Beacon House Reviews

Its a great property if travelling as a large group or with several families. Having as many bathrooms meant we had our own spaces. We used the large dining table for many meals and the games room was well used plus we watched the massive TV. The big garden was great for the two dogs and the hot tub, although very hot, was also used a few times. TaRead moreke towels if intend to use the hot tub as not enough were provided although theres a washing machine and take soap for the bathrooms. Hide

We had a lovely holiday at Beacon house. It was clean and tidy and fairly well equipped. My only criticism is the design of the 4 stair gates, which. are a serious trip hazard whilst going up and down the stairs.
Tom
Great house and facilities for our party of 6 couples, ages ranging between mid 50s to early 80s. Well equipped kitchen, though we never stretched it beyond breakfast and takeaways :-) Property very well appointed, and entertainment facilities great- games room (pool/table tennis/ darts/table football), and a MASSIVE TV in the lounge (perfect for tRead morehe Euros!). Parking sufficient even for 6 large cars. Great location just 20 minutes walk to the centre of town. Highly recommended. Hide

A good sized and spacious house that easily handled the eight of us for the week. Plenty of cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils for cooking. The games room was a boon especially with the inclement weather we've just had. The bedrooms were large and comfortable.
Simon
A lovely house with plenty of space which is spread over 4 floors including the basement which has a pool table in. The living room has a very large TV bigger than the one in the pictures which comes with full sky package and Netflix. It is within easy walking distance to Bideford along the River Torridge footpath and there is plenty to do in the aRead morerea. Hot tub was a bonus and the owners were on hand living in the adjoined property and great at resolving an issue we had. Would highly recommend. Hide

Wonderful house, very clean,good location.
Margaret
Our family of 6 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 small children and 1 cockerpoo really enjoyed staying at Beacon House. There were several games of cricket (soft ball and facing away from the greenhouse!) and much laughter. The house is well situated for the Tarka Trail and other walks, as well as the surrounding beaches. However to access the garden you do have to go down through the cellar and watch your head, so we struggled a bit with the pushchair and anyone with mobility issues might have a problem.
Cathryn
Excellent for our weekend, lots of space, plenty to do, very well equipped.
Robert
Not very often you get your expectations exceeded!!, have to say this property is amazing !! no other words really.... would 100% recommend a stay here to anyone. Even the dogs loved it! Thank you so much and really appreciate the late departure yesterday. Brilliant!.
Julia
A beautiful place to stay with family over Christmas So warm and cosy we all has a fabulous time Highly recommend
Katie
This is a great house for a family gathering. The bedrooms are comfortable and good sizes. Having a bathroom per bedroom was a real plus too. The hot tub was ready to use on arrival and a great added bonus - the outdoor lights mean it can be used in the evenings too. Big outdoor space and only a 10 minute walk to a supermarket and not far from town so great location. Advise bringing spare toilet rolls as there is only 1 per bathroom! A lovely place to stay!

I recently stayed at Brecon House Devon. Firstly booking the property off the website was very easy to navigate easy to follow and communication thoughout was 1st class. Payment straight forward too. The property itself was exactly as the website photos showed if not better.. It was very big and full of character an amazing house. Modern but still holding on to its own character.
John
You will not be disappointed with this beautiful, clean and well appointed luxury home. It has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. We always worry will there be this or that at properties we vacation in and this one is worry free. There are only a few places I would recommend and this one is excellent. J. Perry. Stayed, 5 - 12 August 2022.

This house with character comfortably accomodated our family of 8 adults and three children for both sleeping eating and socialising. We loved the games room, garden and hot tub! We also found it a great location for access to all main attractions and handy for shopping.
Joanne
The house was the perfect size for 3 families to share, fully equipped, everything has been well thought out. Cosy sofas for evenings in front of the TV, big garden, games rooms and hot tub to entertain everyone (a pool would have been the icing on the cake) A great location with just a short drive to the beach. We really enjoyed this holiday and i t just didn't seem long enough

Beacon House was perfect for us ,we used it for a 60th birthday in February, 8 adults & 4 children & we all had a lovely weekend, it was very clean, modern and was spot on for all our requirements, also in ideal location close to shops , pubs and short drive to beaches, would definitely use the property again and would recommend
Sue
Our only tiny criticism would be the master bedroom bed. It was very hard and the pillows a little lumpy but it did not deter from our overall satisfaction with the house.
Ros
Recent family holiday at Beacon House. Fabulous place. Spotlessly clean and had everything we needed plus so much more. Hot tub a big hit with all the adults. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.
Lyn
We had a great family stay at Beacon House. The property is very well equipped and is in a good location for exploring North Devon.
Christine
Beacon house is a wonderful property -great location and suits a large family group with ease. Hot tub and games room very much appreciated. Well equipped kitchen - Tassimo coffee machine with full variety of pods, spice rack, condiments, coffee tea and sugar ( these things are good to know as saves hugely on bringing unnecessary items) Bathrooms a ll high spec. The owners extremely helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we all found the beds really uncomfortable which was a shame.
