Enjoy a sumptuous stay at this enticing farmhouse set within wooded grounds near Killington in Exmoor. Sleeping six guests, the impressive, three-bedroom haven has a heated, indoor swimming pool, hot tub and gorgeous riverside garden. Welcoming four-legged friends too, it is in an ideal location for anyone who enjoys wildlife rambles. It is also just 2.5 miles away from Trentishoe, where you can pick up the South West Coast Path. Let yourselves into the stone property, leaving your boots in the porch, and amble through to the kitchen/diner. Prepare then call everyone to the table in here or through in the lounge/diner. Afterwards, head into the conservatory or light the wood burner and settle down together in front of the Smart TV in the lounge/diner. Enjoy making the most of your leisure time by swimming in the pool and bubbling in the hot tub. This part of the house is reached through the lounge and has a shower and changing area. There is also a WC downstairs. Wander up to the first floor to find two super-king-size bedrooms, where you can open French doors on to Juliet balconies. There is also a king-size bedroom, with a secret staircase, plus two family bathrooms. Savour the opportunities for outdoor living in the splendid, terraced garden. An idyllic spot to completely unwind and relax in within the tranquility and beauty of the Heddon Valley, The grounds are extensive and beautifully kept and provide space and generous equipment for children to play. Sitting in the area next to the stream was gorgeous - a favourite for us all. This is a great house with beautiful gardens, and the location is amazing. The facilities within the house are excellent, the owners have thought of everything- in a very thoughtful way - if that makes sense - so there is no why is there no salt?? stress! We would truly love to return to the property!

We had a lovely holiday and are already looking again for next year (just a shame the school hols are so expensive - outside our reach!) A beautiful place to stay. Lots of wonderful walks straight from the house. Hunters Inn pub a 3 minute walk from the house, serving fantastic food. National Trust Cafe 2 minutes walk from the house. Great snacks, ice cream, drinks and yummy ice creams for dogs!

A stunning house and gardens in a beautiful location. The house was luxurious and extremely well equipped. We felt very pampered. The hot tub was amazing with robes and slippers for every member of our party. Plenty of space for three generations and loads of activities to keep everyone happy.

The Barton was a fantastic house in which our family of 10 spent a week over Christmas. The rooms were very spacious with lots of added facilities like the hot tub, Kota House, playroom and dog shower. Absolutely ideal for the 3 generation get together. Location was very pretty too. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park  is a big hit with families and has a wonderful setting within 26 acres of Sub Tropical grounds. During a stroll around the site you will encounter so of the worlds most endangered animals and also take a peek back to prehistoric times when Dinosaurs roamed the earth. The park is home to the worlds only full size animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex as well as Lions, Wolves, Sea Lions, Meerkats and many other species, Top attractions include the amazing Sea Lion Shows, Falconry Display and Sea Lion Swims.

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
