The Barn Reviews

We loved staying here. Property was clean and spacious, great location on the farm. The owner was really helpful and every day enjoyed our feedback after visiting various locations. His knowledge was invaluable. Look forward to visit Yorkshire again soon.
Rajesh
Cliff is a lovely gent with great knowledge of the area which came very handy. The cottage is beaut8 equipped and well located to explore the local area Approximately an hour to Whitby, Richmond and York. The hot tub was an essential part of the booking for us as we knew it would be a welcome end to a days exploring. It is a working farm, so expect a little smell at times but go and say hello to the llamas, horses and goats! Great location, lovely cottage.
Lovely location and ideal for touring around Yorkshire. Lovely comfortable cottage and very friendly and helpful owners. Welcome hamper was a nice treat as well. Northallerton is very close by with some loverly shops to visit. Can recommend Bianco restaurant and White Rock Fish& Chips.
Clifford was a very generous and helpful host. Lovely bright and airy property in a beautiful quiet location. Ideal base for getting around North Yorkshire. Very comfortable accommodation with ideal facilities for a very relaxing break..

Lovely cottage, clean with all the home comforts. Ideal location to explore Yorkshire. Cliff, the host is friendly and full of information about the area and where to visit. Loved the farm with its animals, and wildlife, Fantastic views over the countryside from the cottage. The hot tub is also an added bonus.
Cleveland
A lovely , clean cottage, There was a generous welcome pack and Clifford was a mine of local information, he told us about many places we could visit. The hot tub was a bonus and we used it most days after sightseeing. We would definitely recommend The Barn.
The best cottage we have stayed in for a long time. Beautiful location, very clean and comfortable and the hot tub is a fantastic extra. Everything you need is provided right down to the Welcome Pack which exceeded any expectations and is a kind gesture which we really appreciated. The owner Cliff is warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the local area and provides suggestions of the best places to visit during your stay. We are already booking our next visit to the Barn and cant wait to return. Thank you Cliff for a wonderful relaxing break.
Carolyn
Lovely few days away, we were blown away with the barn and hot tub. Large inside, very warm with under floor heating. Beds comfy. Very chilled thank you!
The property was well presented, clean and had everything we needed for our stay, including an excellent hot tub. The owner provided a welcome pack which was unexpected but very much appreciated. The owner also went the extra mile and gave us fireworks to let off on New Years Eve.
Lorraine
Amazingly relaxing week away in a lovely part of the country. Cliff gave us plenty of ideas for day trips and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was spotless, well equipped and very comfy. The hot tub was a welcome treat every evening.
Had a wonderful stay at the Barn. From the excellent welcome pack, to the wonderful property, we were extremely happy with our choice of holiday home. Lots of lovely places to visit and some great days out had. Some of our friends have seen our pictures and seem keen to visit too!

We had an excellent stay at the Barn, where everything made our week very enjoyable. Cliff the host was very welcoming and helpful, suggesting activities and destinations. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, pleasant, quiet and very well equipped. The hot tub was a bonus coming back after hot days out. The Barn is very well located for lots of places to visit and walks to enjoy many more than we could fit into a week! Many thanks to Cliff and his family and helpers who made this a very enjoyable holiday.
We cannot recommend The Barn highly enough. Wonderful location just outside Northallerton but with a rural outlook and countryside views. Comfortable and well appointed accommodation and excellent facilities including hot tub and entertainment for the kids football goal, table football, air hockey etc And so many things to do in the local area. The Barn offered everything we were looking for for a fantastic family holiday!
The Barn has everything you need for a break away from home. It is clean & comfortable. The hot tub is definitely an added bonus, it was huge! There is a lovely welcome pack waiting for you when you arrive. Cliff is very friendly welcoming & has great advice for things to do in the area. He couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely recommend it to friends.
Thank you Cliff, Maxwell and co for a wonderful stay. We were given a warm and generous welcome. The Barn was incredibly well equipped. Pleasantly surprised how much was included in the barn, even things like dishwasher tablets and toilet roll. Lovely and clean. The hot tub felt great after a day walking about. My 9 year old could have spent all day looking at the farm animals, and petting Maxwell. Highlight of her trip! We did double check a baby goat hadn't been stashed in the car before leaving!!. Really handy location, only couple of minutes into Northallerton and the railway station. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others to visit. Thanks again!
Recently had a fantastic stay at The Barn. The accommodation was excellent and very peaceful surroundings. Cliff the owner was very informative and gave us details of local walks to do in the surrounding area including Highparadise and Richmond which we enjoyed then returning back to the Barn and relaxing in the Hot Tub in the evening was a bonus. The Barn is close to Northallerton for all your needs and its within easy reach of Whitby and the North Yorkshire Railway should you fancy a trip on a Steam train and Goathland was worth a visit if only just to see the station and where Heartbeat filmed as Aidensfield. Depending on time of year RSPB Bempton Cliffs is worth a visit to see breeding Puffins and beautiful Gannets. The welcome hamper went down a treat and we would have no hesitation in recommending The Barn to friends and family as a great place to stay. Thank you x
The barn was really clean, comfortable, well furnished and private. Had a lovely holiday.

A beautiful, peaceful week. The Barn is a welcoming, cosy place with wonderful views over open countryside . There was lots of information on visitor attractions in the area and after a days sightseeing there was nothing better than relaxing in the spacious hot tub. A fantastic week was had by all, thanks.

The Barn was the perfect place to explore Yorkshire. It was in a central location to be able to access the Dales and the Moors. The Barn itself was perfect for our family of 4. We were given a fabulous welcome from the owner who shared ideas for days out and places to eat. There was also a welcome hamper which was very appreciated. The property had everything you needed with a spacious living area and clean and comfortable bedrooms. There was the added luxury of having a hot tub and a range of games including table football and croquet. The hot tub was easy to work and had bluetooth speakers and it was covered so could be enjoyed even in the rain. The kitchen was compact but had all the utensils you needed. Wereally couldn't fault our stay and would recommend to others.
Damian
Our family of four had a terrific stay in The Barn. The property was spotlessly clean, and was an excellent base for exploring North Yorkshire. The hot tub was a brilliant way to relax after a day out, while our children had great fun with the table top football. We hope to return!
This is a fabulous place to stay. There is everything you need and it is very well furnished with some lovely touches and warm, comfortable and cosy. Some lovely views and a very ample hot tub to relax in. It is within walking distance of Northallerton and all it offers. Highly recommended!
Lindsay
Wonderful property. Great location to explore North Yorkshire. So many things to do and see. Property owner super friendly and helpful.
Great accommodation. Owner thought of everything. Really comfortable furnishings and bed. Nice quirky decorations. Lovely welcome hamper. Great to watch the birds or evening sky from the hot tub. Lots of outdoor games provided, Cliff was a good amicable host.
Lauchlan
Lovely cottage, central to many places of interest. Cottage was beautiful, clean and comfortable with great facilities. Hot tub was terrific after a day sightseeing. Cliff is a very welcoming and helpful host. A great source of knowledge about the area too. Highly recommended. We had a great stay.
Patricia
Clifford Pearson greeted us on arrival with a warm and friendly welcome. The Barn was very clean and comfortable and well appointed. The views starting at the front door were stunning, including the sunsets. There is a good space for car parking right by the property. One tiny thing to mention is that the freezer is small and the French Windows stick so we left them closed rather than force them open. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay and recommend the property. Maxwell the dog is a beautiful, quiet and disciplined dog, his occasional visits for a bit of fuss were unobtrusive and brief but welcome .
The description of the property and the pictures does not do the property justice, The Barn is lovely, spacious and open and very comfortable. Cliff was a great host and really helpful in advising us of places to go, the hot tub was wonderful. We would definetly be booking here again.
Antonio
We enjoyed our stay at The Barn very much. Cliff was very friendly & helpful & even gave me an old phone of his when I accidentally forgot mine was in my pocket when I went into the hot tub. Apart from that mishap, it was a great week.
The property and facilities were generally very good. The property could do with a small amount of general maintenance to correct things like a bedroom door that doesnt stay shut and a loose toilet seat. Hot tub very nice. The biggest downside for us was the fact that on Monday morning at 6am work started to take the chickens away for slaughter. Lots of noise and then an appalling smell as the sheds are cleared out. No mention in the listing of how close the barn and other properties are to the chicken sheds! Less than 100m. That spoilt the stay as we couldnt stay outside because of the smell.

We had a fabulous week at The Barn . Accommodation was perfect and just as described. Lovely location and very peaceful . Only a short walk into town with shops , pubs amenities etc . Cliff was a great host based on the farm and guided us to some great places . Will we definitely return and recommend . Yorkshire is beautiful.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, very comfortable cottage . Lovely and quiet ! Very helpful owner .
Amazing barn very comfortable and spotless. It really did have the wow factor
The barn was lovely. It was equipped with everything we could have needed, was in a lovely location and really comfortable. Cliff also left a very generous welcome basket. We especially enjoyed the big LEDlit floating bed, the fabulous hottub, the heated floor and, the best part by far was the visit to see barn ful of newly hatched chicks. It was the highlight of the stay for the kids.
Angela
The Barn is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. It has everything you need with a well equipped kitchen. It was like home from home. The bed is soooooo comfy. Probably the most comfiest bed we have ever slept in with the added bonus of waking up to a lovely view. The downstairs underfloor heating was just heavenly, just what you need coming in from the hot tub and cold. Cliff the host was amazing just couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was the best it could be, even cutting short his Christmas dinner to sort out the hot tub. Being a big lover of all animals, I enjoyed popping round to the shed to see the goats and Rheas, and fussing Maxwell, Cliffs dog . The hot tub just put the icing on the cake it in a great setting with views over the field...what more can you ask for? Overall we had a great stay and will definitely be back for another visit..
Jessica
We had an excellent stay at the barn. Cliff is a fabulous host who went the extra mile to make my birthday trip really special. Would definitely stay again and would recommend
Absolutely lovely cottage, home away from home, very comfortable, with everything and more that you could need. The hot tub is amazing after a day of exploring. Cliff the owner is extraordinarily helpful, with lots of ideas on exploring the area. My teenage children loved the farm environment, especially the animals.
