Equipped with your own picnic table and charcoal BBQ, a shared outdoor patio area can also be found immediately outside, beautifully styled with pastel colours and original stone exterior, perfect for friends and family to see in the evening with a bottle of wine. Dog walks are a pleasure with country paths beginning at your front door, and the outdoor play area is ideal for entertaining young minds while you gather your beach gear. The village of Berrynarbor has local conveniences less than a mile away. For a charming 17th-century pub the village of Combe Martin is a little further away at 3 miles, but makes a perfect stop on the way to the Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (5 miles). The barn, located on the outskirts of the village of Berrynarbor is one of two properties on the farm, which can be rented together to create a larger eight-bedroom property. The pictures dont SunAlways justice. The cottage is everything you could need. The surrounding grounds were perfect for kids & dogs alike. The pool was super clean and well maintained and the games room a brilliant bonus on the rainy days. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need, the welcome bottle of wine was a lovely touch & the grounds man (Barry) was really helpful and welcoming. Smythen Farm is beautiful! It is well located within easy reach of the gorgeous beaches & theres lots to do nearby. After a busy days activities, there is plenty to keep the children occupied on site. The facilities are amazing. There is a games room with table tennis, table football, pool and air hockey. Everything is in good working order. There is also a well maintained, safe outdoor play area. The icing on the cake is the large swimming pool and sauna. Perfect family holiday!

Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park  is a big hit with families and has a wonderful setting within 26 acres of Sub Tropical grounds. During a stroll around the site you will encounter so of the worlds most endangered animals and also take a peek back to prehistoric times when Dinosaurs roamed the earth. The park is home to the worlds only full size animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex as well as Lions, Wolves, Sea Lions, Meerkats and many other species, Top attractions include the amazing Sea Lion Shows, Falconry Display and Sea Lion Swims.

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
