Rhos Y Foel Cottage Reviews

We have just returned from the most relaxing week at Rhos Y Foel cottage. Picked for its secluded location, in the hope to avoid fireworks with our dog, it didnt disappoint. There was nothing about our stay at the cottage that was negative. A great base to go and discover the many local beaches but also comfortable for those days when the weather is not the best. The hot tub was a great touch. Overall a fabulous stay and we will definitely be booking to return in the future.
Fantastic property the whole family enjoyed.
Jeremy
We were really pleased with the cottage and had a real lovely break in North Wales. A positive experience by all.
We have recently returned from a lovely week at Rhos Y Foel cottage. The cottage is very homely and the owners have provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. The dog friendly secure garden was brilliant for our pup, she thoroughly enjoyed herself. The views of the mountains are beautiful and it was lovely watching the owners 2 horses in the field. The hot tub was great and brilliant for stargazing at night. We would highly recommend the property and wouldn't hesitate returning if we come back to the area. Thanks for the lovely hamper of prosecco, biscuits and chocolates.
Carolyn
A beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the country. It was perfect and we have looked to book again next year but its fully booked already!!!!!
We had the loveliest stay. The cottage is perfectly located if you are wanting to travel around the peninsula. The hosts were extremely accommodating and understanding. The house was spotless and lots of little touches. We would definitely visit again. Massive thank you from our family
Loved our stay at Rhos Y Foel. The setting is so peaceful and the cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Our dog loved the secure garden and being able to watch the horses. The location was great within easy drives of lovely beaches and zip world too! Highly recommend, we'd definitely stay again.
Cheryl
The holiday cottage was so lovely. Really well equipped, spotlessly clean and the most beautiful setting. Owners really welcoming and friendly. Couldnt of asked for more.
Jennifer
Lovely friendly welcome as we drove up to the property, with a nice welcome pack of wine and chocolates, tea, coffee and sugar, and an information booklet on the area, and also hot tub info. Very clean, fresh and bright so it was nice to actually just stay in the cottage sometimes with the bifold doors open overlooking the view. Great enclosed space on the patio and lawn for the dog to have a sniff around, and he enjoyed watching the two ponies in the adjoining field. Great place to have as a base in the area.
Lovely place to stay! Lovely owners, Fully enclosed for the dogs, completely private, cottage had everything we needed and more. Will definitely book again!
Absolutely amazing. No complaints in any way.
Nicola
We enjoyed our stay at Rhos y Foel cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean and there was a very nice welcome basket with chocolates and Prosecco and other goodies. Well equipped kitchen. A doormat would have been useful as we had dogs , so we were in and out often, and the weather was wet. The hot tub was lovely and the view across of the mountains with snow was perfect. Thankyou for a wonderful stay. We would love to return soon and would recommend.
Had a lovely break staying at the cottage. The location was beautiful and within short driving distances to all the beautiful beaches nearby. The house was private, well equipped and comfortable. We were able to relax because the garden was fully enclosed for our two dogs which was an important factor for us! The owner was friendly and helpful. Will highly recommend this property to friends thank you
Bridget

Claire
Absolutely stunning cottage, everything you need in there and very spacious. Hot tub and log burner was lovely and cosy for our October half term break. Enclosed garden for our dog. Would highly recommend and we are already wanting to return next year.
Richard
A beautiful holiday cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage was well equipped and spotless throughout. The hot tub was fabulous. We loved our stay.
I booked the cottage for my partners 30th birthday, we also took along our two children. From the moment we arrived we all fell in love with the place, it is absolutely spotless, the area is so quiet and relaxing! It really is a home from home as you have everything you need there in the kitchen and beds are made up ready for you. There is also horses at the back of the cottage which my children loved. We have already been looking to come again! Thank you so much for making our weekend so special. Jess x

Our second stay here and we can't fault it. It's spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and has a totally secure garden for our 2 escape artist dogs! The hot tub is perfect for relaxing in after a day of exploring and there are horses behind the house and views of the mountains. Thank you for another relaxing week, we were sad to leave.
Lovely cottage, very big, in a beautiful quiet location. Very clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly. The welcome package was very much appreciated, prosecco, tea, coffee, biscuits crackers, and milk. There are friendly horses in the field at the back, the horse owners live next door, and pass twice a day. Instructions for the hot tub, and the washer dryer would have helped, but we managed. The bifolding doors and windows are quite heavy, not a negative, just want people to be aware. The cottage is remote, nearest shop we found was in Nefyn. That didn't bother us, as that's what we wanted. Great place as a base to explore, or just to have R&R, which is what we wanted. I would highly recommend.
Excellent place, facilities, locality and hosts.
Lovely cottage with stunning views! We enjoyed our stay. The owners seemed friendly. Easy drive to Pwllheli, Nefyn and surrounding areas. The living roomkitchen was light and spacious, and the garden was secure for the dogs. Cooking utensils were provided, and there was a small undercounter fridge for those wanting to cook at the cottage. The sofas and beds werent the comfiest, but they were okay for a few nights. The bathroom was nice, although the extractor fan was temperamental. The wifi was fast and we never had any issues with it. The book provided is helpful, as it includes information about the cottage, local area, takeaways, etc. We were welcomed with a bottle of prosecco, which was a lovely touch thank you! The hot tub was a great addition, were missing it already! Some instructions on how to use it may be useful, as it took us a while fiddling with the buttons to get the jetslights on. We stayed for 4 nights5 days and found we had to buy a lot of extras ourselves, such as toilet roll we were provided with 2 rolls, kitchen towel, salt & pepper, oil, washing machine pods, bin bags we were only provided with the ones in the bin already, no spares, cling filmtin foil. I would suggest those staying for a longer period to pack these with them. Bring your own towels too, as the ones provided are on the smaller size. The check out intimes arent good. You cant check in until 5pm, and must check out by 9am!! Please bare in mind when booking that you will lose a day either side of your holiday, as on your first day you only get the evening, and the last day you only get a an hour or two in the morning. So, despite us booking MonFri, we only got to enjoy 3 days at the cottage, which we were disappointed with.
Suzanne
Absolutely fabulous bank holiday weekend break in this beautiful cottage. easy check incheck out process, lovely welcome pack from hosts including a nice bottle of prosecco, friendly and helpful hosts, fabulous self catering facilities, amazing views, comfy beds and all round amazing. If staying here would highly recommend a visit to Y Bryncynan pub 6 minutes drive away with amazing food and views make sure you book. Can't wait to book this cottage again.
Rhos Y Foel was perfect for us! The cottage itself was very comfortable and clean. We felt at home straight away. A lovely peaceful place to relax in. a great place to explore the Llyn Peninsular. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be coming back!
Fantastic property well kept and maintained and thank you for making us welcome with the welcome pack champagne etc. The views are amazing from the bi fold doors onto the patio, into the Welsh hills. The welcome pack was great, tea coffee milk and champagne. Hot tub is great and over looking the views, we had a the privilege of seeing some RAF practice jets flying manoeuvres in the distance.
We arrived early but the owner let us go in there was a welcoming pack of tea ... We arrived early but the owner let us go in there was a welcoming pack of tea coffee milk biscuits and also a bottle of champagne loved this cottage and its location had a lovely relaxing Easter weekend celebrating my birthday with my daughter and granddaughter loved the hot tub would recommend this cottage hole heartedly
We had a lovely stay at Rhos y Foel over the weekend. We were welcomed with a little starter pack bread, milk, tea, coffee and champagne. They also kindly let us check in a little earlier which was very convenient. The cottage was spotless, very comfortable sofas and beds. The outdoor area was lovely and private. The hottub was hot when we arrived and was very clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend, and stay again. Thank you
Lovely property with stunning views towards Snowdonia. Secure garden for the dog. Very accessible for people with mobility issues however shower floor in wet room can get very slippy. A hand rail would be useful. Wish we could have stayed the full duration unfortunately our dog got very sick and we had to return home early
Michelle
Had a lovely 5 nights stay and the cottage was perfect. Used the hot tub every night after a full day exploring somewhere different each day. We would definitely love to return again. Thanks Michelle, Amanda and Jess.
Lovely home from home. Everything you need is on hand. Beautiful views, hottub, etc etc. Will be back for a gorth time shortly.
Gareth
Lovely cottage. Great Hot Tub. Secure garden. Good location. No internet Sofa and armchair wornout. No soap No Welcome pack. Not even milk for a brew on arrivalin the morning. No ttowels No Oven glove had to use a shammy from the car No DVD remote No manuals for appliances etc Knives blunt Veg peeler broken Child's bed needs replacing
The property bigger than expected, and was clean enough but felt a bit unloved. It has bags of potential, but there were a few things that would stop us from retuning The bathroom tiles and grout needed a good scrub on the floor. The kitchen was well stocked for utilities, however the toaster leaver was broke? Furnishings were sparse and in a lot of cases broken or well worn. There were things missing I would have expected to find like a hair dryer, a bath mat, an internet router, bin bags, plus the usual foil, oil, salt, pepper etc weve come to expect not to be present due to lockdown. A door mat for the front door and muddy boots, and a door mat at the back for the hot tub would have been useful to stop us treading mud and water in. The front door needs a blind its very exposed to the neighbouring property and parking spaces which impacts privacy. The hot tub was fine, some sand in it but had read previous reviews and expected this. There was some dark black scuffing marks on the tub which didnt look great but didnt impact the usage. I was also a bit surprised one morning when sat in the garden in my pjs and someone just walked through the field into the static van next to the property, I had been under the impression that it was a private location. Besides the niggles with the property, the area was mostly quiet and Nefyn itself was a beautiful place. There are great views from the cottage and a lovely walk via route 41 to Morfa Nefyn over the tops.
Natalie
House was lovely and in a beautiful location. We had to sweep the walls to clear the cobwebs and there was sand in the bottom of the hot tub. We were surprised to find not many essentials left for example one toilet roll and no tea or coffee. Would have been nice to have some more crockery and have the correct password for the WiFi. The shower was fantastic and views were gorgeous.
Caroline
Really enjoyed our stay. All fabulous facilities and only minor comments to improve e.g footmat in the bathroom, tea tray. As we had small dogs they couldnt be fully contained in the garden. Location had amazing views of the Snowdonia mountain range, very peaceful location. Definitely want to stay again.
One of the nicest holiday cottages we have ever stayed in wood burning stove, hot tub with great views of Snowdonia and so much bigger than the photos suggest. Our only niggle is the checkincheckout times and wonder why Sykes don't return to the prepandemic times as other agents have.
9 am is too early on day of departure to tidy up cook breakfast etc 1030 would work better . Also 5 pm on arrival day means your day is almost over
