The brochure description is slightly misleading in saying that there is direct access to the dunes, but they are in easy walking distance. The house is well equipped and was comfortable for the 5 of us staying there.

The ferry to Appledore is a must (check times as reliant on tides), with excellent crabbing and then the bus back. The local delicatessens John's o f Instow has so many lovely things to eat! And we had a lovely family meal at The Boatyard on the front whilst watching the tide come in and sun set.

This house has everything you could wish for, its furnished to the highest of standards. There was 10 of us plus 2 dogs at our stay at tides, and the house never felt full. Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families. There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings. Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast". There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga. As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
