The "pod" was fantastic! The facilities were great. Hot tub, Sauna, Barbeque, pizza oven and firepit were delightful. The owners had a container with wood/charcoal for us to buy which made it simple. The owners were absolutely lovely and made use feel welcomed. The area is lovely, close enough to Emmerdale for a lovely walk. There are was a variety of birds, rabbits (potentially a fox), and more. Would definitely go again in the future!

The photo of the lit stair and the fact it had its own sauna, completely sold at that point. This property did not disappoint in any way. The hosts Shenda and Matt were so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. They even left a gift and card for my husbands birthday, we were so touched by that gesture . Perfect peace, the area is very beautiful. I could go on, we will visit again, just what the doctor ordered! Best place weve ever stayed, defy anyone to find better! Shenda and Matt

Emma
When we arrived, the host was very welcoming and came to introduce themselves and run through the instructions of how to use the facilities. The little details went a far way,to the welcome packs, matching dressing gowns and slippers. The cabin was immaculate condition, clean and smelled amazing.I generally left the area feeling relaxed. Hearing the b irds in the morning was also great and seeing wildlife like rabbits, pheasants and birds in our area.
Jake
Amazing stay! All facilities were super and not restricted for money skimping! Area is gorgeous, Matt and Shenda are amazing! A lot of effort gone in to every aspect. No signal or WiFi, not a complaint as it actually allowed more time together but does effect TV watching to DVDs only. Other than that it's perfect, will go again!

Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 15 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 20 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 21 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 26 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
