Blacksmiths Cottage Reviews

James
The hot tub was such a treat after all our daily walksand the cottage itself was really charming. We’d love to come back sometime soon, for sure!
Emma
The cottage really hit the spot, especially with its perfect spot near the Moors and charming villages. Our dog loved the enclosed gardenand we couldn’t get enough of the hot tub. Comfy furniture made relaxing even better. We’d definitely come back!
Emma
The cottage was super cosy and felt just like home. Great spot to explore Whitby, Scarborough, Yorkand beyond. We loved it!
Emily
The cottage is charming and nicely decorated, but it’s quite cosy with low doorways and steep stairs, so not ideal for everyone. The garden was smaller than expected-looks like it’s been trimmed down since the pictures. Overall, it was cleanand the hot tub was a real treat. The pub nearby was great, though maybe not the best value compared to other stays we’ve had.
Emma
Honestly, we were pretty let down. The garden in the photos looked much bigger and nicer online, but it was half the size in real life. The furniture was rusty and the barbecue was dirty, which was a surprise. Also, no mention in the listing about the toilet being downstairs or the windy stairs - could be tricky for some. Only one shower workedand the drain was clogged with hair. Parking was a nightmareand the only welcome gifts were two scones. Quite disappointed, to be honest.
Emma
Really enjoyed the experience, thanks!
Emma
We loved staying in this charming, recently renovated cottage. It’s super cosy and the enclosed garden is perfect for relaxing or letting the dog roam. The hot tub was a real treat, even though it had a little hiccup, Sarah, our host, was fantastic-she called in an engineer straight away and got it sorted quickly. The location is great, with the coast and York just a short drive away. Overall, a lovely spot to unwindand we’d definitely come back!
Oliver
Big thanks to Sarah and Michael for their warm hospitality! The cottage was fantastic-well-stocked, super cleanand spotless when we got there. The little touches like the welcome gifts in the fridge and cupboard really made it special. Excellent service all around, definitely deserving of five stars. We had a lovely stay! Cheers, Oliver, Samand Max.
Emily
The cottage was lovely, super cosy and well-equipped. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day. Everything felt top quality, we loved it!
Emma
We stayed in this charming cottage in a quiet village and loved the cosy feel. The hot tub was a real highlight-perfect after a long day exploring the countryside. Towels for the tub and shower were all provided, so no need to pack extras. Plenty of walking routes nearbyand some lovely spots to visit too. Definitely recommend!
Alex Turner
Really enjoyed our stay, the place had all the essentials like WiFi and Sky. The pub nearby is fantastic, especially for their Sunday roast takeout-highly recommend!

This cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. The private hottub was such a treatand it was so peaceful we could really unwind. The decor was charmingand we loved how quiet it was - just what we needed to relax and recharge. Absolutely loved it!
Sam
Really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect for what we needed-quiet and easygoing. The Sun Inn across the road was great for food, both dine-in and takeaway. Having a car definitely helps if you want to explore more!
Alex
We loved the cosy cottage, perfect for relaxing walks and exploring nearby attractions. The local pub was a real bonus! Just a small heads-up - it'd be great if they provided some cooking saucepans next time.
Emma
The cottage was really charming and in a fantastic spot. The hot tub felt like a proper treat, though honestly, it’s the only luxury we’ve experienced in other places we’ve stayed. One thing to note is the toilet’s downstairs, which wasn’t clear in the description. With those steep stairs, we might’ve thought twice. Local pub food is lovely, just be ready for huge portions - we ate there three times!
Emma
Lovely cosy cottage, peaceful surroundings, hot tub in private garden.
Emily Carter
We had a lovely stay at Blacksmith's Cottage, using it as a base to explore North Yorkshire’s stunning coast and countryside. The cottage’s design is really clever, packing in loads of comforts and facilities despite its cosy size. It was perfect for our breakfast mornings, with all the pans and utensils we needed. Just a heads up, being a listed building, the doorways are lower than usual and the staircase twists a bit, so it’s worth being cautious. Overall, a charming place with character!
Mark
We had a fantastic time at the cottage! The layout was really cosy and well thought out. It was a lovely touch to find snacks waiting for us when we arrived. The area is stunning with plenty of places to explore. The host was friendly and always available if we needed anything. The hot tub was definitely a highlight!
Emma T.
The cottage was lovely-cozy, well-decoratedand so quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub, especially listening to the owls at night. The pub nearby was warm and welcoming. Plenty of local activities too! Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back!
Emma
Really charming place, feels cosy and well-kept, we loved the thoughtful touches here.
