Blacksmiths Cottage Reviews

Mark
The cottage was beautiful and the hot tub a welcome relief after the walking we did each day, would definitely like to return in the near future
Nigel
Lovely cottage in a superb location for the Moors, local villages and the coast. Enclosed rear garden was great for our dog and we enjoyed the hot tub. The furnishings were comfortable to sit and sleep on so overall, we were very happy.
Stephen
Beautiful homely country cottage Lovely location. Cottage had everything you would need Perfect location for exploring Whitby Scarborough York and surrounding area
Hannah
Cottage is quaint and well decorated but very small with low doorways and steep stairs. Garden is smaller than pictured, looks to have been greatly reduced in size since pics were taken. Otherwise clean, hot tub is lovely, great pub over the road but not sure it was value for money when compared to other cottages we've stayed in.
Kathleen
The garden photo in the advert has little resemblance to the actual garden. It has been reduced in size by almost 50%. The garden furniture is rusty and the barbecue and utensils were dirty. Nowhere in the advert did it say the toilet was downstairs and the stairs are windy. This could be a potential problem. Only one part of the shower worked, the drain was covered in hairs and drainage was very poor. Parking was poor. Our gifts were 2 scones! We were extremely disappointed and felt deceived.
Jayne
Fantastic time worth it xx
Liz
Parking is not the best
Pauline
Beautifully renovated cosy cottage, with superb enclosed garden and added bonus of covered hot tub; just a perfect place to relax and unwind. Good location with the coast and places such as York all within easy reach by car. The hot tub developed a fault during our stay but Sarah, our lovely host (who lives in the adjoining cottage) quickly called an engineer and the pump was soon replaced so we were able to enjoy relaxing in the hot tub during a week of good weather again.
Jack
Thank you so much Sarah and Michael for your hospitality, the cottage was well and truly equipped, was absolutely immaculate, and was extremely clean and spotless when we arrived, and you even made it even more special with our welcome gifts in the fridge and cupboard on arrival. Superb customer service, which deserves 5 stars all round. From Jack, Ian and Archie. @McLarenAndCoHairAndAesthetics #McLarenAndCo
Laura
Lush quaint cottage with everything and more you need including the hot tub which is a bonus!! Very high spec on everything in the cottage.
Valerie
Lovely cottage in a lovely little village , very cosy and peaceful. The hot tub is brilliant and just what you need after a long walk in the countryside.. Towels provided fior the hot tub and shower , so no need to take any towels apart from a hand towel. Lots of walks to do near the cottage and places to visit,
Garry
Great accommodation, everything you need including Wifi & Sky The pub across the road is great, underpriced and do a tremendous Sunday lunch takeout :)
Maria
This is a lovely cottage with a private hottub. We really enjoyed our stay there, it was really nice and quiet and we managed to disconnected from everything and just have the weekend to relax and recharge. The cottage was beautifully decorated and we liked everything about it.
Troy
Ideal location for us,and what we needed at this time.Quiet and stress free. The sun inn opposite was excellent for eating in and take away.if you want to get out and about a car is essential. We enjoyed our stay.
Tim
Lovely quaint cottage in quiet location , local pub a bonus good spot for visiting attractions and walking. All amenities for self catering hopefully owners will provide cooking saucepans should you need them .
Carole
Very lovely cottage and brilliant location. The hot tub is a luxury but based on other cottages we have stayed at, this was the only luxury. Also, we could not see in description any information about the toilet being downstairs. Had we been aware of this, especially with the very steep stairs, we would not have booked. Local pub food is lovely but be aware, very generous portions. Ate there 3 times.
Denise
Perfect comfortable peaceful cottage. Hot tub in private secluded garden
Mike
Lovely cottage in a pretty village. Close to York and Yorkshire coast. Highly recommended
Malcolm
Blacksmith's Cottage and Normanby provided a great base for us to enjoy the fabulous weather, the coast and the countryside of North Yorkshire. The cottage is a brilliant piece of design, with so many facilities and comforts fitted in to such a small space. Even though we only cooked breakfast it was great to have a full compliment of pans and uten sils. Do bear in mind that this is a listed building and as such, due to its age, the doorways are lower than most and the staircase does twist.
David
Lovely cottage, well laid out, snacks left out for our arrival very nice thought,we had a lovely break beautiful area lots of places to visits, enjoyed our stay looking forward to our next visit, host on hand for any issiues ,very plesant and helpful. Great break enjoyed our stay and the cottage, hot tub was a bonus.
Georgia
Fantastic cottage, beautifully decorated and so peaceful and comfy. Pub across the road was fantastic and super friendly. Loved watching and listening to the owls from the hot tub at night and there is so much to do in surrounding areas. Couldnt recommend enough!
Amanda
Very quaint cottage that has been thoughtfully furnished to maximise space and comfort.
Rosemarie
All aspects of the cottage amazing. It suited us and our small dog perfectly. The hot tub is the icing on the cake!
