What an amazing place Anchor House is! We had a fabulous time. The brochure doesn't really show how big it is. Loads of space for 12 of us without being on each other's toes. Superbly equipped. Warm and cosy. TV with Sky - including Sky Sports!!!!!! (massive tick!) 20-25 mins walk into Bideford along a flat/paved path off the road. Loads of parkingRead more. This is a highly recommended property. Pool table could do with a little TLC but that's about the only negative and that's being picky. Hide

I booked with my family of 3 generations and this lovely house was perfect! Comfortable and spacious with everything you could possibly need. Lovely dog walk along the Tarka Trail directly opposite the house and plenty to do in the area. We had a fabulous holiday!
Margaret
Twelve family members had a perfect time at Anchor House. The house is very spacious, with many areas to relax in and lovely comfy beds. The kitchen/diner is the best equipped we have ever had in a holiday home. We enjoyed the decking by the kitchen area, with the bbq hut, hot tub, tables and chairs, plus the gardens. As a family of 10, with ages ranging from 8 to 86, we all had a superb holiday in this spacious and comfortable property with its close situation to the Tarka trail for easy walking and cycling without needing to drive to it. We were 9 adults, plus 2 teenagers and a toddler, age ranges 2 to 82. Plenty of room for all of us, comfortable and extremely well equipped - the enormous kitchen had everything you could think of - two dishwashers, three fridges and 3 freezers and a 14 seater dining table. A great property for generations to stay together. The house was very well equipped and there was plenty of space to accomodate a big group of people.

Anchor House is an amazing property. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The games room and hot tub were well used but a bit too cold for a BBQ. A perfect weekend spent with our children and teenage grandchildren plus two dogs. Would definitely stay here again.
Chris
Amazing property with so much space. Location ideal for exploring Devon.
Eleanor
A great house. The hot tub and bbq hut are really great, especially the bbq hut in the winter. Note that one twin room and a small double are up one staircase and separate from the other first floor bedrooms. They both have an en-suite but the double is small and the twin is a big room so the adults in our group that were in that double felt a littRead morele hard done by, compared to the other double/king rooms. We have a family get together every October to catch up and relax. This was the perfect property for this, loads of space, all the equipment we needed and in a perfect location. We would love to come back.
Jude
A great house for group of 60 somethings having our annual getaway. Good sized accommodation. Kitchen kitted out very well with most things you might need whilst away. Clean and bright. Plenty of hot water, didn't need heating so can't comment. Whilst we didn't use the games room can see it would be a good asset to families. Great being close to TaRead morerka trail to walk in to Bideford or further afield. Management responded quickly when contacted. All in all, would thoroughly recommend. Hide

This is a great house for a family get together. There is plenty of room so we were not under each others feet. It is well equipped for adults and children alike with the children playing in the games room, while the men were cooking in the barbecue lodge and the ladies relaxing in the hot tub. It is an excellent location for cycling and walking al ong the Tarka trail and many beaches nearby. Thank you Neil and Linda for providing an excellent property.
Sue
The house was big enough for everyone to have own space and shared areas had large comfortable settees. Enormous well fitted kitchen with a huge dining table making mealtimes pleasurable for all. Good to have two dishwashers, ample fridges and freezers to cater for large numbers.
Margaret
Amazing, beautiful and large house. The kitchen was huge and great for our large family meals and conservatory with 4 sofas was great for board games on an evening. Games room kept us busy on a wet day. Well equipped, clean and hot tub an added bonus. Highly recommended.

Well equipped house in pretty Devon location allowing 14 people to have a very comfortable holiday. Hot tub, indoor barbecue hut, comfortable bedrooms and communal areas. Loved the Tarka trail. Much enjoyed by us and our guests.

An excellent property for a large family or a gathering of friends. There are 6 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms and additional downstairs toilet. The internal space is comfortable and spacious for a large group including the kitchen dinner.?
Fiona
There was plenty of space for 3 generations. A lovely house in a great location. The owners were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The hamper on arrival was much appreciated.
Linda
This was a great holiday home for our extended family of 14. Great location, VERY spacious, clean and comfortable. Probably the best equipped house we have stayed in. Games room, bbq hut and hot tub were all appreciated. Tesco and Morrison both do click and collect and we had a tasty meal at Belluno in town. Communication was swift and minor proble ms were quickly sorted. People with mobility issues may struggle with some of the large steps down into the kitchen. Highly recommend.
John

We had a lovely week at Anchor House, it was our third visit. The owners are really friendly and helpful. The living rooms are large and spacious and the kitchen dining area is enormous! Whether it is a large family gathering or a meeting of friends (we were the latter), it's a great place to spend a few days....eveni in November!!
Stephanie
You won't regret staying here! We had a fabulous holiday. Worth noting that one twin room and one double are on the opposite side of the house, whereas all other bedrooms are together off main landing.
Robin
Beautiful property, extremely clean (considering dogs are allowed). Plenty of room for our party of ten adults, crawling baby and two dogs. The rear garden is completely enclosed and secure for two extremely active cockerpoos. Good use was made of the hot tub and the BBQ hut was much admired but never used sadly. Huge well equipped kitchen with ple nty of room for two dog crates. We bought our own travel cot for sleeping but made good use of the two travel cots provided as playpens in living area
Heather
Hardly a cottage! A very spacious house with a lovely warm conservatory, two sitting rooms so plenty of room to pursue separate interests and TV programmes. Hot tub and games room very welcome, lovely garden, very safe for the dogs, very well-appointed and equipped kitchen.
Nigel
We have just returned from a fabulous week. The house is huge and the Kitchen was the focal point for us. The BBQ hut is brilliant and the House is well equipped for fun, no matter your age ! Really enjoyed the hot tub and should have used it more. Great to be able to walk into Instow and Bideford. Lunch as the Boathouse is a must. The only negativ e, but dont let it put you off, is the road noise at night if you sleep with the windows open.
Anne
Wonderful property. Beautiful view and lovely stay for families. Highly recommended.
Michael
Great house with everything you need (and more) for a big gathering, we all loved it
Chris
A lovely house in a good location. Several beaches are within easy reach by car or bike. West Coast Cycle path on other side of road. Bideford is a little tired but the people are great. Having said this you do not go to North Devon for the retail experience.
David
Comfortable well equipped and maintained house in lovely setting, Plenty of space inside and out for a house-party. Very enjoyable stay
Julia
Lovely spacious house, great to have the table tennis, pool table, Xbox, hot tub and barbecue hut for the damper days. Great location near to surfing beaches on the sunny days. We had a lovely week here.
