at the cottage! The hot tub was a lovely bonus and the place was spotless and spacious. Perfectly located for Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. The high-end appliances were nice, but the coffee machine was just a filter type-bit of a surprise. No curtains in the lounge either, so privacy at night was a bit of an issue! Still, overall, we enjoyed it.
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The layout suited us perfectlyand it’s beautifully decorated and furnished. The extra treats were a nice touch! The hot tub was a highlight, especially after a day out. The location was just right-peaceful but within walking distance to a charming pub. We did notice the trees, which do offer privacy, but they also block some views. Plus, parts of the garden were quite muddy, so dog footprints were unavoidable. Still, overall, a lovely place to stay!

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, even though it was a bit tucked away and we didn’t know the area well. The place was super well stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was a highlight, though the trees blocking the view were a bit overgrown. Internet TV was a bit tricky to figure out!
Emma
We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. It was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was a real treat and perfect for relaxing after a day out. The only slight downside was the overgrown trees which blocked some afternoon sun and the view, but it didn’t spoil our time. The nearby pub, The Grampus, served great food, though walking back uphill was a bit tiring after a few drinks. Overall, we’d definitely recommend it for a cosy getaway!
Charlotte
Wow, what a lovely stay! The cottage was super cosy and had all the modern comforts we could ask for. The hot tub was a real treat after a day exploring. Lee was such a friendly hostand the nearby beach was perfect for swimming and paddleboarding - we even found a few hidden beaches! Plenty of scenic walks nearby, whether you prefer shady paths or open views. We loved it and can't wait to return!

We chose this place hoping for an enclosed garden, but sadly it’s not. The website photos are quite outdated - the trees are so overgrown now that they block all the sunlight, which was a bit disappointing. The BBQ is completely rusted and unusable, more like a fire pit really. The TV doesn’t work properly unless you have your own streaming accounts, which isn’t ideal. Also, the shower room had mould that really should’ve been cleaned. We ended up tidying the patio ourselves because there were lots of leaves and cobwebs everywhere. Not what we expected, unfortunately.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Thatch. The house was spotless, well-stockedand the bed was super comfy. The hot tub was a lovely bonus after a day out. Perfect spot near Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. Would’ve loved some local restaurant tips in the welcome info, though!

The place itself is really cosy, especially with the hot tub offering sea viewsand the super king bed plus underfloor heating made it super comfy. The walk-in shower is a real treat too. Definitely recommend visiting, just don’t spill the beans-I’d love to come back again!

Really enjoyed our stay here! The bed was super comfy, ensuring a great night's sleep. The owner and housekeeper were so attentive, making us feel really welcome. Would definitely come back, but don’t want it too busy!
Charlotte
We really enjoyed our stay at The Retreat! It’s a cosy, well-equipped place that felt like a home from home, perfect for our dog Mollie too. The location is great for exploring North Devon’s coast and countryside. The hot tub was a real highlightand relaxing on the balcony in the sun was lovely. We’d definitely recommend Miss Feas in Mortehoe for a nice meal out!
