Granary At Mels Cottages Reviews

Muffy
Lovely quiet location and the cottage was really clean. Very close to Pickering which is a lovely little town.
David
The property was not very well cared for, cobwebs in the window recess and over the curtains, dirty marks over the walls of all the rooms, and water marks running down the wall in the main bedroom. The main bedroom was tiny, and the beds very noisy and uncomfortable. Led to 3 restless nights. Broken plant pots in the bathroom. Leisure facilities weRead morere not great, pool was murky and cloudy, not inviting. This was for a 50th birthday and overall was very disappointing. Would not recommend. Hide
Melanie
The accommodation was in a great location for visiting the area and the owners left a lovely welcome pack.
Jane
Unfortunately we cut our stay short due to the cottage itself! the area around the cottage (Granary) is picturesque but the downside is the cottage, very in need of a good clean and some maintenance. The apartment itself is very compact, marks and scuffs on walls, skirting boards not fully attached to the walls and glass table tops that came off thRead moree stands. Bedrooms are small, metal beds that need a good oiling. The swimming pool area again in need of some attention, outside also uninviting. Hide
Pam
Loved the Granary, perfect with our granddaughter. Light and bright with nice views out, being upstairs. Pretty water gardens and a lovely village location. Much to do round about with kids.
Anna
A very pleasant start to self catering having always used hotels before. Very clean. Bottle of wine was a nice touch. I would have liked the spa/pool to be open longer as it was only available when we were out and about. Would recommend.
Janet
A lovely property in a wonderful area. We enjoyed our stay and made full use of the pool and facilities. Highly recommended.
Brian
Had a fantastic time everything was just perfect only wished we could have stayed longer. We definitely be booking again.
Katie

Debra
Property is in a beautiful location and is very clean with very comfortable beds and lovely bedding. We had one or two questions (heating and icy steps) which were dealt with very quickly and in a friendly way, the owners were easy to contact. Lots of crockery, glasses, pans etc. Improvements: A coffee table in the lounge. Pool open earlier so we c ould have a swim before we went out for the day.
Steven
Lovely property with excellent facilities including hot tube and pool. The cottage itself was wonderful with a nice clean and inviting feel to it.
Lyn
We took our two grandchildren for half term, they come home with lots of stories for there parents and asked if we could all go back next year. We all had a fantastic time. The facilities were very good the hot tub was relaxing, fantastic after a walk with the dog. Beautiful sites, excellent accommodation and lovely people. You couldn't ask for mor e!! We will be back. Couldn't recommend it enough.
Gordon
The bed constantly creaked when you moved & the mattress was so uncomfortable, we ended up taking it turns to sleep on the sofa. The shower would not get hot even though we tried to turn it up full. The sauna hot tub and jacuzzi closed at 6pm. Most people like to relax in the evening, after they have been out all-day walking. The only pub or restau rant was closed for two days and only did food on the weekend. Overall it was just a break we needed but just didn't come sold as seen on the website.
Jissy
We had really good time. Its a perfect place for family holiday, its such a scenic place and I am glad we chose Mel's cottages. My son had really good birthday with our close family . All the facilities were perfect including the pool, hottub, sauna. Will definitely go again.
