The Old St Johns Church Reviews

Roger
Just home from a 7 night stay at the old St Johns church. From start to finish we had the best time. The property had everything we could have needed and more. We will be returning in the future.
Susan
Would highly recommend this great family property. Spotlessly clean. Welcoming and homely. Nothing was a bother to the owners.
Andy
Utterly fantastic accommodation. Perfectly equipped to host 4 couples and a toddler. Well-located to visit nearby Filey and Bridlington. Sue has been a delight to deal with throughout the entire process. Highly recommend.
Ian
A most splendid property offering an extremely well appointed holiday let This pre Christmas gathering with our friends was ideal well situated for easy access to attractions such Scarborough. Whitby and Bridlington As well as the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and Moors The hot-tub was a nice addition although really could do to be larger for the size Read moreof property and wasnt maintained during our stay for us not such a problem for us as hot-tub owners Hide
Jan
This is a beautiful property but Unable to access the property until 5 pm and the cleaners were still finishing off as we arrived Ongoing plumbing issues evident from the visitors book . The upstairs toilet was blocked on our arrival with faeces and in general the plumbing upstairs doesnt appear to cope with solid waste Kitchen stools dusty and somRead moree TLC needed overall . This could be a lovely 5* property with some attention to detail The pub next door has unfortunately closed as well Hide
Peter
Three generational family to celebrate a 70th birthday was enjoyed by all. Air hockey machine very much appreciated and although the weather was not great, the size of the property enabled everyone to find their own space when required. All in all, recommended.
John
Bad fly infestation in kitchen area, tvs in bedroom didn't work, no remote for upstairs TV Shower in downstairs room loose where meets wall. Electric gate faulty. Very late check I'm for amount paid. It sounds like a lot of negatives but it's an absolutely lovely place if these problems were addressed it would definitely help the property and would go again
Alice
Absolutely amazing place, really spacious with en-suite on all bedrooms which were big too. Lots of living area space , reclining chairs . Location was good near the coast and shops 15min drive. Kitchen equipment had everything even an air fryer we are now buying one. Slight negative no sun loungers or garden table which wouldve been ideal as it wa s glorious weather. The main table could be bigger as it sits six . The church is well worth a visit we have taken away special memories.
Joanne
Fantastic big house. Plenty of room for the 9 of us. All bedrooms were brilliant with ensuite. Lovely clean hot tub. Only down side was there was no air hockey table as advertised, my son was very disappointed. Unfortunately the pub next door was closed and up for sale. I realise its not the fault of the cottage owners, but it's something to take i nto consideration if your wanting a local pub. All in all a great holiday and would recommend.
Rachael
Lovely house to stay in, house was very spacious with a well equipped kitchen and tastefully decorated, we had 3 generations in our party and there was enough space for us all. Unfortunately most bathrooms were in need of some maintenance and there is only 1 set of keys / gate fobs provided. The towels are very small and there is only 1 hairdryer p rovided in the property. Issues from the visitors book from Nov 22 had still not been resolved, inc. missing air hockey table.
Rowan
A lovely base with a quirky and almost unique history. Not luxury in all aspects (mattresses not all comfortable and towels could be larger) but home is thoughtfully equipped and has all you could need for a lovely break. Location is great and owners have poured a lot of love and care into it, some elements could perhaps just do with fixing / updat ing.
hazel
Lovely place, everything A1, a hidden jewel of North Yorkshire. Would definately return. The Easton Family
Angela

Barry
A very nice big property very well equiped , warm and comfortable. We would definitly stay there again.
Bethany
Overall, the cottage is beautiful. The location was great for us. The hot tub was not turned on meaning we could not use it during our first nights stay and the bins including the bathroom bins, had not been emptied prior to our arrival.
Linda
Absolutely fabulous place! Very clean, & comfy with everything we needed for our stay. We loved that each bedroom had it's own bathroom & the space for us all was perfect. Would recommend for a large group & will definitely stay again
Steven
A large and well equipped holiday home in a small, quiet rural village. The house is next to a pub which was very quiet. There is little to do in the village but most places can be easily reached from here. We toured all the local towns and attractions including the moors with no difficulty. Plenty of space for 10 people and overall a very comforta ble stay. Some minor issues require attention.
Karen
What a beautiful home !!! Well worth staying at this family property.
Janet
With the reservation that the property lacked a garden, it was a great place to stay to explore the Easr Riding of Yorkshire.
Thomas
Very nice comfortable property with plenty of space for our family of 10 plus one dog, very well equipped.
Philip
6 of us stayed here 25 June - 1st July. Excellent house. Extremely comfy with the added bonus of two large lounge areas with large TV's. The kitchen area has everything you will need. The two downstairs bedrooms with walk-in showers are great for anyone with mobility issues. The hot tub is a huge added bonus. The village is very quiet. The pub next door is slightly under-whelming, but not noisy and the house is only a 15 minute drive to Bridlington and Filey. Excellent!!
Karen
Very spacious and well equipped, lovely area
Michael
Beautiful property brilliant location for beaches.
Sylvia

Great renovation of an old Methodist Hall. 5 large bedrooms and lots of space upstairs and downstairs if you want to do different things or watch different channels. Fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed. A very quiet village but only a 5 to 10 minute drive to Hunmanby which has lots of shops and a few eating places. We'll placed for trip s to the coast
