Sunbury Barn Reviews

Alison
5 Stars all day long, absolute fabulous place. better than advertised. watching the stars from the hottub was amazing. beds were comfortable and h welcome pack was really good too. Met the hosts upon arrival, they were really helpful and knowledgeable about the area and made us feel at home. we made use of the windbreakers that are at the property and were a god send on the beaches. a real gem of a place if you want piece, quiet and space.
A beautifully peaceful and scenic cottage weve enjoyed so much we have already booked for next year! The owners were so accommodating and friendly. The cottage was incredibly clean and very well equipped. The bonus to the whole place were the two dogs that my children adored, if they werent with the dogs they were playing in the hot tub. We really had the most wonderful time not being far from the beaches and restaurants but able to come back and have some quiet time as a family away from hustle and bustle. Just what we needed. You wont regret booking Sunbury Barn the count down for us is on!
A lovely barn off the beaten track but a great base for days out. The barn had all we needed and the hosts were very helpful if we had a query. Our girls and dog got on terrifically with Daisy & Maisy the owners dogs. We stayed during the hottest week of the year so it was lovely to use the outside space when at the barn. A fantastic location for family or romantic stay, highly recommended.
Charlotte
Beautiful barn in a lovely, secluded location. It was perfect for ourselves and our little girl who loved Daisy the dog who was so gentle and loving with her! Couldn't recommend enough, close to local beaches and amenities, hot tub was amazing and the perfect place to relax after a day out. We will be back next year.
We had a fabulous week here. Its in the middle of nowhere, literally 5 mins down single track roads to get to a village road. Perfect if you want total peace and relaxation, not ideal for those wanting to walk easily to pubs and restaurants. There is a taxi rank however so you can enjoy both. We were very lucky with the weather and made full use of the hot tub which was excellent. Saw some amazing beaches and had a great meal out at The Taphouse. We went out during the day to eat and then came home to relax in the evening as it was so remote. I would recommend and may return next year.
We had a lovely stay at Sunbury Barn. So nice to arrive and find a cream tea, after a long journey this was such a treat. Lovely owners, helpful and friendly. Wonderful location and the barn was everything we wanted and needed. Already rebooked!
Our stay at Sunbury Barn was amazing. It was cosy, warm and in the perfect location for visiting nearby towns and beaches. The barn was clean, and welcoming with a cream tea on arrival. The towels were fresh and soft and the hot tub was a perfect addition. We were looked after during the storm that hit and warned that there maybe a power cut. This was an added touch of kindness and allowed us to ensure we were prepared. Local beaches and pubs were lovely too. We would love to visit again next year. The only tiny, small detail that was slightly disappointing was there were no complimentary toiletries as stated in the description. There was an empty box of dishwasher tablets and no hand soap and only one toilet roll. As we arrived really late at night there was chance to rectify this before we went to bed, so first stop was the coop the next morning. Again this wasn't a problem, just a small suggestion.
Well equipped barn in a beautiful location, we had a lovely restful week and would definitely go back.
We had a wonderful stay and everything was as described. Everything we needed was also provided. The barn was absolutely beautiful, spotless and the hot tub was perfect. The information pack was really helpful and everything was labelled or set out for ease of reference. Only issue we had was the driving in and out, we bottomed out a couple of times on the farm track where our car is low.
Sunbury Barn is a very nice property in a secluded location but within a short drive of St Agnes, Perranporth and Newquay. The garden is very large and great for children and dogs. The owners are onsite and were very helpful and friendly. We used the south access which is a steep and windy driveway. Was a challenge initially but was fine when we got used to it and we were in a large car. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the St Agnes area and if we visit the area again, we would definitely stay at Sunbury Barn.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sunbury barn. The peace and tranquillity of the location were superb and the cottage has excellent facilities. We were lucky enough to book for the first week in September when the weather was superb so it was good to chill out in the hot tub with a glass of wine. The Cornish beaches were not crowded so we explored them every day except one when we went to the Minack Theatre for a performance of Evita a magical experience. The week ended too soon!
Thank you again for a wonderful week! Really comfortable sofas and a really well equipped kitchen, with a beautiful big bathroom! The garden and hot tub was wonderful for both our children and us in the evenings. The children loved the magical willow den almost as much as they loved Daisy and Maisie the doggies!
Corrina
We had the most amazing stay at Sunbury Farm, we enjoyed the hot tub, and loved looking at the horse and sheep! The house was beautiful and very clean. The only thing we would have liked to have known in advance is that the garden wasnt secure or gated to let our dogs roam freely, we kept them on long leads to ensure they didnt wander off for the times we were not all in the garden. But we would highly recommend, the dogs that live there Maisey and Daisy were lovely and so friendly!
Perfect location , enjoyable access road , friendly owners and lovely pets dogs ... Perfect location , enjoyable access road , friendly owners and lovely pets dogs Clean enough but could do with a real good deep clean

We have just spent the most wonderful week at Sunbury Barn. The accommodation and outdoor space are just perfect. Daisy the owners dog is adorable and our child was obsessed with her. The location is perfect for exploring so many nearby beaches, the hot tub was a great treat. The interior of the barn is beautiful. Great views from the living and kitchen areas. Wonderful attention to detail in every room. 2 entrances into the property, just find the 1 that works for you. The owner was always on hand for any queries we had. Thank you for a great stay.

Just got back from what was a lovely family holiday at Sunbury Barn, Beautiful location, very friendly welcoming owners and all in a great central location to explore the most amazing stretch of the Cornish coastline. The barn was clean, wellequipped and very comfortable. Overall highly recommended and we will be back! Thank you.
Lovely setting and very quiet and private.
We had a lovely week at Sunbury Barn. The barn was exactly as described and our welcome package was amazing. We would definitely return in the future. Many thanks.
We are rebooking this property which says everything for us about the property and its offering. It ticks boxes for all areas of a holiday you may require whatever your needs. It gives peace and quiet, space, access to excellent facilities on site for couples, families, dog owners and locally to visit should you wish to join the bustle of the outside world of beaches, towns and tourist attractions. If you are unhappy here..............it's you not the barn and its surroundings.
Rachel
Lovely accommodation. Spotlessly clean, good location, lovely views and hot tub. The dogs visiting us each day was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner.
Graham
A lovely place to stay with beautiful views over unspoilt countryside. Owners were very friendly and helpful. An idyllic place for our holiday and one of the best holiday places that we have stayed at.
Philip
Absolutely love Sunbury Barn. Beautiful cottage, so comfortable. We'll definitely be back!
Matthew
The best place we've stayed and we've been to Cornwall every year for 20 years.
Beautiful barn in a stunning setting. Everything you could need for your stay was available in the barn. and the welcome folder was full of really useful facts and information about the property and the local area. Jim and family who own the property were very welcoming and always on hand if you have any questions. We will be back and will he recommending Sunbury Barn to all our friends and family.
Nicola
We had a fabulous holiday at Sunbury Barn, the accommodation & setting is beautiful & very comfortable. We didn't go out of an evening, instead we had several BBQs & enjoyed the hot tub, it's such a peaceful location, exactly what we were hoping for, the huge garden is amazing. Daisy & Maisy are an absolute delight, not sure which one is which but we spent many an hour throwing the ball for Daisy I think we certainly tired before she did. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked for next year while we were still there. Thank you for a wonderful holiday & hope to meet you next year. Nikki
A fantastic place to stay with warm and welcoming hosts Arrived to find a cream ... A fantastic place to stay with warm and welcoming hosts Arrived to find a cream tea had been provided for us along with some milk What made it enjoyable also was the daily visit from the springer spaniel who just wants you to throw her the ball Will definitely stay again as it is also central to most tourist areas within an hours drive of most Thanks again
Lovely holiday at Sunbury Barn. The barn itself is very clean, modern and stylish with good facilities, in a superb quiet location yet still close to beaches and villages. Nice touch from owners to provide a welcome pack of clotted cream, scones, milk and local apple juice. The living accommodation, being reverse upstairs really works well to take in all the splendid views, fantastic bathroom and hot tub as well as a useful laundry room. The access was a real problem for me, as I have an estate car low to the ground. Not only is the southern access very steep but also very twisty at the start, I felt like Colin McRaerally driver getting up it and the north entrance is strictly for tractors, it's just a track with a lot of overgrowth which is not good for your paintwork. I was lucky that the weather was good as I would not have been able to drive up it in the wet. This did not detract from what was a great holiday, I'm just being honest and stating facts, it is not meant as a criticism. The wifi is also hit and miss, maybe because of the location, which can result in no TV signal as well. I've left the best until last and have to mention the two beautiful dogs Maisy and Daisy mom and daughter, who are the real stars here, so friendly, loving and great fun.
Charlotte
We absolutely loved Sunbury Barn! The Barn itself is stunning, very clean, new and to a high specification. The hot tub was amazing and a real treat. The garden is huge, very tidy and well kept. My 3 year old loved the football goal and climbing frame. My Labrador loved the garden and the owners dogs. They are very friendly. The views and the surrounds are absolutely perfect. Very private, quiet location that is well looked after with the addition of sheep and horses. We loved all the animals. Location is fantastic! The perfect Cornish holiday accommodation for our family, we look forward to returning.
Could not fault a thing! A beautiful setting and only a short drive to multiple beaches. Our daughters aged 4 and 6 loved the outside space and looking at the sheep and horses. They also fell in love with the owners 2 dogs who were so well trained! Overall a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended!

This is the perfect familycouples retreat. Situated a little out of town yet easily walkable or a short drive to local pub, shop, beach etc. The residence is situated in the middle of Cornwall so its pretty much an hour to everywhere. We spent most of our time exploring the local area & all its gorgeous spring time natural beauty. Although some Cornish roads can be busy and, not particularly safe to walk, I downloaded an app windymaps which maps all of the public footpaths making local exploring really easy. The house is finished to a really high standard & comes with everything youll need for a home from home stay. We were travelling with our baby & a high chair, cot & stair gate were readily available. Being slightly away from the coast & benefitting from a patio & huge lawn that gets the sun all day&eve it is the perfect sun trap. Ideal for the book worm, family games or outdoor cooking. On that note local produce & farm shops are really easy to find from this location. We would highly recommend Sunbury Barn to anyone. The stunning & relaxing views from the hot tub, plus the calm & safe family environment made it a wonderful break for us.

We holiday in Cornwall three or four times a year and we both enjoyed our stay at Sunbury Barn. Lovely location, quiet, peaceful yet still close to coast and other local attractions. Nice touch by owners providing a welcome of scones and all the trimmings! Large terrace and well maintained garden to roam about in together with woodland walks to the south. The access drive may put some people off but there is another tarmac lane to the south leading to St AgnesPerranporth. Owners run the smallholdingfarm adjacent and were very pleasant. Would definitely book again.
We absolutely loved our stay at Sunbury Barn. The huge garden and hot tub were perfect for our family. Inside the cottage was super comfortable and the shower in the main bathroom was too good to get out of! The cottage is in a great position so the garden gets the sun all day long and there are so many stunning beaches close by, we were spoilt for choice! We just needed a little better weather for our week away. It was great meeting the owner and his very friendly dogs too. We wish we were still there!
Sunbury Barn is in a beautiful isolated situation. The owners are helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The dogs are lovely and friendly. The property was immaculately clean and well equipped. The quality of the bathroom fixtures and the hot tub is very high. We used this a base to play the top golf courses in Cornwall and to come back to a comfortable cottage with a lovely hot tub was ideal. Highly recommended
Andrew
Lovely place to stay, relaxing, out of the way, great setup and brilliant hot tub. Close to St Agnes for supplies, 20 minute walk to the pub. Owners really helpful and friendly. Easy access to loads of breaches for dog walking. Thank you for a great chilled out week away.
We left message on answer phone about putting beds together and when we got to the property we had to do ourselves. The mess behind the beds dirty socks and had to get vacuum out straight away.Knifes in block with food still on.Access road not suitable for cars other than 4x4 we kept scraping the bottom of our car on concrete that went across lane on a tight corner.Road full of pot holes.
We had the most amazing holiday in this beautiful cottage. Such a pretty setting. The cottage was beautifully decorated and so well equipped. The lady next door was lovely. Our highlight was daisy the dog. We absolutely adored her. Our children loved playing ball with her. So much so they used their holiday money to get her more balls to catch. We will definitely be back. A perfect location too Thanks for having us
Really nice stay, despite storms Dudley and Eunice impacting the week. The barn is very well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting in front of the log burner chilling out whilst the wind blew.
A lovely holiday home, fairly central for most of Cornwall, comfy bed, log burner and really hot hot tub ideal for watching the winter skies from. Challenging approach tracks but doable.
We had the most wonderful stay. Sunbury is a beautifully converted barn owned by a lovely family. Perfect location for my husband to surf and for us to enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. The place was clean, warm, and cosy with an awesome hot tub and log burner! Highly recommend this as a quiet, peaceful base for exploring Cornwall. Also if not keen to explore, this property is enough in itself, there are walks on the owners land through woodland, to a near enough pub with great food. You could happily stay there without driving very far and have a wonderful quiet break. We will be back as soon as possible!
