Minerva House Reviews

George
Location was only a problem when we tried to book a taxi to go to the Meadowsweet restaurant. Luckily weather was good and we walked. Plenty of space for us all
Peter
The property was spotless and had everything necessary for our stay. Beautifully furnished and designed. Lovely location within a short walk to the lovely town of Holt.
Lee
Superb house that easily became our home for a week. Thankyou.
Ian
A great house with everything you need as a family. Very well furnished and equipped, with four good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Well located for all that north Norfolk offers.
Sharon

Sue
House was perfect everything you needed was there. Was so comfortable. Very close to town and places to visit. Loved the hot tub. X 10/10. Hope to come back one day.
Karen
A great house with plenty of room in a fantastic location. We loved the hot tub!
Phil
We had a lovely stay at Minerva House. The house was incredibly well equipped and very well set up for a three generation family visit plus a dog. Its in a great location with a 20min walk into Holt which has lots of lovely shops, pubs and cafes. Its also worth mentioning that Holt Lowes and Nature Reserve is a short walk away and the woods are per fect for dog walking and had an amazing play area and sculpture trial.
Jacqueline
Not a cottage, but a large Georgian house. Lots of useful space downstairs, including a snug and downstairs loo, plus the utility room. Although situated on a large and expanding housing estate, the house is not far from the local town and all the surrounding popular places, such as Blakeney, Salthouse, Cley, Sherringhsm etc. The property is very w ell equipped, with a lovely Kitchen Aid coffee maker, loads of crockery and cutlery, making life simple when preparing food.
Joshua
Fantastic property, brilliant location could not recommend this place enough. Thanks for a great holiday
Michael
Fabulous stay in a beautiful luxury property. Exactly as advertised, syper comfortable and very spacious. Book it and you won't be disappointed.
Judith
A fabulous house in a great location for exploring the beautiful North Norfolk coast. Very clean, comfortable and relaxing. The pod and hot tub are just perfect, especially after a long walk along the many trails that Norfolk has to offer. The short walk in to Holt, cuts through the estate and avoids the main road, so perfect for families and dog w alkers alike.
Yvonne
Lovely house, perfectly situated for walks and within easy reach of the coast too. Very well equipped kitchen with everything you could need. Please note there are only two showers, the bathroom shower is a hand held shower and there is no shower curtain or screen. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs.
Sonia
Beautiful property on a new estate, the kitchen was equipped with everything you could ask for, the whole house was spotless and comfortable, lovely enclosed quiet garden. The house was cosy and warm when we had a couple of cool nights, especially for the older members of the family. The country Park was just across the road from the estate which w as great to walk the dog and it is only a short walk in to the quaint town of Holt. Ideal location to explore from, would recommend.
Lisa
This is a beautiful house a short walk from Holt which has lots of amenities. Very well equipped kitchen. We loved the hot tub and garden pod. Would definitely recommend.
Gillian
Lovely property well equipped and positioned. Easy to walk to the town and woodland trails. Currently next to building site but not intrusive.
Lindsay
A lovely property. Would thoroughly recommend it.
Anna
This is a really lovely, well looked after and well-equipped property. The owners have taken a lot of care to make this house comfortable and a real home from home. They seem to have thought of everything! The one thing missing was hand towels for every guest (the only hand towels provided were for hand washing in the bathrooms), so perhaps bring s ome along if needed. I'd highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to return.
Peter
This is a beautiful property, well equipped, homely and well located to explore the area. We were concerned that is might be a little close to a busy road, but we had no traffic noise inspite of sleeping with windows open, and the position on the esate made it feel very private. We did a reasonable amount of self catering and found it to be very we ll equipped. Very dog friendly with a fully secure back garden and fantastic grassy area next to the property to throw a ball. Highly recommend
Paul
Beautiful spacious modern house with all the facilities that we needed. We loved the hot tub. Location ideal for access to different beaches and places of interest.
David
Beautiful and fantastically well equipped. Hot tub a real bonus. Superb location, in walking distance of lovely Holt centre. Easy access to many places of interest and the cosst.
Jacqui
House was well presented and had everything we needed. Walked into Holt a number of times for food, and were never disappointed. Great base for nearby activities.
Sharon
Fab house and very spacious. Celebrating husband's 60th with the grown up children and one Grandson. Hot tub great and made use of BBQ. Well equipped kitchen. Park right next door, very handy for 18 month old! Good location 15/20 minute walk onto Holt.
Sue
It was all amazing, lovely house extremely well equipped
Sandra
Lovely clean modern house, very well equipped. Exceptionally comfortable beds and very nice hot tub in the secluded garden. Unfortunately the property is on a large working building site and we were woken up by machinery noise at 7.30 every weekday morning. Not restful! Lots to do in the area including National Trust properties, heritage railways a nd boat trips. Holt is within 20 minutes walk and is a delightful town with lovely shops and cafes.
Sally
Absolutely fabulous house everything you could want supplied. Group of 8 celebrating a birthday. 20min walk into town which was fine. Great hot tub which we made great use of. Furnish to a high spec, modern and bright. Would definitely stay again. Nice welcome pack when we arrived. Thank you Minerva House.
Barbara
What a beautiful home. Clean and well equipped. The hot tub was a life saver as we chose the wettest and windiest week to go away. Could not fault it also great for the dog as park area right outside front door
Jo
House was absolutely fabulous, spacious, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, and comfortable. Hot tub was a lovely treat Holt at Christmas time is amazing. Mrs J Olding/Wright
Christine
The location was great and the house was easy to find. The house was well equipped and comfortable, with an excellent supply of crockery and cutlery. The hot tub was a real boon at the end of each day. There was plenty of space for the 8 of us to eat together in the kitchen and to sit altogether in the living room. The snug was handy if any of us w anted a bit of peace and quiet.
Claire
Minerva House is a stunning holiday home away from home. Fabulous location - Holt is a beautiful little town. Would definitely recommend The Folly Tea rooms! Hot tub was great and we used every day. Pretty much a perfect holiday in a beautiful house. All the equipment and mod cons were really luxurious and gratefully used every day. This holiday ho me worked well for 3 generations and was enjoyed by us all. Thank you for letting us stay.
Geoff

Attractions Near Minerva House

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained an Minerva House itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 3 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 4 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 10 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 13 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 19 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 24 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
